She needed to check on Zazz, whom she had just trailered there the morning before. Zazz did not adjust well to new situations like Rufio did. The best was to get acquainted to a new environment was to go explore it. On her way to her horse’s stalls, she stopped in the tack room to pick up some of her grooming supplies. Alex walked into the barn swiftly and grabbed her two halters that were hung neatly on Rufio’s stall. She hated keeping her horses in the stall; it was like being stuck in your room all day. But she was afraid that Zazz would hurt himself if she left him in the turnout overnight.
Alexandra unlocked Rufio’s stall first, pulling a peppermint out of her pocket and feeding it to the black horse that stood before her. She slipped the green halter over his head, clipped the lead rope on and walked out of the stall. Rufio followed her out into the isle. Alex stopped and hung the lead line over her horse’s neck. “Stay,” she said solidly as she looked Ru in the eye. Her horse firmly planted himself in the spot, and didn’t move.
Next, Alex unlocked Zazz’s stall, walking in. The black and white horse stood in the dark back of the stall, his nose pushed into the corner. “It’s okay,” Alex said soothingly. She took a peppermint out of her pocket and held her and out. Zazz turned his head, seeing the treat in Alex’s hand. He tried to extend his neck to eat the treat with out moving from the corner. “You have to come here to get it.” After a few seconds of waiting Zazz gave in to the temptations. He used his lips to grasp the peppermint and eat it. Alex rubbed his face, “Good boy,” she slipped the halter over his head and led him out of the stall.
Alexandra picked up her grooming tote and hung it from her arm as she lead the two horses out of the barn. She kept a tighter grip on Zazz’s lead knowing that he would bolt at the sight of anything strange. Rufio trailed along behind her, his nose pressed into her upper back, nibbling playfully at her hair. She stopped the horses on a flat grassy area, and started to brush them. Rufio stood there all gentlemen like, not daring to try to sneak a mouthful of grass; Alex was holding him by the end of the lead rope. Zazz on the other hand was fidgety and alert. After a good grooming of both horses, she brought her grooming tote over to a picnic table. I’ll pick it up later when I get back, Alex thought.
Alex had spent the past few days in the hospital due to being in a burning barn for too long and wasn’t supposed to be riding. She was let out yesterday morning and the first thing she did was visit her darling horses. Alex didn’t really care about what other people told her to do; she believed that she knew what was best for herself and her horses (and she usually did).
On that note, Alexandra stood beside Rufio and swung her leg over, mounting her horse effortlessly. She barely ever rode with a saddle anymore, it was really of no use to her, not to mention, she wasn’t using a bridle either. Riding bareback made her feel like a real rider. She didn’t need to ride with tack to know how to control her horse. Alex rested her right hand (with Ru’s lead line) on Rufio’s withers and held on to Zazz’s lead line with the other hand placing it on her hip. She nudged Ru on and headed out onto the trails, baby Zazz trailing behind her.

shake it off WERE ALL DYING IN THE END ![](http://www.degrassi-junkie.net/photos/albums/userpics/10002/normal_IMG_5041.JPG) The morning air woke him with a start as Luke made his way toward the barn. He wanted to get Eights out for a nice, relaxing trail ride today, and figured if he got an early start he wouldn't be bothered. Eights didn't mind other people, but Luke did sometimes. People bothered him. When people just never shut up it makes him want to strangle them. Sure, he liked to talk, but never ending jabber-jawing just made him feel like his head was about to burst, and then he usualy got a bad attitude.
Luke made his way to the rather large buckskin's stall. A smile spread across the seventeen year old boys face as his partner greeted him. The gelding nickered and reached his head toward Luke, obviously inquiring treats. Luke just patted the geldings nose. "After we're ready to go buddy." Luke was always soft with his animals. He only ever used a rough hand when one of them acted up. The excited clatter of nails started rushing toward him as Dixie, Luke's border collie came running towards him. Hey baby girl! You want to come too? huh girlie? He reached down and rubbed the dog's ears. Dixie was three years old and she was Luke's faithful companion. She never had a leash and always came with Luke when he rode. She sat down and her tounge lolled out slightly while he rubbed her ears. Eights snorted in discontent and Luke stood back up, facing the gelding again.
"Okay lets get ready." Luke's voice had a slight tone of amusement as he grabbed the geldings dark green halter and walked into his stall. He slipped the halter over his ears and led him out of the stall and to the cross ties. Eights stood quietly while he was tied, Eying Luke with interest, expecting a treat at any moment. Dixie padded along right behind Luke, while an occasional creak or nicker did catch her attention, she never strayed far. Luke grabbed his brushes and walked back to the gelding. He started by currying all the dirt to the surface of the buckskin coat, although not too much dirt was present. Luke kept all of his animals pretty clean. He groomed them atleast every other day, and before every ride. He even kept Dixie clean. No tangles in her coat. Strange for a farm dog to look like a show dog.
After he finished grooming Crazy Eights, he grabbed his saddle and saddle pad and swung it over Eights back. Startled just slightly, Eights' ears flicked forward. " It's alright boy, today will just be relaxing." He rubbed the geldings ears before cinching up, and clipping the back cinch and breast collar. He never had to use a tie down with Eights, he was a very well behaved horse. He trusted even the youngest of kids and the beginerist of beginers on this horse. Luke patted his shoulder and then grabbed his bridal. Slipping the halter off, he put the bit in the horses mouth and the bridal up over his ears. Eights took the bit very willingly and allowed the bridal to be put on him. After checking all his tack to make sure it was good, which it was, Luke started to lead the fully tacked horse from the barn. Dixie prodded along next to Luke. Eights walked lazily, his head swaying slightly as he walked.
After they where out of the barn, Luke put his foot in the stirrup, and grabbed on to the saddle horn, swinging himself onto the saddle. He gathered his reigns and started to walk towards the trail head. He looked down at Dixie, who had been distracted by something, and whistled. The dog immediatly turned and started running to catch up. As they neared the trail head, Luke noticed two shapes in the head of the trail. It looked like one horse had a rider, and the other was just being ponied. Dixie began to quicken her trot, ears perked. She was a very social dog, which was weird for boarder collies, and seeing these new faces she wanted to meet them. " Dixie, no, Heel." Eights perked his ears, but only quickened his walk slightly.
"Lovely day for a trail ride, eh?" Luke said with a cheery tone, a smile abroad his face. Dixie was only a few paces ahead. He hoped not to startle the horse, as he now noticed the girl was riding bare back. He walked closer to the girl and her horses, but didn't want to get too close, for fear of scaring the horse. "Dixie, here." Luke said, and the dog didn't pay attention, she just continued to sniff around the area.

She turned around to look at Zazz. He looked lonely all by himself, so she swung her legs around so that she was sitting on Rufio backwards. Alex wasn’t worried about where they were going; she knew that she had all day to figure out how to get home. Rufio continued walking forward at a steady pace. Alex ruffled Zazz’s forelock. “You are way too cute,” she said smiling.
The trio walked into the opening of the trails, Alex still sitting backwards. She started to sing out loud. Belting out the words to her favorite song, unaware of anyone around her.
“You wanna know more, more, more about me I'm the girl who's kicking the coke machine I'm the one that's honking at you cuz I left late again
Hey! Hey! Hey!
Could you see I want you by the way I push you away, Ya! Don't judge me tomorrow by the way I'm acting today Mix the words up with the actions do it all for your reaction Ya! Hey! Hey! Get tangled up in me
You wanna know more, more, more about me Gotta know reverse psychology I'm the reason why you can't get to sleep I'm the girl you never get just quite what you see…”
She swung her legs back and forth as she sang. Alex actually had a very nice voice, but she never thought to tell or show anyone. She was a shower singer, not a girl who sang at recitals. She patted Rufio’s croup. An adorable black and white dog trotted toward them followed by a cute guy on a buckskin horse. “Lovely day for a trail ride, eh?” he guy said. “It sure is,” Alex replied with a smile. “Dixie, here.” The dog sniffed around and made a few twigs snap behind her horses. Zazz jumped up, his eyes wide and panic stricken, ready to bolt. Shit, Alex thought. She catapulted herself off Rufio’s back and put her hand over Zazz’s nose. Ru stopped walking where his rider jumped off. This was one of those situations where her ‘emergency dismounting’ practices came in handy. She used to gallop Rufio around the ring and then randomly yell “Emergency dismount!” and jump off into the middle of the arena. Alex was a wild little thing when she was younger. Some of the crazy things she did when she was little she still enjoyed doing.
Alex stood there for a few minutes rubbing Zazz’s face. The dog came into her horses view. She put her hand on her horse’s shoulder and felt him shaking. “Ssh, it’s okay,” Alexandra said in a soothing tone. She slowly let go of her horse and bent down to pet the dog’s head. She scratched Zazz’s withers and watched him stretch his nose forward happily. “See, it’s all good,” she said to her horse.
Ru just stood there, calmly and gentleman-like. Alex was proud of raining him how to do that. Alex looked back at the guy on the buckskin. “You should really keep your dog a bit closer to you,” she said. She didn’t tell him off for two reasons. One: he tried to call the dog back to him. And two: he was kind of cute. Alex pulled a two treats out of her pocket and fed one to each of her horses. They both accepted the cookies happily.

shake it off WERE ALL DYING IN THE END ![](http://www.degrassi-junkie.net/photos/albums/userpics/10002/normal_IMG_5041.JPG) Eight's reigns hung loosely. He didn't ever need to keep a tight reign on the well mannered horse. He excelled at reigning for that very reason. He would move solely off leg and voice cues. He was very intellegent, although he did not always act like it. Eights turned his head around and nudged Luke's foot, as if asking to go faster. He was also a trained barrel horse, so his very contridicting personalities sometimes cut into one anouther. He was a beast at most western events, but reigning was his best. He was pretty good at cutting as well, but Luke's other horse Ace was better when it came to the cow events. He was a natural at them. And then there was his bronc mare, Corona. He was trying to retrain her, but thing's where not working out well. She was an extroidinaraly gentle horse for how she was brought up, until you got a saddle on her. Anybody could get up on her bareback and she was as tame as a kitten. It confused Luke as to why this was, but he figured it was his fault for using her as a bronc.
Luke heard singing, rather beautiful singing, and realized it was the girl on the horse in front of him that was singing. A song he had never heard either, even though he listened to quite a range of music. Dixie had trotted near her, and the girl stopped. He smiled as the girl replied to his question, but didn't get much of a chance to say anything, as within the next moment, Dixie had startled the young horse and the girl emergency dismounted. Oh shit. He said, doing the like and dismounting from his horse. I am so, so so sorry. I didn't think she would be a problem. His voice had a tinge of concern. He stood beside Eight's, whose ears where perked forward at the excitement. As the girl reached down to scratch Dixie, the border collie rolled over onto her back, wanting a belly rub, not realizing she had done anything wrong.
When the girl said he should keep his dog closer, he rubbed the back of his head, not really knowing what to say. " Are you alright? You and your horses?" It was pretty obvious that they where, but it was always the polite thing to appologize when you or your animals cause a problem. He knelt down on the ground and patted his knee slightly. " Dixie, come here babe." The dog trotted over to him, her head down slightly, thinking she was in trouble. Luke scratched her ears, and she rolled over onto her back again. " My name's Lucifer, or Luke, or whatever you want to call me. This here is Dixie, and the studly horse over there is Crazy Eights. " Luke looked up at the girl, his hazel-brown eyes warm. He hoped she wasn't mad. She was cute, he couldn't help but notice. And obviously good with horses. Eights, feeling left out, walked over and began to lip at Lukes hair. Luke just laughed and kept rubbing Dixie's belly.

The girl always believed that your horse could only be as brave as you are. It was true in some cases. Alex had run into a burning stable to save her two horses; Rufio would jump over the Grand Canyon for her. Zazz on the other hand, is permanently traumatized because of the incident.
The dog rolled over onto her back as Alex scratched her head. “I am so, so so sorry. I didn’t think she would be a problem,” the guy said as he dismounted his horse. “Oh, she wasn’t much of a problem, my horse is just a bit of a spazz,” Alex stated as she rubbed the dog’s belly. She stood up. “Are you alright? You and your horses?” he asked. “I’m totally fine, Zazz here is a bit shaken up,” she said as she gently stoked his neck, “And Rufio is…well, just Rufio.” She laughed a bit at that as she looked over at her pitch black gelding standing beside her. Alex didn’t really know how to describe Ru’s reaction. He kind of just went with the flow in that situation. Rufio is used to Alex’s random stunts. She used to stand up on his back and jump on and off of him randomly.
The guy called his dog back over to him. “My name’s Lucifer, or Luke, or whatever you want to call me. This here is Dixie, and the studly horse over there is Crazy Eights.” Alex gave her horse one last check to see if he was okay and then walked back over to Rufio, who was standing there waiting patiently. Alex coughed a bit before mounting, inhaling all of the smoke just days before had done quite a bit of damage to her; she ignored it and continued on with what she was about to do. She grabbed a lock of his mane and swung her leg over, mounting effortlessly. “Back to where I was before," she said as she swung her legs around so that she was, once again, she was sitting looking over her horse’s butt.
Alex decided to introduce herself before she continued their ride. “I’m Alexandra, but everyone calls me Alex. This fine manly chunk right here,” she patted the top of Rufio’s butt, “is Braveheart, or Rufio for short. And my little wimp over there is Pizazz. I call him Zazz though.” She smiled at Luke, he was cute, and looked around the same age as herself. She hoped that he didn’t worry too much about her. Alex, after all, was one tough chick. She would never back out of a dare and loved to walk on the wild side of life. One would say she’s an adrenaline junkie, others think she is just crazy. Alex would admit that she is a bit of both, well, who isn’t?
Alex nudged Ru with her calf to encourage him to walk forward. “Would you like to accompany me on my ride on this lovely day?” she asked with a smile. “How long have you been at Crossfire?” she asked curiously. She regretted saying that immediately after the words left her lips. She would have to explain her whole week to a guy on a studly horse. Though she didn’t really mind talking to him, in fact, she enjoyed it, reliving the past week would be a bit painful for her.

shake it off WERE ALL DYING IN THE END ![](http://www.degrassi-junkie.net/photos/albums/userpics/10002/normal_IMG_5041.JPG) Luke would give his life for the ones he loved, his animals most of all. He was not usualy like that with most people, as he had never had a great relationship with people. He had never 'been in love'. Sure, he had a lot of past girlfriends but none he really cared much for. More like one night stands and things like that, but not a real commitment. He would know when he found her, the girl he wanted to be with, but in the mean time, he had his animals to care about. His three horses and his dog meant the world to him, and that would never change. He had a soft side and he was not afraid to show it. Most guys liked to act tough all the time, but he wasnt one of them. Sure, he could hold his own in a fight and he knew it, but he prefered to be nice & have a good attitude. He always belived in having a good relationship with your horses, which meant treating them nice. He never really used much force, which could be a bad habit but none of his horses really needed it much.
Luke had always been a jock in school. Football, soccer, basketball and baseball. A sport for every season. He loved playing sports. It was always easy for him to get girls. He was quarterback and captain of the football team, and face it, what girl wouldn't want to date that? He knew how he ranked in popularity standereds, and he wasn't afraid to show it. That was, until he learned popularity wasn't everything. He still plays all his sports, but he learned to start focusing on school as well as sports. He had started sports mainly so he could be away from his dad longer. Ever since his mom and sister had died, his dad had become very abusive. He was a drunk, and a mean one at that. Luke had a gun pointed at him & had taken a bullet because of his abusive father. And worst of all, in the hospital, Luke's dad told the doctors that Luke had tried to committ suicide. Because of that, Luke was put on suicide watch, and so everybody at school immediately thought he was a suicidal depressed maniac- which was far from the truth.
As the girl said everybody was okay, except the horse called Zazz was a bit shaken, Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out an apple flavored horse cookie. " Mind if I give him this? As a bit of an appology?" Luke smiled, and waited to see what the girl said. He knew it was always polite to ask before you fed someone elses horse. Eight's reached over Luke's shoulder and tried to grab the cookie, and Luke pulled it away. " Eh eh, you will get your turn after we ride. You know how you get on these things. " He stroked the obviously offset geldings nose and looked back at the girl. He couldn't help but be attracted to her. She was pretty, and looked around his same age.
The girl easily mounted her horse bareback, and Luke was impressed. Although he knew girls where more flexible than guys, he had one hell of a time mounting bareback. His balence was also god awful, so he usualy didn't ride bareback because he tended to fall off. Luke hadn't mounted yet, watching the girl yet with an interested look. He almost wanted to stare, but didn't, because staring was rude and he tried to be gentlemen like.
Alexandra, or Alex, was what she introduced her self as. She introduced her two horses as Rufio and Zazz. Very nice names. Beautiful horses too. His gaze was caught on the stunning paint. He was absolutley georgious. He suddenly found himself wishing that he could get his bronc mare bred to a horse like this paint. Nicely built. Corona produced some good foals, but his current goal was to get her trained to ride. He loved riding bronc, but there where not many bronc busters around here, and not many rodeo's. There was roping competitions, which was his best events. He glanced down momentaraly at his almost overly large belt buckle which read "TEAM ROPING CHAMPION, TERRA VALLEY ROUND UP, 2010" on it. He smiled slightly. One of the many prized belt buckles he had.
He smiled as Alex asked if he wanted to accompany her. " Sure, Id love too. " He said, gathering Eights reigns and mounting up on the large buckskin. He got his feet in the right place, and then she asked how long he had been here. Oh not even a week so far, how about yourself?" He looked over at her, his eyes warm and sparking with interest.

That was a very gentlemanly thing to do. She appreciated his effort. Alex gave Zazz a kiss on the nose, rubbing his forehead, “You’re alright now, aren’tcha?” She turned around and swung her leg over Rufio’s back, mounting effortlessly. She introduced herself and her horses to Luke as she flipped around so that she was sitting on Ru backwards facing him. “Very nice names. Beautiful horses too,” he said. “Why thank you,” Alexandra said with a cute little smile, “You have a fine looking buckskin there yourself.” She then asked him if he would like to accompany her. “Sure, I’d love to,” he replied. Alex watched him mount up on his horse. The guy was quite cute and very gentlemanly. Not a lot of people would stop and get off their horse to check and see if you were all right. He seemed to be a knight in shining armor.
Alexandra asked Luke how long he has been at Crossfire. When he replied that he hadn’t even been there a week, she was stunned. He, his horse and his dog seemed as if they had been here for a while. She nudged Rufio with her calf, asking him to walk on as she gave a light tug on Zazz’s lead rope to make him follow. “Its only my second day here, but my horses have been here for about a week,” she stated. “I would have been here sooner if I wasn’t in the hospital for so long.” The words escaped her lips. She did not want anyone to know about the fire, but if Luke asked she wouldn’t lie to him.
Alex knew that she wasn’t ready for another guy in her life, the ‘more than friends’ type, that is. Too much heartbreak, too much drama. Now that she had just moves, things were quite busy for her, not to mention that she had missed her first week as a Junior in a new school. The word has probably gotten around the school by now that ‘the new girl was in the hospital because of a fire’ or something of the sort. She wished that none of this had ever happened and that she was still back at her old barn before it burned down.
Looking into Luke’s warm, sparkling eyes, she felt comforted. Being in his presence made her feel at home. Her ocean green eyes caught a glimmer by Luke’s saddle. “I see you have a team roping belt there,” Alexandra said, “Champion, eh? That’s pretty awesome.” Alex was an easy girl to talk to, never a dull or awkward conversation with her. All of the girls liked her; all of the guys loved her. She was an easy person to get along with. “Your probably wondering what style I ride in, seeing as I’m not using any kind of tack at the moment,” she said with a bit of a laugh. “I can ride either way. Started out western, then switched to English. Now I just go with the flow,” Alex said smoothly.

shake it off WERE ALL DYING IN THE END ![](http://www.degrassi-junkie.net/photos/albums/userpics/10002/normal_IMG_5041.JPG) At Alex's approval, Luke smiled and offered the treat to Zazz. He felt bad for his dog startling the poor horse, and thought maybe a treat would clear things up. Dixie came and sat faithfully by his side, her tail wagging gently back and forth across the dirt. Luke laughed slightly at Alex's comment about Eights. " Yeah, hes a pretty good horse. I trust little kids on him. He's a complete gentlemen." Luke was a compulsive liar. He always had been. Hardly a word that came out of his mouth was true. But for some reason, he felt immediatly after meeting Alex, that he did not have to lie to her. He did not know why, but it just seemed to him like he didn't have to. Just her presence made him feel, truthful? That had never been a way to describe Lucifer Chandler, but he could not find a reason to lie about anything. Usualy he would have came up with his whole (fake) life story by now, but he felt like Alex deserved the truth, if she ever wanted it. Luke also tended to be an extreme player, but he hadn't found any girl he really liked yet. He had only just met Alex, but already felt an immediate connection with her.
Alex had not been at Crossfire long, only two days. And her horses a week. I thought Rufio looked familiar. I think his stall is near Ace's. Luke smiled. Then she made her comment about the hospital, and he felt immediatly concerned. He almost never felt concerned about anybody-or anything- except for his animals. Damn. He thought to himself. What is this? It felt strange to him to really feel like he cared about somebody he hardly knew. He had always been the bad boy type. Never had much of a care in the world. He had a bit of a criminal history going for him as well, but he was almost never caught. He was pretty good about those things. " What happened?" He couldn't help but be curios. And if somebody mentioned being in the hospital, they probably wanted to tell thier story, right?
Luke had been at the school in Addison since his sophomore year, now being only a junior it had not been long. He had never lived too far, but he drives to the school in Addison school every day. But he had just recently moved his horses here because he wanted a reason to be away from home more. He never told anybody about his abusive father. That was one part of his life he kept very well hidden. He spent a lot of time at school where he was fairly popular. He knew that there was more to life than popularity, but he was Quarterback and captain of the football team. He usualy had girls fawning all over him. He couldn't really think of a time when he didn't, but he never had a steady girlfriend for long. He glanced over at Alex, now with the thought of school on his mind. " So, are you going to be going to school here in Addison? " This would also be a 'sly' way for him to determine how old Alex was, rather than just asking. Wasn't it like, the age old rule to never ask a women her age?
Alex had caught sight of Lukes buckle, and it make Luke smile slightly. " Yep. Team roping champ, also have a couple others. Bronc riding, steer wrestling, individual roping... Got a buckle in practically every rodeo event with my two boys, Eights and Ace. He patted Eight's shoulder, very happy to say how awesome his geldings where. Whiskey was more his practice horse, since you canot ride your own bronc in the rodeos. He took a lot of pride in his horses, and his prizes. He enjoyed talking to Alex, even though it had only been a few minutes. She was obviously easy going, since she hadn't bitten his head off for him letting his dog run loose. She had said how she rides english and western and Luke smiled. " Awesome. I have never sat in an english saddle in my life. Quite frankly I belive I would look ridiculous in one. I ride all western events, and we like to take trail rides, long walks on the beach... you know.. the usual. " He said with somewhat of a flirtatious smile. He was always like that.
Eights puffed and pawed at the ground slightly. Luke just laughed. " So, shall we get going?" He said, glancing over to Alex.

Alexandra could tell that he wanted to make amends with her horse, and she was sure that her little man would forgive him. When Lucifer said that his horse was quite a gentleman, Alex smiled and replied, “I’ll bet. You are quite a gentlemen yourself. Very chivalrous,” she paused for a minute, looking down at the dirt, “Not a lot of people would jump off of their horses to see if my horse and I were alright. In the show ring, people just keep riding. But you, on the other hand didn’t. I like that.” Alex stopped herself before she got too deep into this conversation.
Luke said that he thought Rufio looked familiar and that his stall is near Ace’s. “I’m not sure, but we can find out when we get back later,” Alex said. She was pretty sure that there was a horse named Ace somewhere near Ru. She mentioned the hospital and the expected reaction came from the guy. “Ah, um...barn fire?” She didn’t want to go into all of the details. “Basically, I wasn’t thinking correctly and ran into the barn to save some of the horses, including Ru and Zazz,” she said as she patted the horse she was riding. Alex didn’t want to really go that far into that conversation. She didn’t like to talk about it.
“So, are you going to school here in Addison?” Lucifer asked. “Yeah. I’m starting junior year and I was already recruited for the soccer and basketball teams,” Alex replied. She was proud of being recruited, not that this was the first time. Other teams back in Houston had also requested her. She loved those sports as much as she liked horseback riding. Her teams were her second family. She caught sight of Luke’s team roping buckle. “Congrats, that stuff takes skill, and, well, I guess you’ve got skill,” a slight chuckle escaped her lips.
Luke mentioned long walks on the beach with a flirtatious smile and Alex couldn’t help but return the smile. “I like long rides on the beach too,” she said with a cute little half smile. Lucifer seemed pretty down to earth, and she liked that. He asked if they should get going. Alex flipped back around on Rufio so that she was sitting normally and slowed him down so that Luke and Eights can walk next to her. She boxed herself in between Zazz and Eights knowing that Ru couldn’t care less, asking them to walk forward. Alex looked over at Luke and flashed him a quick smile and then looked away.
