just can't play nice The day seemed to rampage on for Reason. She was, as always, late for anthropology. She skipped breakfast than hardly made it to her equine husbandry class. The heat was already taking its imprint on her so when class finally let out at two and she was free for the rest of the day she couldn’t of been happier knowing her lambo and the barn was air conditioned.
She practically sped to the barn. She loved the fact that none of the cops even saw her. Or maybe they did they were just too busy stuffing their faces. She didn’t know she was just glad that they hadn’t imposed on her getting to the barn. She smiled and drastically slowed as she pulled into the drive. She loved the drive up to the barn, she never knew why but she always took her time down the drive. Finally reaching the parking lot she slipped the sleek navy colored car into a parking space and stepped out, sliding her sunglasses onto her head. She had kept her riding boots and breeches in the car so when class had let out she had ran to the restroom and changed.
Walking into the barn she heard Trouble’s all too familiar whinny of welcome. She smiled and walked over to his kissing his soft black muzzle. His ears perked and she smiled. She was rather smaller than the horse but man did they work together. Reason went and retrieved her black jumping saddle and black and white flash bridle from the tack room and grabbed Trouble’s halter. He was always an easy catch and for most of the time would lead by hand with no need for a lead shank. So she just moved him to the cross tie and hooked him. Running a brush over his back she placed the navy and gold pad on his back followed by the saddle. Than she wiped his face off with a towel and fought the bit into his mouth. That was the worst part of gearing him up. The bit. But she managed to keep all of her fingers attached, for now.
Leading him out was always hard so she just led him to the barn doors and swung up. Warm-up wasn’t necessary, that’s why he received an hour and a half of turn out every day, just like clockwork. Her blue eyes looked over the arena’s the far one and largest had a small jumping pattern set up and that is exactly what they needed. To practice their jumping. Trouble had picked up throwing a buck after jumps so she needed to get him to work through it. She let him walk in that she picked up a nice even canter. She felt him come under her perfectly though his strides were long, he knew during laps he collected. She brought him to a walk than observed the course. All of the jumps were around three and a half maybe four feet. An easy work for the large stallion, but good enough to get him to stop bucking.

![](http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f88/13thCINDERELLA/whatsomonelikeyou.png) Codi rubbed the space between Beau's ears with nimble fingers. She played with his forelock and brushed it down over the tiny white hairs that barely made the tiny star on his forehead. Gentle lips kissed his forehead where his forelock tapered into nothing. She didn't really have a game plan today, he'd been working really good the past few days and she may not have ridden at all today if it hadn't been for the fact that she just really wanted to see her horse. She'd been acting like an over protective mother since she bought him back from Bennett and had spent nearly her entire day at the barn lately because she still hadn't managed to find a job in Addison.
At that thought she exhaled sharply. Moving was such a major disaster. It was the right thing to do, and she was glad that she was here, but it was still a huge undertaking. There was still so much she had to do, including find a roommate for that itsy bitsy apartment she'd just put a deposit down on and paid the first months rent for. But she wasn't here to dwell on things that needed to be done, in fact, she was here to forget all about them.
Tugging on Beau's lead rope she untied him from the wash rack where she had groomed and saddled him and led him out in front of the barn. Beau's shoed hooves navigated the rocks and the concrete with expert precision as Codi led him on a loose hanging lead. That's when she saw it. The gorgeous, sparkling Lamborghini. Unconsciously her hand trailed along the hood - which was still warm from being recently driven. When she realized her mouth was hanging open, she snapped it shut. Beau reached over with a soft nose to sniff at a headlight and Codi instinctively tugged him back. "Buddy, I'm gonna have to sell a whole lot more than you if you mess this car up," The horse peered at her from beneath a set of stout brown eyelashes and Codi reached over to ruffle his mane. "Come on, let's get going before one of us gets in trouble." Or before she turned green and spontaneously combusted. As she led Beau across the entrance to the barn, she caught sight of the tiny blonde girl grooming a big expensive looking horse in the barn alley. The car had to belong to her. Codi would never be able to afford gas for a car like that, never mind the car itself.
The tiny nugget of jealousy the girl's car had planted in the pit of her stomach had grown into anger by the time she reached the gate to the arena. When they were inside the arena, Codi swung on top of Beau who sidestepped and through his head. "Sorry, boy. I know I'm not a happy camper right now." He snorted and threw his head again as she put him on the rail and began to trot him around, letting him break into a lope as soon as he felt Codi give him his head. The buckskin gelding was smoothly working around the arena by the time Reason and Trouble entered the arena.

just can't play nice Reason hadn’t seen the girl at all. More focused on herself and what she needed to get done more than anything. It was when she was collecting Trouble that she noticed her and the buckskin working in the arena. She gave a friendly nod and continued to work on Trouble. The buckskin was gorgeous but Reason was not one to ride western. Though she had never really seen it done before she truly had no interest in it, she focused on what she knew she was doing and what she wanted to do. Not what other people were doing. So back to focusing she went without a second thought or care.
As she let Trouble down to a walk she stepped him in as to not get in the other girls way. Trouble was a bit ancy with other horses so she continuously half-halted him whenever the buckskin passed. While her eyes scoped which way to go over the fences. Most of them were single rails or gates, easy enough. There was an oxer combination on the west side of the ring with about a stride in between the two fences. Without much hesitation she slid her heel back behind the girth and pressed her weight forward and applied pressure with her heel. The big black obliged and picked up his long flowing canter. She circled at the end than turned him in. She relaxed and found his rhythm, she pointed him towards a series of gates, nothing hard but they would open up to a turn at the far end. She would let him canter out than turn him, if he decided to buck she had no chances of being thrown into a fence. Trouble’s ears perked as they came closer to the fence, her was more than eager. He missed a stride and over powered the fence soaring higher than needed over it and hardly making it to the other side. He tossed his head and took a stride, than perfectly went over. This repeated for the two others.
Than she felt his quarters coil up, they were out of the fences now. Reason didn’t see the girl but as Trouble’s back feet went out she did, she was straight ahead. Before she had time to stop him his gait quickened. She pulled and yanked on his reins but there was no stopping him. About two strides from colliding with the girl he reared, and snorted at the buckskin gelding. Reason couldn’t help but shout “GET OUT OF MEINE WAY.” She knew all too well Trouble would come down and go off again. Only after that would he settle down. sorry its so short! ![](http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f88/13thCINDERELLA/whatsomonelikeyou.png) Codi focused on breathing and on singing soft songs while she worked Beau at a trot around the arena. That horse could read Codi like a book. She knew horses could be sensitive to people's emotions, but he just seemed like a special case to her. Riding him was rough when he knew she was upset, so she had to spend the first part of their workout tricking him into thinking that she was okay. And then, slowly, as he believed it, so would see. In no time she'd forget why she'd ever been angry at all and be pleasantly riding around the arena. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances would ensure that this ride was not one of those ones that ended with her feeling pleasant. But, for now, she could relax in her naivety.
She asked him to pick up a lope when she was confidant that he was settled in. It took him a few steps to give in, but he eventually broke into a short stride gait and picked up speed. Codi bumped him with her legs and gently drew in the reins to ask him to drop his head down. After a few more steps he complied and slowed his pace, reaching further out in front of him and gathering his end end. "Much better." Codi murmured to him, keeping her hands down along his neck to give him his head as he loped along.
The stout buckskin gelding saw the stallion before Codi did. He broke stride and tried to shuffle backwards, attempting to spin away from the wall and out of the way. He pressed Codi's outside knee into the outer wall of the arena, but the pain quickly subsided when he spun outwards to try to avoid the incoming offense. She turned her head just in time to see Trouble and Reason, moving with the force of a locomotive, come barreling towards them. Trouble was far taller than Beau and had the physical advantage of being a stallion. Not to mention that Beau was huge whimp when it came to anything except for doing the work he was trained to do. Ask him to run full out after a calf? Done. Ask him to bough up to a giant black stallion. No ma'am, let's go.
Beau tossed his head and pinned his ears back, jumping a bit with his front legs and shuffling his rear end backwards. Codi shot a glare at the blond girl. Her eyes narrowed as the girl screeched as her from atop the giant black stallion. "Get out of your way? I'm sorry. Control your horse," She tightened her grip on Beaus reins and whirled him away from the girl and the stallion. Nearly being collided with by a rouge horse wasn't so much the problem. Horses could be unpredictable. But when Beau's safety was compromised she refused to settle for anything less than apologies and full control. If she couldn't handle him she shouldn't be riding him in a public barn. Perhaps that was a little naive of Codi, but she was coming from a precarious position. Not only was her horses safety in question, but the girl seemed to be clearly placing blame on her for the whole incident.
