i can't tell you what it really is, i can only tell you what it feels like. - - - - - - - - - - As far as commitement went, it had never been her strong point. That was of course until a couple years ago when she learned what it truly meant to be loyal. There was something inside of her that just couldn't settle for the longest time, scared to be tied together by a promise until death do they part. She found it funny that how whenever she was around him that fear went away. Rather than being afraid of that commitement she had it pictured in her mind what her life could be like with him, and how she wanted it to be that way.
Of course, the picture perfect fairytale she always tried to imagine never worked out that way.
Ever since day one, her life loved to take quick turns for the worst and fuck her over. And this moment was one of those times where it fucked her over big time. Sitting down on the floor with her arms wrapped around her legs, leaning against the wall for support. Blue eyes stared around the plain white walls searching for something different then what she had grown accustom too. She had spent too much time in hospitals over the years in these buildings, but usually it was always her tucked away in those beds. That she could deal with. Right now, she wasn't dealing with the fact it was Lucian in those rooms and not her.
Grinding her teeth at the thought, the warm air was heavy with bleach and medicine, causing her to feel naucious once more. Swallowing hard, she watched as the nurse slid out of his room. Looking down at her, she smiled as always (even though Kaitlyn had been far from kind to her) saying that his condition improving. Waiting until she walked off down the hallway, she stood back up. Shoving her hands in her hoodie pockets, she slid in to his room and closed the door quietly behind her. Sitting down in a chair beside his bed she crossed her legs and entwined her fingers together, resting them on her lap.
"Lucian," she said softly. Her voice was tired and hoarse with the pain evidently shining through. Searching his face silently, she waited for his reaction.

I DON’T WANNA TOUCH YOU TOO MUCH BABY cos making love to you might drive me crazy i know you think that love is the way you make it SO I DON’T WANNA BE THERE WHEN YOU DECIDE TO BREAK IT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - He hated this.
He hated hospitals.
Nurses irritated him with their infuriating calm voices cooing to him as if he were a mere child: ‘Don’t stress yourself’, they said. It took all his self-control not to react. Maybe all it took was one more nurse telling him to save his strength, or maybe one more meal of the cardboard and rubber shit they called food. Whatever it was, Lucian could feel his brooding anger building, and it wasn’t going to matter who was around, eventually he’d snap. He never thought of the accident. The only solace he could find was to escape into the confines of his memories and leave reality behind. He also enjoyed the knowledge of the nurses irritation when he didn’t hear a word of their useless chattering. The counselor that came in daily tried to get him to talk of his childhood and family, which had no bearing on his being here. Lucian ignored her, and to his relief her visits where shorter and farther in between as she realized he wasn’t going to bare his soul to her, much less utter a word. The hardest part wasn’t the smell of bleach and death that clung to everything, or the constant parade of nurses and doctors that came through the door.
It was Kaitlyn. Of course. She never ceased to make things harder for them both. He couldn’t stand it when she came in and sat beside his bed as he laid there weak and helpless. The words were like poison in his mind, and he scowled unconsciously. He ignored the nurse as she cooed at him, asking him if he was in pain. He watched her as she made her final checks on his monitors and breathed a sigh of relief when she crossed over to the door. His eyes followed her and paused on the door even as he was left alone in his room with only the sound of his breathing to keep him company. He closed his eyes.
He was an idiot. An idiot who drove too fast. An idiot who couldn’t stand the thought of his girlfriend in the same room as him. He was hurting her, but he didn’t care. Kaitlyn had to stay away and— He stiffened. He didn’t open his eyes but he heard the soft sound of the door opening and right after the smell that was exclusively Kaitlyn filled his nose. He knew his jaw was tightening and he knew that she would notice. He felt it when she sat down and he opened his eyes as she whispered his name. “Get out.”
It was only the same two words he had said from the beginning.

i can't tell you what it really is, i can only tell you what it feels like. - - - - - - - - - - It wasn't hard for her to notice his expression change and tense. She tried not to take it personally considernig that he had been doing it no matter who came in. It still ripped at her heart witht he same feeling of not being wanted, that he didn't want her. Shaking her head at his words, she just shifted in her chair. A cool breeze filled the room, shivering she pulled her hoodie tighter around her. It was cold outside but it offered some fresh air in to the stuffy room. December in California usually meant rain, but never anything this cold. Half of her wanted it to snow for the first time in her life she would be able to see what a white Christmas truly looked like. But then again, she hated snow and probably wouldn't get her all that far. Not that this Christmas looked it was even going to be good, considering Christmas eve had snuck up over the town of Addison and her boyfriend was spending it in the hospital.
"I'm not leaving, Lucian," she said. "Remember when you came back you told me that you weren't going to hurt me again. You promised me. You're doing a shitty job of that."
Sighing for a moment, she glanced outside once more before returning to him. "And it's Christmas eve. I'm not going anywhere, so you can suck up your bruised pride because we're spending it together." Her tone softened by the end, pulling the chair closer to the end of his bed. "How are you feeling, honey?" She asked him quietly, reaching over and gently squeezing his hand. Pale features looked over him wearily, telling the tale of many sleepless and foodless nights. Dark circles clung underneath her eyes, showing the lack of sleep even more. A bag of McDonalds' sat at her feet, the smell wafting through the air. It almost made her naucious, the usual smell that she didn't mind. She felt bad that all Lucian was being fed was hospital food (which was nasty). The cardboard taste and textured food wasn't anything pleasant, so she had went and bought him McDonalds. It hadn't been hard for her decide what to buy him; two double quarter pounders with cheese, an extra large coke and a large side of fries. She had bought herself a bottle of water since she wasn't trusting that she could hold anything down. Glancing over at the door, she prayed that a nurse wouldn't come walking in. She'd probably get screamed at for bringing him this kind of food in a hospital. "I brought you this... I know it isn't turkey dinner like we had intended on having, but I figured you'd rather have this than hospital food on Christmas." Pulling up the bag, she set it on the side of his bed. Smiling at him sadly, she set her hands on her lap once more. - - - - - - - - - - RESERVED FOR-- LU LU AND PAI PAI WORD COUNT-- --- // complete NOTES-- BAM. I DON’T WANNA TOUCH YOU TOO MUCH BABY cos making love to you might drive me crazy i know you think that love is the way you make it SO I DON’T WANNA BE THERE WHEN YOU DECIDE TO BREAK IT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lucian sighed, and ignored Kaitlyn as he stared up at the same stark white ceiling he had been for the past three days. She started talking to him, and he pursed his lips, not paying much attention until she mentioned Christmas Eve. And it was, yet he had completely forgotten about that small piece of information. He groaned inwardly. His mother would be calling, and his sister, wondering where and what he was doing. How was he going to tell them he was spending his Christmas in the Addison General Hospital? He had a bad habit of telling his family nothing, and he didn’t think he wanted to put an end to his on-going streak just yet. Kaitlyn would be mad when she found out, but that only amused him. When she reached out and took his hand, asking him how he was feeling, his turned his head slightly to look at her. His eyes were shadowed by a nasty bruise on his temple, where he had hit his head on the steering wheel of the car, the doctors told him. He didn’t remember. He couldn’t remember anything. The doctors assured him his memory would gradually come back but Lucian wasn’t anxious for that to happen.
He grunted a noncommittal answer, too weary to continue to tell her to get out when all she would do is sit there and talk about nonsense. He smelled the food she brought and his stomach turned over, but he couldn’t tell if he was hungry or nauseous. He hadn’t been eating the hospital food, and the doctors and nurses were getting impatient with him, but he couldn’t care less. He looked her over carefully for the first time since she’d been through the door. She wasn’t eating again, that much was obvious, and from her haggard and tired-looking face, she wasn’t sleeping either. He wanted to throttle her. He sighed sharply, closing his eyes, worry for her eating at his conscience while irritation fought for just as big a hold on him. “What did you get for yourself?” he asked, knowing good and well she didn’t bother getting anything for herself. Always thinking of him, always making him worry with how much she neglected herself.
When Aiden had came in to see him the other night at the most impossible hour—she assured him she didn’t break in, not that he believed her—he’d told her to keep an eye on Kaitlyn. Since Aiden was the only other person that Kaitlyn ever listened to, he’d been confident that she was going to be looked after. He knew it’d take more than one day, but he still couldn’t help being annoyed with Aiden.
Lucian’s hand groped at the side of the hospital bed silently until he found what he was looking for. Pressing the red button in, the bed rose slowly, putting him a slanted up-right position. Eventually he drew his hand away to rub his face. He grabbed the bag of McDonald’s food, opening it and taking out the meal that he nearly always got. He almost smiled wryly, not surprised in the least that Kaitlyn knew that. He took one of the quarter pounders, staring at it in front of his face, feeling no urge to eat. He took a bite, and suddenly he found he was ravenous. He ate that burger and started in on the other, finishing that one before five minutes was up. Gesturing for his drink, he took it when she offered it. He took a pull from the straw, shoved a handful of fries in his mouth and mumbled a reluctant ‘thank you’.
He watched her for a moment, eating fries as he did. “See that chair in the corner? And the leather jacket drapped over it?” He didn’t wait for her to answer. “Go get it.”

i can't tell you what it really is, i can only tell you what it feels like. - - - - - - - - - - She studied him silently as he propped up his bed. The bruises and scratches across his face made her cringe, not because of how it looked- but just the thought of the pain that he could be in. Even bruised and broken, Kaitlyn still found him beautiful. Running her fingers through the ends of the brunette ringlets, she kept a close watch on him as he asked her what she got. She was surprised he even asked, shifting around on the uncomfortable chair once more. "Water," she replied simply, a bottle of water had been it. "Wasn't hungry,"
she added, not that it was anything new. Especially in situations where she found herself stressed. The only thing she had eaten in the last two days had been the coffee and donuts that she practically had been force fed, and then after that Aiden had hovered around making sure they stayed down. Kaitlyn had almost told her that she could go home and that she wasn't bulimic. She hated throwing up, and had no intentions on making herself throw up. She took him saying something other than get out as an improvement and was glad to see he had finally gotten over the fact that she wasn't leaving tonight. Raising her brow at him as he began to shovel in the food, she was almost worried he was going to make himself sick eating that much as quickly as he was. "Easy there," she said quietly, laughing lightly. "Don't make yourself sick." She doubted that he'd eaten much, and devouring all that probably would make it come right back up. She leaned forward on her chair, stealing a french fry from him before popping it in her mouth. It was still warm and she was glad for it. After that she stole the coke from him, taking a sip for herself before handing it back. Just the little amount made her stomach turn slightly, the stress sitting heavily on her shoulders. Smiling softly at his mumbled thank you, "you don't need to thank me," she added. He continued to eat fries, and studied her for a moment. She raised a brow at him, looking over her shoulder at the chair. Nodding, she up, watching him suspiciously as she grabbed the jacket off the chair. "I don't think they're gonna let you wear it," she said to him as she sat back down, setting the jacket over his lap. Pulling her chair closer to him, she sat with her legs pressed against the bed. Leaning over, she stole another fry from him and popped it in her mouth. Leaning forward with her elbows propped on her knees, she presses closer to him and kissed his forehead. "By the way, you're never allowed to scare me like that ever again, do you understand?" - - - - - - - - - - RESERVED FOR-- LU LU AND PAI PAI WORD COUNT-- --- // complete NOTES-- loloblivious CREDITS -- images/text banners etc all copyright to their respectful owners.
