it will always be what i love and hated- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lucian had been driving home when he passed the dirty, run-down shack called a bar. Now he sat in the seat of his Challenger, staring at the lit up light calling the place The Hyde. If he remembered right, Aiden worked here. He'd always respected and liked Aiden, even if she were more of an ally than a friend. It would be nice to talk to her again. Although, if he were being honest with himself, it wasn't the thought of talking to Aiden that was enticing him to enter the bar. He rubbed his hand across the steering wheel slowly, knowing he should just start the car and drive home but unable to. More like unwilling. He sat there for a few moments longer, debating with himself about it. It would be more then bad if he got himself drunk, but there was such a low chance that he decided to ignore it. He got out and shut the car door, locking it and slipping the keys in his pocket. He sighed and stood by the car, just looking at the place before he noticed the bouncer watching him with a wary eye. With a terse smile, he took lazy strides over and gave him the smallest of nods before slipping inside quietly.
Lucian looked around the hot, sweat-smelling room. The party was just getting started. He watched a couple grind against each other, the man's hand inching lower and lower down the woman's stomach and he couldn't help the rueful grin that spread across his face.
He slipped through the crowd of people, ignoring the girls that brushed against him intimately and made his way toward the bar counter looking for the slight, brown haired girl. “Aiden!” He yelled over the music and shouting, catching a glimpse of the woman. He leaned against the counter, enjoying her look of complete surprise to one of curiosity. He waited for her to come over, looking away and over his shoulder at the girls on the stage. Watching them appreciatively, he almost didn't hear Aiden's voice cut through his thoughts, “you gonna stand there gawking at half-naked women all night, Lucian?” He jerked back around, grinning fully. He laughed, shaking his head. “Sorry; it's a bit distracting you know,” he winked. “I came to talk to you,” he finished, lifting his brows expectantly. Aiden looked at him doubtfully, snorting softly and getting a glass out. Filling it with beer from the tap, she slide the foaming drink toward him and put a hand on her hip. “Bullshit. You came to satisfy your eyes and your alcohol addiction.”
Lucian laughed, not about to deny it. He didn't know how Aiden knew him so well. He took the drink, anyway, taking a large swig from it. Setting it down, he sighed and sat down on the stool by his side. “Thanks, Aiden.”
“You're welcome, Lucian.” With an eye-roll, Aiden turned back around to help out another eager patron. She casts glances at Lucian as his eyes wandered around the bar, always finding their way back to the girls dancing for money on the stage. She wouldn't pretend to know why he was here, but she would bet money that is had to do with a brown haired, blue eyed girl that they both knew he wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
Lucian finished one glass, sliding it over to Aiden without looking. He didn't need to look at her to see the disapproval all over her face. She didn't say a word to him, though, and he knew it was because she didn't have any room to talk. She was as bad as him, worse probably. Still, he hardly paid her any mind as she filled his glass over and over again. He lost count five re-fills ago. He watched the strippers with a vacant look until they exited the stage, new and fresh girls taking over for the ones that had danced for the last four hours. He stared at a blue-eyed girl, for one instant believing it was Kaitlyn. She started to dance, and blinking, Lucian looked away wondering what the hell was wrong with him. Except the eyes, the girl looked nothing alike Kaitlyn. He frowned, frustrated with himself. He went to take a drink and growled when he found it empty. Shoving the cup over to Aiden, he turned his back on the stage and the dancing and watched Aiden take the cup for the umpteenth time.
“You should go home, Lucian…” she murmured, keeping her voice low while she gently handed the cup back to ragged looking man. Lucian grabbed the glass and downed half of it before he lowered it, glaring at Aiden through blood-shot eyes. “You are not my mother, my girlfriend, or god forbid my wife so just stay out of it, Aiden.” He lifted the glass to finish the drink when Aiden's hand suddenly shot out and lowered it for him. He met her furious brown eyes with his own. “You're acting pathetic, Garner. You and I both know what this is about and drinking yourself unconscious, or worse starting some fight in here is not going to solve the goddamn problem. Go home,” she spit out firmly, but angrily.
Lucian stared at her for a moment, almost taking her advice. He ripped the glass back, swigging the rest of it and sliding it back to her.
“So, what's it about. Gimme another glass,” he added and waited for her to do as he asked. She looked at him disgustedly but did so. Sipping on yet another glass of beer, he almost choked when Aiden spoke again. “Kaitlyn.” He wanted to bash his head into a wall at her name. He glared worldlessy at her, swallowing his beer. “I'm over that bitch, so don't start bringing up shit that's dead and burried, Dupont.”
He saw her about to answer when her jaw closed and she stared over his shoulder at something. He lifted his brow, unconcerned and took another drink. At least whatever it was shut up her. “Well, it's about to be dug up real fast.” He looked at her. Slowly, he glanced over his shoulder to see Kaitlyn pushing aside dancers that glared and shot loaded words at her. Her eyes were on him. Quickly he turned around, hunching his shoulders and groaning. “FUCK! AIDEN, HELP!” He stared at her desperately but Aiden only smirked back at him, not bothering to answer as she filled the glass of another waiting alcoholic. He was screwed.

i'm terrified to speak, but you'd expect that from me, - - - - - - - - - - No matter what she did, or where she went- she couldn't forget him. Every part of her regretted a simple accusation that had broke the straw on the camels back. Chewing on the inside of her cheek at the thought, the tiny brunette sat up tall against the bar, watching all the couples grind to the pounding music. Shaking her head, she looked over at the lone guy sitting down the bar, staring at her. Trying to ignore the fact he had been staring at her for the last five minutes, she reached over and called for another shot of tequila.
Two shots more, she barely noticed the man making his way closer to her. At the moment she noticed, he offered to buy her another. Grinning and raising an eyebrow at him, she agreed. Three shots later he was dragging her on to the dance floor, she followed behind him unable to really walk in a straight line. Eyes narrowed slightly, trying to get her focus back on everything that seemed to be a blur. Before she knew it his hand were on her, and she naturally let her hips sway to the music. After awhile, a devilish grin tugged to the corners of her lips, playing the same game he was. She didn't care that his hands ran over her torso, her thighs, their pelvises pressed tightly together as they danced. It wasn't an unusual occurance for her to be dancing with strangers at night, at first it had taken her mind off of him. The hurt seemed to dissapear a bit as she let the alcohol burn down her throat and make her eyes water. After drinking enough, it took her away from the pain, but it began to take more and more time just to make it fade a bit. It didn't last long, until it got to an extent where she just couldn't forget, she'd never forget. She tried everything, drinking, running, sleeping to just forget him, but she never did. Even when she told herself she was over him, it never worked because she knew that she'd never get over it.
It didn't matter what she did, he was still the only thing on her mind. After five or so shots of tequila, she couldn't forget Lucian- her heart ached for everything she had lost. It had been a whole year now, and even then it didn't hurt any less. Closing her eyes at the thought, she let the music try and invade her thoughts- but they didn't let her forget, they never did. The mistake haunted her, and it would for the rest of her life. She loved him with all her heart, and no matter what she did, or what she told herself, she wouldn't stop loving him. Even when she had been broken, telling herself that love didn't exist and was simply a figment of the imagination, he changed that.
Swallowing hard, she pushed back the thought as she felt the mans lips on her neck. Making a face, she made no effort to push him away and allowed him to continue. Eventually as his lips neared hers, she grimaced and shoved him away hard. Ignoring him as he yelled something at her in Spanish that she didn't quite understand. Making her way through the crowd of people dry humping each other, she'd occasionally trip in the small heels she had on and hit the couples. Ignoring the dirty looks that she got from them, she stopped dead in her tracks as she noticed a familiar figure sitting at the bar. Beer in hand, slouching slightly as he spoke to a familiar brown haired girl that she just couldn't put a name on. She knew her from somewhere, and she definitely knew who the brown haired male was. Her heart cracking a bit in her chest, suddenly feeling a bit short of breath she just stared at him.
Perhaps it was just a figment of her imagination, desperately wishing that she could see him again. But no, it was the world trying to play a sick joke on her, trying to see how much she could hurt again. Making her way forward on unstable legs, she plopped down on the seat beside him. Studying the handsome male, she knew it was him just from his posture. "Lucian," she murmured, taking in his familiar features. Shifting forward to get a better look at him, ignoring her shirt shifting and revealing even more cleavage than before. Chewing hard on the the inside of her cheek, she met his gaze. Her eyes filled with pain and sorrow, she wanted to hug him, bury her face in his chest and apologize over and over again. Holding back the urge, she finally spoke after a long pause. "Hey..."

it will always be what i love and hated- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lucian stared at Aiden in disbelief. He set his jaw, watching her with an expression to melt snow caps off mountains. Groaning, he lowered his head into the counter, closing his eyes and mumbling, “way to help a man.” He heard Aiden laugh under her breath and he scowled deeply, almost starting when he heard her voice in his ear, her breath hot and her words making him want to hit her. Hard. “I am helping you, just not the kind of help you wanted.” He clenched his fists at his side, resisting the urge. Although… that was something that would definitely get him kicked out. He opened his eyes, fixing them on Aiden and smirking. “You better be nice to me, otherwise I'll start a fight. With you. Don't think I won't, it's the perfect excuse to get the hell out of here before Kaitlyn eats me alive.” He grunted again, casting a dirty look at her. Aiden laughed out right, shaking her head and looking him over. “Anyone ever tell you that you're ridiculous when you're drunk? Plus, you look like you drug yourself outta a dumpster.” Lucian stared at her. She really was about to get a fist to her face.
He didn't get anymore to say though, before Kaitlyn was behind him. He felt her there before he heard her, and her turned around in time to see her last few steps were on wobbly, drunk legs before she sat in on the stool beside him and stared at him like a blind man seeing the sun for the first time. It killed him, the adoration she always showed him. Especially since he deserved none of it. But he didn't want her adoration right now, or ever again. It made it all the more difficult to be pissed at her.
He grunted yet again, his default reaction it seemed, when she said his name and he looked away from her bitterly. “Unless it changed since the last time I checked, that's still my name.” Aiden snorted. He glared over at her. “Shut up, woman.” He looked sullenly at his glass of beer and tilted his head back, letting the last bit drip into his mouth. He licked his lips and set the glass back down, ignoring Kaitlyn and her quiet 'hey' until she shifted closer to him. He glanced over, his eyes on her chest and he stared drunkenly.
“Lucian. You're drooling.” Aiden leaned against the counter, watching him with nothing but amusement shinning in her brown eyes. He rolled his eyes, appraising Kaitlyn for another moment before looking back at Aiden. “Make yourself useful and get me another beer. I'm too sober for this shit.” He mumbled that last part, but watched and waited until Aiden got him another and he downed that one before he turned and gave Kaitlyn his full attention. He looked at her face, but his eyes threatened to trail down without him actually meaning to. Not like she'd mind. She was probably having an orgasm where she sat.
He smirked at her. “So, you look good. Having fun out there?” He jerked his head to the dance floor. No doubt being the whore she was. “I hope you didn't fuck anyone on the floor. I mean, even you would find some place even just remotely private, right?” He eyed her chest again, licking his lips and reaching for the drink that Aiden kept re-filling. He didn't know that she found it all too funny to cut him off.
“Though, we both know you still love me, isn't that right Kaitlyn?” His eyes glinted into hers, looking a little bit less drunk as he said this. He kept his gaze on her intensely for a few more moments before he shrugged and leaned back, looking at her with a blank expression. “Too bad you were such a control freak, psycho you're-cheating-on-me girlfriend that went and got her ass dumped.” He took a sip of his drunk, talking more to her tits then to her. He missed her. Life was so boring without her constant insecurities. Lucian knew there must be something wrong with him if he missed that, but it was all that made up Kaitlyn. At the moment, though, his mind just kept wandering back to the sex. He knew if he made a move now, Kaitlyn wouldn't push him away. The girl never did. That could get her into trouble, deep trouble.
Aiden chose that moment to step in. She leaned across the counter, patting Lucian's cheek and looking over at Kaitlyn. “Hey, Kaitlyn. Remember me, Aiden? Yeah, Lucian's a bit drunk right now so try not to get him too worked up. He might hurt himself, or something.” Lucian slapped her hand away crossly, looking like a five year old boy as he did it.

i'm terrified to speak, but you'd expect that from me, - - - - - - - - - - She knew right away that he was completely wasted, his posture said it before he even opened his mouth. After the years that she had known him, it wasn't an unusual occurrence for Lucian to be seen drinking or being buzzed. But being wasted on the other hand was something that had been less frequent, but this wasn't the first time she had seen him like this. The more he drank the more the Lucian she loved would slip away, sighing at him as he began to talk, she just shook her head sadly. Through the drunken stupor, she still had clear thoughts about him. No matter how much she drank, the same thing remained clear: she loved him with all her heart. His comment about the dance floor made her follow his gaze back out there, shaking her head at him, she met his eyes. “Not really. There's no one out there who catches my eye,” she said to him, being honest. Not that there was anyone but him who ever did. If she tried to find someone and move on, she just couldn't- the only one she really found herself constantly coming back to was him.
It was always Lucian, and it always would be, it was a curse for her because she knew that she'd never be over him.
“Can't say I've fucked anyone in awhile.”
Ignoring the direct comment he made implying that she was a whore. “If I were too it definitely wouldn't be in here though, you have to give me a bit more credit than that, Lucian.” If it were anyone else that would have made that comment, she wouldn't have let it go. Perhaps even if she was more sober, but just looking at him once again took away all possible traces of animosity that she tried to feel toward him. He left her, abandoned in the middle of no where without anything to do. She had no one in her life to turn to after that, all the relationships she had were broken, whether it be friends or family. It was fortunate that her farther loved her unconditionally and took her back in under his wing, watching sadly as his broken daughter seemed to have the life sucked away from her. Finally, Josh had enough and kicked her out to Texas to go ride. That was another thing Kaitlyn still wasn't quite over, the fact her father kicked her out (well, lovingly told her she needed to go on with her life). Little did her father know that she would run into the same person that had broken her all over again. His flawless plan of getting her away from it all hadn't seemed to work out quite well. It was like fate continued to push them together, no matter what happened they just kept coming back to each other. She didn't even notice that she was leaning forward now, closer to him. Following his gaze, unable to really focus on where it was going (of course it was straight on her chest). As he continued to ramble on, she frowned at his comment about her still loving him. She couldn't lie to him about it, she couldn't deny it. The little pieces of her heart seemed to throb in her chest, looking up at him and smiling sadly (a bit bitterly, at that) she just shrugged. “You know me all too well, Lucian Garner,” she stated sadly, not really denying the fact. She wanted to say that she didn't anymore, that he could just go on- but the little voice whispered in the back of mind seemed to over power that. You love him, and you always will, it whispered. That voice was honest, and she wished it wasn't. As he went on about their break up, she ignored it the best she could. Trying to push his voice out, ignore the memories that threatened to come back to her. “Yeah, it is too bad, isn't it? It's too bad that you couldn't look past the insecurities though. Your loss, I guess.” Her voice fell quiet, the familiar pain flashing through it. Biting on the inside of her cheek hard, she wanted something more to drink. Blue eyes looked over at the bartender, she just didn't know who she was. The face was familiar, so devastatingly familiar but yet she just couldn't put a name to that face. Eventually when she spoke, the missing links reconnected. How could she have forgotten Aiden, a warm smile slide on her face as she grinned at her. “Of course I remember you, Aiden. It would be hard not too. A bit drunk? Don't worry, I think I can handle that. It isn't the first time,” she said quietly, laughing and raising an eyebrow as Lucian swatted Aiden's hand away. “Nah, I wouldn't let him hurt himself.” Reaching over to grab his hand that he used to swat at Aiden, she leaned over and grabbed the coke that she ordered. Sipping it, she looked at Lucian and let go of his hand. “You've always had troubles keeping your hands to yourself, but I don't think Aiden appreciates it.” [/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - RESERVED FOR-- LUCIAN C: WORD COUNT-- o,865 // complete NOTES-- oh kaitlyn. this post sucks im sorry Dx CREDITS -- images/text banners etc all copyright to their respectful owners. it will always be what i love and hated- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -It was sad but everything Kaitlyn said went right over his head. He stared at her, watching her lips move and her face as she talked but not a word she uttered ever reached him. Pain was building in his chest, a paint that he knew only Kaitlyn was ever able to make him feel. He hated her for that. He loved her for it, too. She made him so weak, so vulnerable. The alcohol burning his tongue and throat and making his head pound also kept his senses dulled and dumb and his eyes inevitably kept finding themselves below her face and neck. In a lucid moment, he was glad Kaitlyn loved it when he stared at her chest so much otherwise he was sure he would have been slapped by now.
Of course he did notice when she looked away from him, the first time since she sat down, smiling at Aiden and talking to her. Lucian frowned, jealous of the attention that she was denying him before grinding his teeth in frustration with himself.
He shouldn't have gotten drunk. He was an idiot when he was drunk. Aiden was right. Glancing briefly at her, he felt the urge to hit her all over again yet he pushed it down and settled for a glare that Aiden looked at and turned back to Kaitlyn carelessly.
But Kaitlyn quickly regained his attention as she grabbed his hand in hers. He jerked his gaze back over to her, pupils dilated and mouth firm as he just looked at her. For a moment the alcohol receded, leaving him to think and he nearly squeezed her hand before she released it, speaking again. He barely caught her words, blinking for a moment before they truly reached him and he scowled. He heard Aiden's laugh and it flared the temper in him that was already dangerously lit. He stood up abruptly, his chair falling back with a loud clatter and swung his fist at Aiden.
He felt it when his hand connected and he winced, his hand throbbing but the realization that he had lost control of himself making his blood run cold. Swearing, he looked over his shoulder half expecting the bouncers to be shoving people aside to get to him yet no one but Aiden, Kaitlyn and him seemed to noticed. He didn't want to think about what Kaitlyn looked like but he couldn't help but spare a glance over at her. He grimaced, looking away and to the ground before he remembered Aiden.
Aiden had barely time to blink before Lucian's fist broke her nose. She could tell the way it cracked sickeningly; she wasn't unfamiliar with broken noses. Wanting to pass out from the pain of it, she resisted and settled for a wince and coughed as blood ran down from her nose into her mouth and dripped down her neck. She grabbed a towel just as Lucian looked over at her, dabbing at the blood on her neck. Backing away from his helpful hand and horribly guilty expression, she shook her head and tipped back her head to stop the bleeding but also to postpone the inevitable.
“Gotta re-set it,” Lucian mumbled as he watched her. Aiden laughed, a nasal and nasty sound and bared her teeth at him, “don't you think I know that, you fucking imbecilic shit?” Now it was her turn to resist hitting him and she was better at self-control at Lucian, luckily for him. Still, she shoved away his hand that reached out to her hard and growled at him warningly.
Lucian dropped his hand back to his side, sighing heavily and raising his eyes to the ceiling with shame.
Aiden threw the towel on the counter, grabbing her nose and jerking it back into place with a yelp that had several people turning to look. She waved them away impatiently, turning to Lucian with a look of murder in her eyes. “Get out before I throw you out.”
Lucian turned to look at her wordlessly, not daring to glance at Kaitlyn as he pushed him way through people to reach the door. Pushing it open, he breathed in the night air with stinging lungs and felt the urge to sink to the ground right there. Making his way to his car he simply leaned against the door and slid down to the concrete, putting his head between his knees and going numb.

i'm terrified to speak, but you'd expect that from me, - - - - - - - - - - Lucian's temper was something she knew not to mess with, and throughout the years there had been many near misses where he had almost lost control of his temper. There was one time where he had lost his temper with her, just once out of the many fights. She blamed herself, thinking back to the times where most of the fights had been her just looking for one. Arguing with him had been something they just naturally got in to, and it happened a lot. She couldn't help the fact she was raised to argue and battle, opinionated to a strong point and she didn't give up with what she was trying to get across. But Lucian, like her, also was strong about what he believed in. Watching him wearily from the corner of her eye, she noticed how tense he stood as Aiden laughed. She wasn't all that surprised when suddenly he was standing, the clattering on the chair against the hard ground made her cringe. Taking in a deep breath, she bit her lip. His tense posture and clenched jaw told her everything she needed to know as his fist went flying in the direction of Aiden.
Kaitlyn had been in that position once, and she cringed once more as his fist came in contact with her. Rubbing her face, she shook her head as Aiden staggered back with a hand over her nose. Looking over at the rest of the club, she was surprised that not even a single person but the trio had seen the incident. Standing up on surprisingly sturdy legs, blue eyes sad and concerned as she saw his rigid posture was realization washed over him like a tidal wave. Looking over at Aiden, she chewed on the inside of her cheek at the blood running down the petite girl's face. It was definitely broken, just as the thought crossed her mind Lucian spoke again, quiet and mumbled about it needing to be reset. She had never had seen such a murderous look from anyone as she stared at Lucian, nor had she ever seen Aiden angry. Not that she blamed her though, she just did get her nose broken. Watching as Lucian trudged out, she leaned over the counter, pulling out a good two hundred dollars of cash out of her dress and shoving it across the counter toward her.
“I'm gonna apologize for Lucian's temper, because he probably feels like shit right now for doing that to you,” her voice trailed off slightly, “I don't know how much he drank... so this should cover most of it, or at least I'm hoping. There should be more than enough. Keep the change... that is if he didn't drink the whole bar out.”
Smiling at her slightly, she took off through the crowd as quickly as she could, the clicking of her heels against the floor was drowned out by the pounding of music. Shoving past the bouncers on her way out, the cool night air took her by surprise. The change in the temperature from inside the warm, humid club to the cool Autumn night was definitely shocking. Rubbing her arms as she wandered through the parking lot, she knew he couldn't have left yet (not that it'd be safe for him to even be considering driving). Shivering at the light breeze, she finally saw him sitting on the ground leaning against his familiar car. Ignoring the goose bumps that prickled across her arms and legs, she made her way toward him. Her actions almost weren't controlled by her mind blurred with alcohol, but she found herself crouching down beside him and wrapping her arms around him. Her vision almost seemed blurry, her throat feeling tight. She couldn't figure out why until she felt a stray tear roll down her cheeks. Swallowing hard, she told herself that she wasn't going to cry, she wasn't even quite sure toward why she was. “Lucian,” she murmured, pressing her face in to his shoulder and hugging him tighter. He smelt like stale cigarette smoke and alcohol, but underneath that the same smell that comforted her seemed to wash her over. “You shouldn't be drinking that much,” she murmured to him, forcing her voice to remain strong as she pushed the tears away, fighting hard against the urge to break down and cry. He still had his face pressed in to his knees, taking his face in her hands, she tilted his chin up to look at her. Her eyes sad, but filled with concern and adoration as she looked in to his. A sad smile crossed the corners of her mouth, the familiar pain filling her all over again like it had been months ago the longer she looked at him. it will always be what i love and hated- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -If there was one thing that Lucian hated above everything else it was himself. He was scared of his own anger, scared of what he could do when he lost control of himself like he just did. He had gotten so good at controlling the violent tendencies that wanted to rise up in him over the years. He realized that Kaitlyn was both the fuel to his flame and the Novocaine that numbed it; she was the only one that could do this to him. Yet, as much as he hated himself, he hated the thought of leaving Kaitlyn alone in the world just as much. He hurt her unintentionally all the time but she came back time and time again with all her love to offer and nothing to forgive. She didn't realize how much he depended on her. He never told her.
The anger was still burning white-hot in his chest as he leaned back against his car, the night air getting warmer as he sat there. He didn't raise his head or make any movements, feeling keys in his pocket he knew that if he didn't start that car and drive off Kaitlyn would be out here in any moment.
He didn't know about Aiden. He might have just ruined whatever working relationship they had and Lucian was numb to feel anything about it.
Aiden, however, was more worried about Kaitlyn than she was about Lucian. She took the money Kaitlyn threw on the table, saying nothing in response to her words and watched her sprint off to the door, no doubt to catch Lucian before he left. Folding and smoothing the wadded money, she took out what wasn't owed and put it in her back pocket. She would give it back to Kaitlyn when she saw her again, which she knew wouldn't be too long. Then turning on the faucet for the mini sink, she wet the end of her rag and started scrubbing off the dried blood from her face, ignoring the swelling and the slight off coloration of her nose. It would bruise and Lucian would be smart to stay away from while her temper cooled.
Lucian heard it when the bar door opened because he was listening for it, expecting it. He tensed immediately. Even as she lowered herself next to him and wrapped her arms around him he didn't dare look up or move. He remained motionless, knowing that ignoring her would do no good. The girl was persistent and she wouldn't leave until she got the response she wanted. Yet, he hesitated.
He relaxed slightly as she mumbled his name but then sighed sharply when she managed to move closer. He closed his eyes, fighting the burning need to take her face in his hands and just kiss her. He snorted sarcastically as she mentioned his drinking. Both of them knew good and well he would drink that much until his liver gave out. But thoughts of his drinking and everything else faded into the background of his scattered mind as she inevitable lifted his face to look at hers. He stared at her as blankly as he could manage in his drunken and emotional state. Frowning slightly as one of those sad, little smiles that she was so good at curved her lips down, Lucian shifted slightly and pressed his hands over hers. Taking them from his face, he entwined his fingers with his and groaned inwardly. The feel of her skin against his was intoxicating and just the holding of hands wasn't going to satisfy him tonight.
He stood up on his feet, only stumbling once, and pulled her up after him effortlessly. Pressing her back into the side of his car, he put her arms around his neck and released her hands to take her face in his. Without any preamble, he kissed her.
He groaned, kissing her harder and deeper with each passing moment, not getting enough. His hands slid from her face down her neck and sides, passing down her hips as he hitched both her legs up to wrap around him. Fumbling his the car door, he finally got it open and managed to get them both inside before shutting and locking the door and pressing her into the backseat. He slowed his kisses, trailing them across her jaw and down her neck as his breathing quickened. His hands sneaked up her shirt, lifting it off her with an ease that came natural to him. Soon both their clothing were off and Lucian looked down at Kaitlyn with all the love he fought so hard to hold back tonight. Brushing his lips against her jaw, he whispered huskily in her ear, “you are so beautiful, Kaitlyn,” He lost himself in her skin, her scent, her everything as he heard the distant sound of thunder and the familiar sound of rain pelting the car.
---
Lucian shifted lightly in his sleep, half awake as he drowsily listened to the thunderstorm fading and moving on. He was hard pressed to remember the night before and he didn't try, assuming it was just another boring night drinking himself into unconsciousness in his house. But he felt the slight weight of a gentle, curving body pressed against his side, almost on top of him and it confused him for just one instant. His eyes flew open and he looked at Kaitlyn who slept soundlessly, peaceful and relaxed, the lines of pain and worry of last night erased from her pretty face. Lucian sucked in a huge gulp of air, letting it out quietly and laying his head back against the warm car seat. Shit.
He stared up at the roof of his car, battling the different emotions that coursed through him. This was his fault, of course, but Kaitlyn knew… She knew what he was like when he was drunk. She knew what her closeness would make him do. She was never completely innocent of anything. His face hardened, but he found he couldn't be mad at her.
Shifting barely, gentle in his movements so not to wake her, he softly brushed the strands of hair from her face and looked at her with a painful expression. He loved her. He loved her so much it hurt. He traced the soft curvatures of her jaw, cheekbone, trailing a finger down her nose and bottom lip as she shifted. He froze, afraid he woke her up, and stared at her as she mumbled his name under her breath. He struggled to breath, closing his eyes tightly, knowing he'd have to hurt her all over again.

i'm terrified to speak, but you'd expect that from me, - - - - - - - - - - She hated seeing him like this, pained and trying to let it all slide away. In a way, deep down it almost reassured her that he was still human- that he hurt too. Before she use to wonder if he had hurt like she had, but she knew he did. He felt the same pain she did, he knew how it felt to have his heart ripped from his chest and squeezed until there wasn't any blood left to be spilled. Just the shattered remained were tossed carelessly on the floor like ashes like a wildfire that had burned and charred everything in sight. Thick silence suffocated them, and she began to worry a bit as they sat there in the still night. Looking up at the sky, dark clouds were slowly rolling in and covering the twinkling blanket of stars. She remembered the nights where the two would just lay in the back of his truck when he'd drive down by the beach. His arms would be wrapped around her, holding her tightly against his chest as they listened to the repetitive sound of the waves flooding the shore. She missed those nights, everything was so simple between them. If she could go back, she would change all the things that she messed up and to continue through those days. Even if she knew she couldn't, and that it wasn't healthy to hold on to the past like she did- she just couldn't let it go. She told herself she was over everything and that she wanted to move on, but that goal crumpled around her minutes after every single time.
Her heart fluttered in her chest as he reached up and took her hands, the familiar warmth made her smile. Just the familiar contact send butterflies eating on her insides, but she watched him for a long time. Their fingers entwining, and he groaned at the feeling of their skin brushing. Looking up at him and raising an eyebrow slightly at that. Suddenly without any warning he was on his feet, tugging her up with him. Almost stumbling and falling as he dragged her up, she smiled and studied his face. She didn't quite expect him to press her against his car, as she stepped back she watched his face- trying to decipher the emotion, but he held a blank face just as well as he usually did. It didn't take rocket science to figure out his intentions, yet her thoughts strung out by love, alcohol and pain couldn't connect the dots as fast as usual. The only thing she clearly knew was that she still loved him, and that it was definitely going to rain. Without any real indication, his warm hands cupped her face and he closed the gap between them and kissed her. Her mind went in to overdrive, without even consciously being aware of her actions she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. First it was gentle, tender, but it didn't last long. Passion and affection ripped through the two, her hands snaked around his neck and tangled in his hair, kissing him hard. Her blood pounding through her veins, the sound of her heart echoing loud in her ears. Trembling at his hands running over her body, she leaned in to his touch that she had longed for so long.
Lust and alcohol took over her thoughts, driving her own without anything really processing. Before she knew it his hands were roaming under her dress, the car door was open and they managed to sprawl out across the back seat. They barely broke the kiss, and it didn't take her long to strip his clothing off effortlessly. His lips ran over her neck and jaw, causing her to shudder and tremble at the contact. Biting her lip hard, she fought back the whimpers of pleasure that threatened to escape her lips. There was a moment where he pulled away from her, studying her. The two just stared with the same expression on their faces, she could see the adoration and affection plainly written in his features. He still loved her, no matter what he said or did, she could see it. Emotions overwhelmed her for a moment, and as he told her she was beautiful she swallowed hard, kissing him again hard. She was lost in the moment, just being with him again with the thunder crashing in the background.
When she woke up the next morning, her head hurt. She knew right away that a hangover was coming on, groaning quietly as she felt his finger tracing her cheekbone. It took her a moment to realize, but the memories came flooding back to her with a smack. She murmured his name under her breath, barely audible to him. Smiling slightly, she opened her eyes and pressed herself closer to him, wanting his touch and warmth. Shifting, she realized that she had no clothing on. Blushing slightly, she looked down at his chest. “Morning,” she whispered, snuggling closer to him, trying to forget everything that had happened two years ago. She wanted to assume that everything was how it use to be, even with the nagging voice in the back of her mind telling her she was just going to get hurt again and that it wasn't. The sun was just starting to come up, early rays stretching across the sky and lighting up everything it could touch. No sound came between them, it was hushed but she could feel the slight tension between them. Looking up at him slowly and studying his face, she bit her lower lip slightly.
