Emily's dog, a massive German Shepherd, walked quietly at her side. But while the brunette seemed completely at ease, the dog was at full alert. His ears flicked constantly, his gaze steady, but scanning around him for any kind of a threat. Near them romped a sable German Shepherd female, a lanky dog whose form made it clear she was still a puppy. Despite her obvious youth, her eye was always on her mistress, allowing her to be off leash. In fact, both dogs were off leash, but the black and tan male was glued to her side. He was on duty, for all intensive purposes. Whenever someone came near, his fur would bristle, but he wouldn't move from her side. Suddenly a guy walking his border collie came into view. The female's ears perked, and she strained against her invisible barrier. Ziva. Emily said quietly, but with a commanding tone. The dog immediately scampered to her side, falling into place beside Jamie. Ziva, the sable female, gave her blue eyed owner a pleading look. But both she and Jamie stared straight ahead, ignoring the man and his dog, but keeping them in their range of vision. As soon as they had passed the pair, Emily found a bench and nodded at Ziva. Okay, sweetheart. she said quietly, smiling as the dog took off across the park, she made a wide arc and was headed back before she had gotten too far. Emily loved watching a German Shepherd run. They were such magnificent animals. The only thing she hated was when hip dysplasia ruined a poor dog's run. Pain would cross their face, and they would slow down until they didn't hurt. That was why her dogs were tested for their hips, and their parents and grandparents also had not hip issues. Every now and then she would get a dog with it, but most of the time they were perfectly healthy until old age gave them arthritis. Now Ziva was torturing Jamie, not understanding he was staying because Emily had told him to. He was tolerant until she began mouthing his legs. Then he gave a frustrated growl, and she slunk under Emily's legs. She looked so absolutely saddened that Emily took pity on her. At ease, Jamie. The male looked at her, and she nodded. Then he turned into a different dog. He pawed playfully at Ziva, who looked so happy she would burst. Then they took off, mouthing each other and growling playfully. They raced around in the grass, and Emily's face formed a soft smile as she watched them. They were a part of her family, as much as children would be.

![](http://i56.tinypic.com/nnvg8w.jpg) Grabbing at the baggy tank top she had recently adorned prior to leaving her home, Ana sighed uncomfortably. Bemused, she could only watch as people trudged around the park in jeans, long-sleeved t-shirts, and the occasional sweatshirt. Grasping the cool water bottle she had in a death grip, she found herself moving further and further into the park's confines. If she was lucky she might be able to find a bench with a decent amount of shade to shield her from the heat.
"At least I got the day off."
That was probably the only upside to this rather bland, heat filled day. She pressed the water bottle to her forehead and revealed in the cooling sensation it had on her warm skin. It was weather like this that made wish that it was socially acceptable to walk around in the nude. She was already showing enough skin with her shirt and shorts to fill anyone with shame.
"Beautiful dogs."
She gave a broad smile as she stopped in front of the girl. It couldn't hurt to make small talk, especially when the benefit of shade was involved. She tilted her head back and glanced into the shadowy darkness of the tree ahead. Oh what sweet relief it brought.
"I'm Zuzanna Bencova, though most people call me Ana. Pleasure to meet you," she extended her hand out for a friendly shake.

Quick as a snap, Jamie was headed her way as the girl drew near. Emily, having her in her sights and deeming her harmless, snapped at her dog. Black and tan shepherd stopped in his tracks, obviously conflicted. Ziva, being the happy puppy she was, scampered to the newcomer and trotted at her side until she stopped. Then she made her desire to be petted obvious by sitting smack dab in front of the blonde and giving her those puppy dog eyes she was famous for. At least, famous for with Emily. Thank you. Emily said quietly, smiling at them. This prompted Jamie to come over, but Emily ordered him to the side away from the girl. Pet Ziva all you like, she said, motioning to the sable puppy sitting at the girl's feet, but don't pet Jamie. She pointed at the dog sitting quietly at her side. His fur bristled as Ana put out her hand, but Emily shushed him, and he glanced at her and flattened his fur. She shook the blonde's hand, giving a firm, but short, handshake. You are welcome to sit down, if you want. She said with a smile. She too wore a tank top, a red one that set off her stunning blue eyes. Her jean shorts came down to just above the knee. If the girl was observant, she might catch a glimpse of the round scar that adorned the back of her shoulder. Obviously a bullet wound long healed, it made for some interesting questions.
