Erin walked into the barn, the tall black boots she was wearing were freshly polished. He Riding pants were spotless, shirt freshly ironed and the white button up was tucked in to her pants. She surveyed her surroundings and sighed a happy sigh and marched off in the direction of the tack room. Picking up Irish lucks tack and heading off towards the middle of the complex where her horses stalls were. Erin was really excited today because her brother had made time in his schedule to come and critique her riding it was a favorite past time. She smiled at the thought of her brother they had a lot of catching up to do. Erin had not seen him in months and it really was wearing on her. She was very close to her brother and usually told him everything so living with out him for months was a strange feeling.
Stopping in front of Lux's (Irish Luck) stall and decided that the old man of a horse needed his picture taken. Getting a near by stable hand to take the picture of her hugging luxes neck she thanked him and placed the camera down on the bale of hay next to the door and pulled lux out of the stall. He really was getting up there in age, being at the ripe old age of 25 years old he was the friendliest and most athletic old man she had ever ridden. Lux was extremely special to Erin because right before her father died of cancer he called her to her bedside and told her to look after lux his favorite horse. She loved lux not only because of the connection between her father but because he was her go to horse when everything went wrong and she just needed to cry she would sleep in his stall and he would lay down with her and place his head on her lap and that is how they would sleep.
Jolting herself from the pleasant memories she tacked up Lux and brought him out to the outdoor ring and warmed up his muscles by walk, trot and cater. She was heading for the first jump which was a pretty sizable jump standing at 4'6'', though not a problem for Lux even in his old age. She felt the old horse gather himself then everything stopped and went is slow motion. Lux's stride faltered and his knees locked up and they both slammed head first into the jump. The cheap wooden training poles the person before her had used splintered and Erin flew into the deadly mix of sharp wood and falling struggling horse. She landed with a thump on her back a large piece of wood protruded from side of her chest and she could not breath then as if in slow motion the horse was falling straight towards her and kicked Erin in the head then crumpled in a heap next to Erin. "No n-n-nn-nnn-n-nnooooo--o-o-o" she studdered. ignoring the agony in her chest and the blood everywhere and crawled to the horses head. Lux looked at her with his liquid brown eyes and nickered and took his last breath and fell silent. "H-e-e-e-l-l-p-p-p, please someone help..." She could not breath properly and was loosing blood fast and then her vision started going blurry and she crawled through the intense agony and took the horses head in her arms and cried the last thing she saw and heard was her brothers panicked voice and then as every thing was fading his panicked face yelling something she could not understand and she did not know if she was going to live or not but right now she really did not care...
