She really wondered what exactly he had up his sleeve, what his deal was? Well besides being blunt she hadn’t quite figured him out. She ran him over and over again mentally, she really didn’t know what to expect from this guy. One second he seemed to come off like a bit of a prick the next he was laughing with her and having a good old time. Well whatever his deal Madi couldn’t help but smile and laugh with him. She was a victim really, while she liked to do things her own way she was prone to being swayed as well. Thus far Lucas had done just that, he had managed to insult her or at least give it a pretty good shot and here she was laughing with the guy. Oh well, whatever he was a straight shooter and she wasn’t judging, she knew much better than to do that. Well she was judging but not basing much off of what she came up with, people weren’t always as simple or complex as they seemed. There was always more than met the eye, which is perhaps why Madison was okay with Lucas, his dry humour and straight up ways were maybe what was pulling her in, perhaps it was a small bit of envy coming out. The fact that he seemed to have no problem always being honest, no holding back in what he thought or said made Madi for just a moment envious of the way he was brought up, though when he spoke again he snapped her out of it. She smirked, her words fell effortlessly he really was becoming quite easy to converse with.
So should I consider game on starting now then?
She grinned, the man wasn’t hiding anything. He had ruled out her being taken she had figured that one out as soon as he asked, now with her permission he would peruse. Well at least she was clear on what exactly he was up to, she wouldn’t be too worried about crossing a line or anything, not that she normally crossed them but she wasn’t a fan of being in limbo either. Those awkward moments where you don’t really know what exactly the other person thought of you, if the fun they were stabbing was for jokes cause they liked you or if it was genuine laughing at you. Well thus far Lucas was making that part of her life pretty easy, so the conversation flowed and the awkward start to the meeting was vanished. She settled in her stance, frame relaxed and face beaming, smiling was something she did almost naturally she didn’t think about it much but apparently her smile was hard to miss, something that drew people to her. She figured Lucas had relaxed too, as he spoke once more Madi found herself smiling even more, chuckling lightly. That was probably the most honest thing she had really heard a guy say, it certainly beat the things she had heard in the past and for whatever reason she was inclined to believe Lucas even though she figured he could be a prick just like anyone else could.
So that’s the truth is it? All of it? Well it wasn’t so bad, to fast? No Lucas I think you’re a little behind actually.
She smirked, he was really coming to life and it was bringing the same out of her. She hadn’t imagined this happening when they first started talking, she smirked to him, settled in her stance. Runninga spare hand through her long dark locks she looked over to him leaning against the stall door. Oh the hotshot, he was pretty proud of himself right now. She would give him this one he was doing an amusing job of entertaining her and he was making the day pass with a lot more character than it would have originally.

“I suppose you should consider it game on,” Lucas agreed, flashing Madison another grin. He knew he was being a bit of an enigma, he supposed. It was just his way, he never really stayed on the same tangent when it came to his mood, or how he acted around someone. Better to shake things up a bit than let the conversation grow stale, right? And, he hadn’t had an even vaguely interesting conversation in a while, and this little morsel so far was keeping him from getting bored. She was playing along with it, which just drove him to keep talking, to keep her interested. He needed the interaction, despite his personality, he thrived off human contact, so the conversation they were having was the perfect thing to keep him from going insane, becoming snarky whenever anyone started talking to him, or crossed his path at the wrong time.
Madison was smiling now, obviously his words were capturing his interest. Okay, he had to admit it. He was an attention whore.
“No Lucas I think you’re a little behind actually,” were her next words, and he had to laugh.
“I think you’ll find I’m more ahead than you think I am,” he said, tapping the side of his nose in a knowing manner. He watched carefully for her reaction, surprised to say that he was actually intrigued as to what she would come back to with that. He began toying with his pair of aviators again, never the type to keep still for too long, at least moving the slender object around in his hands would stop him from getting too fidgety. His parents had always joked that they swore he had attention deficit disorder or something...that, or he consumed far too much sugar for his own good. Even at twenty three years of age, some habits were just too ingrained to knock now, take the fidgeting for example.
“Maybe I had this whole conversation planned before I even said hello. Did you think of that?” he queried, cocking one eyebrow at her, the cheeky look creeping across his face again. He was definitely having fun with this.

Madison didn’t find him intimidating at all, at first she figured his honesty could go either way and maybe it still could though as she laughed along with him she started to worry less and less about what he was going to say next and instead found herself starting to look forward to it. The prick had her hooked, well sort of. She was amused, slightly impressed and enjoying herself. She figured for a first conversation they weren’t doing too bad, well he wasn’t anyways she had pretty much agreed to give him her number. Smile didn’t seem to ever get to chance a rest, for as he spoke again she found herself grinning again. Her poor face would start to hurt soon, she smiled naturally but the added emotions strained her face muscles slightly. Letting herself relax she chuckled lightly and nodded to him, eyes hitting ground for a moment she bit her bottom lip and let it moisten up a little. She looked up to him again, still smiling she didn’t really have much to say to that. She was ready for him to play the same way he had been all along, cunningly and not at all boring she was intrigued actually. She leaned into her mare’s stall door, crossing her ankles she kept one hand rested on her hip – she arched a brow for a moment before chuckling. She was ready Lucas, go ahead give it your best shot.
As he spoke again, tapping his nose she smirked her smile seemed to explode chuckling partially at him. Oh really? Had he really expected things to go just his way, he had known she was the type to apologise too much just by looking at her? Or would he have picked something else to insult her about? As he played with his glasses she looked to his eyes, certainly they told no lie he was really just playing with her though he seemed pretty absorbed in the glasses. She was silent for a moment, almost stumped it seemed then her own tone hit the air.
The whole thing hey? Then you should be able to tell me what exactly is going to happen next, word for word please.
She smirked to him, her grin was teasing. Of course he would have something to say to her, but what did it matter she wasn’t concerned about winning this little word war she was having too much come to even care about coming out on bottom – which wasn’t usual for her as she strived to win all the time. Looking in on her bay mare Madison smirked, the horses usually brought out the most competition in her but it seemed to flow into almost everything she did. Straightening herself up she stood on her own, not leaning on the stall anymore and she uncrossed her legs. She was shorter than he was, looking up she had her arms crossed across her chest, waiting most patiently for what was going to happen next with their little meeting she was having way to much fun with this one – but it let her forget what was really on her mind.
