Katie sighed to herself she should have just stayed with Greta Janus. Where someone for once actually loved her. She should have stayed where she had been where she had been happy for once. Giving one last small sigh Katie turned off the car and stepped out. Her cowgirl boots made little puffs of dirt come up from the really dry ground. Her pink button down was undone and she had a light blue tank top on underneath. Katie's faded from use denim shorts looked very light it the mid afternoon sun as she slamed the much loved but rusty red pickup trucks door.
Hurrying to the barn she walked slowly up the aisle and arrived at Twisters stall his brother looking quite unhappy in his little box in which was plenty big but just not to his liking. Twister on the other hand found the box perfect with the food right there you didn't even have to walk to find it, and you never ran out of water. When he saw Katie coming towards his stall his ears went back and looked as grump as possible.
Distracting him with a treat she slipped a halter over his head and led him out of his stall. As so as he was free from the box he kept throwing his head and 1/2 rearing and just generally being troublesome. Finally after 10 minutes of struggling with the small, but very wild and independent mustang Stallion, Katie managed to get him to the cross ties. Katie took a deep breath telling herself that she would not be frustrated with the stallion that it must be really hard for him to loose his freedom.
Katie moved away to get the saddle pad with a built in girth but no saddle. Brushing him down was a challenge, even though she could easily reach the top of his back he kept acting up and stepping on her toes. Finally after another hour or so she was ready and so was he. But they where destined for disaster. As soon as Katie grabbed the lounge line and dressage whip, Twist decided he had had enough of this nonsense and wanted to run. Katie praised the lord that she had though better to have put the stud chain on or else she would have no control at all.
Wrestling him into the arena she gave him the slack he so desperately wanted. Letting him get his bucks out because this was the first time he had been out of a small confined area is at least a week. Katie flicked the whip at his heels and he took off like a rocket around and around and around he went. Never slowing for about twenty minutes, Katie was patient and let him slow his speed to a comfortable lope, but every time he tried to slow down further she would just flick the whip at his heels and off he would go again.
2 hours later Katie made a break through. The Proud mustang stallion lowered his head, this told Katie that he was willing to bargain with her. Chasing after the stallion he kept his head low and mouth was now foaming. Then Katie dropped the lounge line and whip and turned her back to the stallion. Katie who now faced the entrance noticed for the first time that someone had been watching her.

&& they want us to come and get it [/SIZE]  LIAM CONRAD[/size][/center] Liam didn’t have too much planned for the day considering Leah was out and about with Rancid, touring around the trails probably or ripping around the arena like the wild woman she was. With his little sister completely occupied on something constructive like that, he could have a little time to himself to work with his other two horses. Georgia was typically pretty push-button, so it stood to reason that he ought to work with the two year old Solstice and get all the shenanigans over with if there were going to be any. He meandered quite comfortably into the barn aisle, not bothering to hide the fact that he was sizing up every female he saw as well as acknowledging the guys with the universal head nod. He didn’t have much covering his muscular body, just a black wife-beater (to attract heat you know, it is fall after all) along with a handsome pair of men’s Wranglers and tough cowboy boots he’d had for a few years. They were perfectly broken in and were as comfortable as being barefoot to him.
As he found the cremello filly’s stall, he reached across the open upper half to offer her a peppermint he’d had cleverly hidden before sliding the door open. Taking the black rope halter off the outer hook, he stepped in causing her head to toss about in her excitement of getting out of this stallion for the first time since being hauled here a few days before. She stood quietly while he looped the rope through and he led her out, the two year old Quarter Paint prancing quite elegantly alongside him. He smiled sideways at her, liking how she put no pressure on the lead despite the fact that she was jigging beside him. She was extremely responsive, much like Georgia, and he hoped Leah would appreciate her when he gave the filly to his younger sibling. Hooking the filly into a wash stall, he set about grooming her to pristine perfection, her rare cremello coat shining and blue eyes bright with eagerness at the lesson she was sure would follow.
On the way out of the barn Liam was careful to snatch up a lightweight Western saddle along with blanket and training bridle before heading out towards the smaller outdoor arena where round pens were set up for people to use, or free longing could be employed within the fenced arena. Not surprisingly, there was a woman already inside the arena working with what appeared to be a fully intact scruffy range stallion who was none to pleased with his current workout. Liam dropped the tack in a pile next to the gate, stepping forward to lean against the thick fencing and watch while she longed, or attempted to longe, her stallion around. Obviously he was admiring her backside a bit more than he was admiring the stallion’s build, but that was nothing of consequence.
Impatient, Solstice stomped about behind him for a moment before taking an interest in the stallion as he suddenly stopped, the woman turning on her heel and dropping the equipment to let him come of her own accord. Liam took tighter grip on the filly’s rope; if that stallion decided a young mare was more interesting than his owner he wasn’t about to let him get by unscathed.
Yes, it was fenced, but horses could jump when they really wanted something. His tension didn’t show outwardly, though, especially considering her face diverted his attention as she looked directly at him. He smirked, offering a lazy wave of the hand from the fence line. His eyes were bright and obviously interested, but sex was always the first thing on Liam’s mind until the woman started talking. He’d had it too hard; he didn’t have time for a relationship, much less was he willing to risk tying himself down when he had so much more to live for. Not only that but being eligible for being shipped out overseas wasn’t the best start of a conversation. What woman wanted to wait around in a long distance relationship where she couldn’t even talk to him on a regular basis? Exactly. He stood with one leg crossed over the other, the resting leg set up on the toe of his boot and arms resting most of his upper torso on a fence panel. Solstice stood still beside him, suddenly decided to whinny excitedly at the new horse instead of standing quietly like himself. [/size][/blockquote] plus they like a young thug that’s

Katie listened to the stallions hoof steps as they carried him towards her. Then something went wrong, she turned around and the stallion was watching the young looking mare and her master with a calculative expression as if seeing how to best attack and add the mare to his little band. The man did the wrong thing by stepping in front of the mare and to Twist that was a challenge. Katie quietly and calmly walked up to the tired stallion and clipped his lead rope on. Thats when everything went down hill. The stallion was not happy being tied to a rope and decided to do something about it. Twist reared Katie wasn't close to ready and the rope was almost yanked out of he hands. Though somehow she managed to hang on. Once again the stallion tried to rear but this time he didn't get the better of her and Katie prevented him from rearing again.
Keeping him on the ground was hard work but Katie was winning the war, but she knew she had to get him away from the source of his distraction. Which was the man and the Filly. Seeing as she was stuck in the pen with an angry sort of scared and unruly stallion. She was going to have to tell the man somehow that he needed to take the filly away. Try to keep control of the stallion, Katie motioned for the man to take the filly away. When that didn't work she was force to yell. "YOU OVER THERE WITH THE FILLY TAKE HER AWAY NOW!" Even though she was yelling at him her voice didn't sound hysterical, if you could sound calm, focused and assertive while yelling that is what Katie sounded like. The stallion was tiring and she could tell, but so was she. Barely being able to drag the stallion to the opposite pen. But finally gaining ground she got him over there and out of sight of the retreating form of the filly and man that had caused so much trouble. Of course it had not been there fault at all it was just Twist was acting up and she hadn't been prepared she should have had the lounge line on but he hated that, so she just decided that this one time that she wouldn't make him wear it. Katie would never do that again that was for sure.
35 minutes after the encounter with the man and the filly, Twist was back in his stall and not happy at all. Katie had sat down outside Twists stall and put her hands on her head. She had the worst headache ever and her legs felt like jello. Hearing the sound of hooves and a mans voice she stood up quickly and the world started spinning, but she didn't show at all thanks to her practice hiding her feelings and physical state all thanks to her abusive father. Katie took a step forward and saw it was the man and the pretty filly. She needed to apologize to him for twists behavior. The man stopped at the end of the hall and Katie walked steadily down to him. "Hey, look I am sorry about Twists behavior before in the pen with him like freaking out. He usually isn't like that..." She trailed off and the world started spinning once again so she just leaned against the wall in a casual position again showing no emotions on her face. "The names Katie Normandy. You are?"
