GENERAL
- As per Proboards rules, you must be 13 years or older to play.
- No fighting with others OOC, fights are frowned upon. If you have a problem with someone, please bring it to the staff members and we'll work on sorting it out.
- Stealing is not tolerated, all images must have the stock artist properly credited on them when applicable, don't make us be the stock police. Also, all signatures must be 545 px wide or smaller, and icons can be 150 x 200 in dimension.
- Spamming the c-box or any other board will not be tolerated; if we catch you doing this you will be banned.
- Advertising is for the advertising board only, please do not advertise in the cbox or send PMs to multiple accounts asking them to join your site.
- Please inform us if you are going to be away or not able to post much to prevent account deletion.
- When registering, it’s fine to use a nickname/alias. Once you make your character, please change your display name to your character’s full name. This includes middle names.
- Forever reserves/extensions on reserves on the face claim list must be run by Irish or Jess before they are requested.
CHARACTER CREATION
- When making more than one character, you must register a new account for each new character. This is to avoid confusion by having more than one character per account.
- We do not have any restrictions on the amount of characters you can make, but if you wish to make more than one, you must wait a week between the creation of your last character, and have posted at least one IC post with your last character before you are allowed to make a new one.
- Your character can be any age, but if they are under 18 it's suggested that they still live with their parents, we don't want a whole bunch of runaways running around here. If you insist on having a much younger character it'd be nice if you made their parents, we don't want orphans.
- If your character has a child you do not have to make a new application for them, you may play them as an NPC if you wish.
- No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus, no one's perfect. We love to see your creativity, but please have realistic aspects to your character. Someone with no job will not be able to afford to keep ten horses unless they are a multi million dollar heir or something along the same lines. When it comes to criminal convictions, please also keep things realistic.
- If you wish to have an Olympic rider, you must clear it with IRISH or JESS beforehand.
- For events such as pregnancies, please clear it with a staff member beforehand. It's likely to be accepted, but this is just a way to prevent an overload of it.
- Characters are not allowed to have their own barns. This is to prevent the site from being divided. All horses are boarded at Crossfire Farms.
- Since it's not every day a 16 year old would own a stallion, only characters 18 and up may own a stallion. Only characters who are 21 years or older may breed horses.
- There is no limit to how many horses you character can have, but be sensible. As we said earlier, somebody with no job would not own a lot of horses, so please keep your character's circumstances in mind.
- If you want your character to have another horse, please post only the horse section of the application in a NEW thread in the pending board and have it approved by a staff member. Once the new horse is accepted, we will move the post into your character's application thread. This way we can keep track of horses and not have someone suddenly running around with multiple unapproved horses. Don't fret if you can't see the posts with your new horses on it after it has been moved... Proboards doesn't like to show it up after it has been moved but when you look at your application it will be there.
POSTING
- When posting in character, please refrain from using chatspeak. It's hard to read, and isn't very literate. It's much easier to be able to form a reply to a thread when you can understand all of what is being said in it.
- We do not have a set posting size, but the recommended post size is 200 words, with 100 as the absolute minimum. One sentence replies are frustrating and not fair on the person you’re roleplaying with.
- Whilst we encourage creativity, we must also consider the Proboards TOS, and our younger members, so please do not get too graphic with 'mature' content. If the clothes are going to come off - the lights black out. Please try to stick to Proboards TOS when considering using mature themes in threads.
- Language is acceptable, but please try not to go too overboard. We don't want every second word of a post to be a profanity, it just gets tiresome, and can be offensive to some people. Some characters, if writing in first person or if they suffer from coprolalia might be prone to profanities, in which case it's acceptable.
- No godmodding. It's only acceptable if you have discussed it with the person you are roleplaying with beforehand. This saves arguments, and stop things from happening to characters that their players don't want.
HORSES
- Horses between the ages of 3-18 can be ridden and shown (unless we have yearling halter classes).
- No horse may be over 17.3 hh unless you have permission from Irish or Jess.
- Crazy horses that will harm people are not allowed. In a boarding situation, any horse that would bring physical harm on a person would not be permitted on the property as it is not only dangerous but would also make the insurance policy sky rocket. If the horse has a temper, that is fine, but if the horse deliberately hurts anyone, it will be kicked out.
- Please keep to the breed standards when making your horse a certain height, colour or discipline. If you don’t know, feel free to ask, or look it up on the internet, there are plenty of resources which will tell you what you need to know.
- After a mare has her foal, she cannot have another for a year.
- After a mare has her foal, she cannot be shown for one season (eg. if she foals in spring, she can begin to show again in the summer).
These rules are subject to changes/updates at any time.
