"god, help us."[/blockquote][/blockquote] He was absolutly insane. What was he doing in a place like this? He ran his hand through his dark hair and stared at the scars covering them. He grunted and shoved his hands back into the pockets of his jeans to hide them away from wandering eyes. There was a part of him that was happy he recieved a text message from an old pal inviting him out tonight. though. That was the only reason he had rolled out of bed, showered and actually dressed in something else other than Nike shorts.
Benjie raised his head to look at the neon signs that invited him inside the club. He grunted again and made for the door, his shoulders hunched. His leather jacket collar covered half of his face and he narrowed his eyes the closer he got to the doors, wondering where those guys were. Not that it mattered. He'd sit his happy ass at the bar and be content for the night.
Once inside, he handed his jacket to the man at the coat check and he held the number for his coat later tonight. That's to say that he would remember it. In only his white tee now, the black lights lit him up and he became more of a target than he had wanted to. He swallowed hard and eyed the floor where hundreds of people were packed and moving their bodies together at the same time. It was offical, he was completely insane for being here tonight. At this moment, Benjie considered grabbing his jacket and leaving again, but then he thought about the ten dollar cover he had already paid and thought better of it and made his way to the bar.
His cool eyes searched the club for any signs of his friends and he flipped his phone open, only to find that he had no service. Nice. He planted himself on a bar stool and swung around in the seat to eye the dance floor. The bar tender asked him a question and he looked over his shoulder and said simply, "Just a water, please." He continued to watch the dance floor and was greeted by a cold glass placed near his hand. He thanked the bar tender and smiled at her before pulling a large gulp. He sighed contently and looked down at his hands in the dark and was happy to find that nothing stood out.
Rising again from the bar, he finished off his water and eyed the familiar faces of his old pals from back in high school. What a sight they were. Who would have thought that his nerdy best pal would have grown up to look like that. But then again, who would have guessed that the rebel of Addison would have enlisted and gone off to war. In the Marines, none the less. He smiled and raised his hand in a wave and placed the still cold glass back on the bar and began to make his way through the throng of moving people and the flashing lights.

A long day of settling in and working horses had taken its toll on the trainer and photographer. She loved her work, but sometimes it became a little too much for even her to handle. Usually she only ran off about five hours of sleep a night. The horses were an everyday thing, and what little time that was left over she used to enhance her photography skills. She liked it that way, though. Sawyer felt useless and lazy anytime she wasn't doing something. Every second of the day had to be filled or else she would go insane sitting around her house. If something was previously scheduled, Sawyer would find something crazy and extemporaneous to pass her time. She was known back home for finding the most random thing and doing it just to say she had. She was always kind of the wild child.
Growing up as an adopted only child had its perks, but Sawyer had always felt lonely. She was forced to try new things and get out of her comfort zone, making her adult life much more interesting. She wasn't afraid to talk to strangers or do something a little outrageous. She loved to keep things interesting. Sawyer tended to get bored easily, therefore everything she did had to keep her attention for more than thirty seconds. With this in mind, the brunette parked her Jeep in an available spot near the bar and hopped out, her heels hitting the pavement. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she entered the dark building, her head held high and her shoulders back. Sawyer carried herself like royalty, never really caring what other people think about her. She came and went and didn't give anybody a second glance that wasn't worth her time. She wasn't a snob, but she didn't do anything unless it had a purpose, and some people definitely didn't.
She approached the bar eagerly and sat gingerly on the seat, raising her hand and asking for a martini. The bartender obliged, placing the tall glass in her elegant hands. She smiled in response and took a sip of the drink, smilng as it slid down her throat. She instantly felt better as she let her eyes wander around the room. People were dancing everywhere and Sawyer didn't recognize a single one. She shrugged her shoulders and sat her drink on the bar, rising and making her way to the center of the pack of drunk bodies. Her tiny dress whirled around her legs as she moved in time with the music and raised her arms. She twirled a circle and ran into a muscled body that stopped her in her tracks. She stumbled backwards into another dancer and struggled to gain her composure. She giggled as her feet got underneath her again and stopped sliding around. She smiled sweetly and turned to face the person she had just bulldozed. "I'm sorry! I guess these shoes weren't a very good idea!" She shrugged aimlessly and twirled around again, kicking up her heel, showing her three inch stilettos. "They sure are cute, though!" She laughed again and raised her eyes to meet the man's she had tumbled into.
Sawyer's eyes widened as she saw who she had hit. Her jaw hit the floor as she smiled hugely and let out a little squeal. "Benjie?!" She giggled and threw her hands up, going in for a hug. Her arms wrapped around him and she pulled back in shock. She hadn't seen Ben in forever..not since he left for the Marines. She studied every detail of his face and memories rushed back into her mind from highschool. They had been the 'it' couple, destined to be married. That is, until Benjie had left for the Marines. Sawyer wasn't mad at him for his decision at all. She knew it was what he wanted. She had wanted other things, too. She couldn't blame him for following his heart...even if it hadn't been with her. Sawyer couldn't wipe the grin from her face as she stared at Ben, "How are you? It's been ages..." The night got twenty times better now that she actually knew someone. Sawyer ran a hand through her curls and waited for him to reply, wanting to know everything that had happened since they broke up.

"hey baby girl, whatcha doin' tonight? i wanna see what you got in store."[/blockquote][/blockquote] The thundering music and swaying bodies left little for Benjie to figure out. He felt bodies slide against him and hands slide against places they probably shouldn't. On occasion, he'd cut his eyes to a girl with her hand out to him and clawing at him like a haunted tree. He cringed away and continued on his bee line towards his friends. He felt someone run into him again and he turned his head and grunted only to get a nasty look from a guy who apparently didn't want anyone else touching his catch of the night. He put his hands up and shook his head with a chuckle. Nope, wasn't going to move in on anyone tonight.
He felt someone bump into him again. He caught something to the stomach that knocked some of the air from him and he coughed once. He looked down at the pretty girl standing before him and couldn't help the grin that came over him. Now this was a nice catch. As she apologized, he cleared his throat and was thankful for the pounding music to cover up the sound of his slight wheezing due to her hit. "Hey, don't worry about it. You can-" He stood in mid sentence and had the rest of the air knocked out of his lungs as he peered down into the eyes of someone he hadn't seen in a very very long time.
She beat him to it by screeching his name. "Sawyer!!" He rushed into her hug and lifted her without thought and snuggled his face into her neck just like he used to. This was normal and suddenly, he was dying for anything that was normal and something that was like it should be. In this case, that was Sawyer. He placed her back on the ground and couldn't help but cling to her hands. He forgot all about his old pals that were waiting on the other side of the dance floor for him. They would figure that he got caught up with someone anyway and would cheer him on. He'd explain another time.
"Good God, girl, how have you been!?" he yelled over the music and couldn't help but let out a laugh and lift her again into a spinning hug. His large frame managed to hit a few people which earned him even more nasty looks, but he ignored them and could only look at the girl he had left behind six years ago. And here she was. Back in Addison and looking great as anything.

She giggled happily, reminded of old times when they were together in school. She felt her legs bang into people as he twirled her around, but she could care less. Sawyer smiled her mega watt smile when he set her feet back on the ground, a feeling of giddyness running up and down her spine. Ben's voice sounded like music to her ears as she strained to hear over the loud music. "Good God, girl. How have you been?" She gave a slight shrug and twirled around with her arms in the air. "I have never been better, Benjie! Just making the most of this crazy thing called life!" She laughed and placed a small hand on his chest, leaning in so she could speak. "How have times been to you? You sure look good." She let her eyes sweep over his body before returning to his face. "You haven't changed a bit, Benjie!" Sawyer swayed her hips to the music, but never let her eyes leave Ben's face. It felt so good to finally know somebody, and the fact that it was her old highschook sweetheart made it even better.
Sawyer reached for his hand in a swift movement and soon she had led him out of the mass of people. She walked with a purpose towards her martini and pulled Ben onto a stool next to her. She wanted to know so much, and the dance floor wasn't the best place to talk. She grabbed her drink and swallowed the rest before turning her gaze upon him. "I want to know everything, Benjie! Are you still the same wild heartbreaker from highschool?" She would have a hard time believing anything else. She knew his decision to go into the Marines was a big one for him, considering his reputation in highschool. The pair had gotten into some trouble with eachother and had some fun times. She recalled countless times they snuck out to attend parties that they should definitely have not gone to. Looking back on it, Sawyer wouldn't have changed a thing. She had kept her wild ways in adulthood. She was never one for following rules.
Sawyer stared out onto the dance floor and noticed how the lighting was perfect for some amazing pictures. Her photographer side randomly appeared and she never went anywhere without her camera. She smiled at Benjie before reaching into her purse and pulling out a Nikon camera. She took of the lens cap and stood, moving towards the people. She began snapping photos, trying from different angles to maximize the black light and positions. She giggled at her own impulsiveness and shrugged back at Benjie. He could wait for a minute. This opportunity was too good to pass up. She needed some pictures for her portfolio and how interesting were bar pictures? People loved to watch drunks dancing around. It was human nature and entertaining. Once she had attained enough photos, Sawyer returned to her stool with a little hop in her step. She glided onto the seat and focused her attention back on Ben as if she had never left. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table. Her chocolatey eyes found his and she waited for him to tell her what had been going on his life since he left.

"i want you tonight."[/blockquote][/blockquote] Same old impulsive and completely random Sawyer. It was good to see that nothing had changed about her. She was acting as the constant in his life and he smiled softly. He had opened his mouth to speak a few times, but was cut off by her continuing to talk. That's how it had always been. She did all the talking and he took care of the muscle work. The back of his mind ticked back to their first time and he couldn't help the smirk, but it was quickly whipped away and he was brought back to the present. She was amazing looking and sounding. It was hard to believe that six years ago, he had left her when she was only a junior and he was a senior. Time flies when you're getting filled with bullets, apparently. But he shut that sarcastic side out and focused on her and how stunning she was. From her smile all the way down to those apparently ridiculous shoes that she chose for tonight. She only looked better at his senior prom.
Oh no. She wanted to know everything that had happened. Yikes. Cool it, Ben. Just give her the surface stuff, he soothed himself mentally. She wasn't asking to get into anything beyond knowing how he was and he could do that, right? He swallowed hard and chuckled softly as she referred to him as the old heart-breaker in high school. That much was true. He had managed to hurt more than his fair share of girls back in high school. It sounded so far away now. Like high school was a distant world that he could never revisit and that almost made him sad to think about, but then he realized that he wasn't going anywhere then and he was actually worth something now.
He let her lead him back over to the bar stool. He nodded to the bar tender and winked at her again when Sawyer wasn't looking. Benjie watched Sawyer disappear with her camera and he turned back to the bar tender. He slipped her money for his drink and turned back around in time for Sawyer whenever she came back. He smiled at her again and sighed at himself for already going back into his old habits. Apparently high school Benjie wasn't too far under the surface. He cleared his throat and thought about where to start with her. Where could be begin to tell her about how he was pretty much completely opposite of how he used to be?
Benjie looked back out to the dance floor and longed to be out there, mixed in with the heated bodies and have his voice drowned out by the music. He wanted to be hidden away from the eyes that used to cut through him. "Well.. to be honest, I'm not too much like I used to be in high school. I calmed down a lot since then," he said, though being in a night club probably didn't help convince her of that in the least bit. "A lot more muscled here, little more muscled there... Not too much different otherwise." Benjie thought about how they were of age now and no one could tell him no. No one was around to tell him that he was not allowed to spend the night with her and the idea was extremely tempting. "But what about you?" he asked, hopeful to get the conversation off of himself.

Sawyer couldn't quite place her finger on it, but she knew something was off. She noticed immediately that he wasn't even drinking any alcohol. If she remember correctly, he had been a pretty good drinking buddy in highschool. Sawyer was always up for a good drink, and Benjie was never unwilling to oblige her. It seemed like the two almost never left eachother's sides. There wasn't a memory that didn't include him in it. Sawyer lost her virginity to him, too. She remembered the night like it was yesterday and it brought a huge smile to her face. They had been quite the pair. It was no suprise that they were prom king and queen and two of the most popular people in their classes. Sawyer remembered how different her senior year had been after he left. She didn't date anyone again until half way through the year- Brian Young. She remembered the good ole rivalry him and Benjie always had. She always found it funny, but once Benjie left it lost its entertainment value to her.
Sawyer couldn't help but giggle at his comment about him calming down. She found that so hard to believe...she couldn't imagine a Benjie that wasn't as crazy as she was. When she realized he wasn't kidding, she giggled out an reply, "I think the old Benjie is in there somewhere! It may take a bit of digging, though..." She grinned in his direction and traced a finger across his chest. She loved teasing him. It had been so entertaining to her through highschool. She would give a little and then take it all away. Sawyer had only slept with Benjie one time and that was only because he was being extra adorable. She laughed at the memory and was jolted back to reality by his voice. More muscle? This Marines had been kind to Ben in a physical sense. He really did look good. Sawyer couldn't help but feel attracted to her former love.
Benjie soon asked about her and she quickly set off into a whirl of speech. She always was the talkative one of the two. "Well, after you left I date Brian Young....but don't worry, I never gave him more than I gave you." She winked and leaned back on her stool, laughing slightly. "I graduated top of my class and went to college and took some classes in photography and equine sciences..I dropped out pretty quick, though. I never was one for focusing on school. After that I just ran dad's racing barn and took pictures for a side job. I travelled all around the world for a year, too." That had been the most amazing time of her life. Seeing the whole world by herself made her view things differently. She had a knew respect for different cultures and it transfered into everyday life.
