RykerIt's the world versus one _______We're not scared of you |
[/div]
Ryker sat in the little diner called Oasis. Ryker had been "hired" here to play for free to the customers. He sat on the little stage towards the back of the diner. It was quite cozy, and just right for him to play. There were not many people there which made his nerves relax some but it didn't keep his hands from shaking ever so slightly. He took a deep breath as he opened the latches to his guitar case, opening it and taking out his black acoustic guitar.
Ryker didn't have a southern accent like most of the people here, he was just a small town boy from Warren, Michigan. Ryker had moved here to get away from all the prejudice and all rude people back home. Ryker sat on the little stool that was given to him to sit on. He took a deep breath and began to sing
"If there is a way, Can't look back, We create in nothing, Integrality that's us, We won't fade, We need to start a movement"
His voice was soft and clear, and kind of on the higher side as he continued to sing. The song was one he had written himself about all the judgment he had witnessed in his life, towards him and others.
"We can make, we can break, But it's in our hands,Let's make a stand, join in hands, And make them see, We will stand, Hand in hand, And force the sky, To know that, We are here, And understand what we believe, And understand we need to, Believe that there is a way, We will unite in common sense, I won't give up on this dream I've built myself, This is the time to make amends, Yeah,It's time to make a change"
He stopped singing and looked down and the ground. His eyes almost filling with tears before he looked back up at everyone staring at him. His face grew serious as he spoke this time "We need you" He said before he stood up and put his guitar back in its case and began for the door. Hoping someone would stop him and talk to him, hoping someone would know what he was going through, what it was like to be gay, and be hated.

Maxxie
It was getting later in the day and Maxxie had just finished up working with his black quarter horse stud, Hemy, down at the stables. Now it was time for some food, perhaps even a drink, then time to head down the road to home. A smile softly spread across his pale lips as he wandered through the southern part of Addison. He passed many different restaurants, all with there own theatrics and lights that reflected off the empty pale grey sidewalk in colors of greens, purples, and blues. The silent breeze carried a few multicolored leaves past Maxxies legs, sending a slight chill up his spine has he rounded the corner of one of the shops.
When he glanced up, he could see a few people in a low lit dinner through a clean glass window. The title read Oasis in the front in green and red neon. Classic. Sighing quickly he hurried in the door, hearing the quiet ring of a little gold bell he looked back to close the door as to make sure it didn't make any more sounds. When he turned to see some empty tables he also saw a guy taking out a nice and shinny black acoustic guitar. Well this had been unexpected, live entertainment. Maxxie quickly found a seat at the bar and the bartender came over. He ordered a jack shot then turned to watch the performance.
The performer was pretty cute, he wasn't gonna lie. Brown hair and eyes. As he prepared to sing, Maxxie got serious and really quite. He didn't even realize that the shot he'd ordered had been delivered. When he began to sing, it struck a note, so to say, in his chest. The words were true and clear, it almost hurt to see someone singing them with such grace and beauty. Maxxie raise his hand to put it over his face in a moment of weakness. He tried to shake the feeling that made him listen to truth, but it was becoming harder the more he tried. As the song came to an end, he saw the singer look down. Even though he'd never seen him before or even knew his name he knew that there was something bothering him.
When the person tried exiting, something told Maxxie to go and talk to him to see if he was alright. He got off the chair and went to follow him just as he passed by, he did he even go about this? Sighing Maxxie reached out and stopped walking hoping that he would turn so he could ask him even if he was okay.

There were few times when Jasper Sterling’s nose wasn’t in a book. This was not one of those times. Not wanting to stay home, he’d chosen to wander off to the town’s diner – book in hand, of course. He’d simply ordered a coffee and a slice of pie, and quickly resumed reading. His fingers slid along the edges of the pages of Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy; a personal favorite of his.
Completely absorbed in his reading, he hadn’t taken notice of the performer setting up in back until he actually began playing. At first, Jas hardly even glanced up. That was, until, the song really did catch his ear. His eyes flickered up, and he placed his bookmark in the book, setting it down on the table and turning to see the source of the music, of the touching lyrics. If the song wasn’t enough, the artist was not at all hard on the eyes, either, and singing the song he looked so vulnerable in that incredible way.
As the song came to its close, Jasper clapped, and noticed the tears in the boy’s eyes. Drawing in his breath, Jas forced himself to grab his book, standing up and walking towards him as he packed away his guitar. As he always did, Jas hugged the thick book to his heart with one hand, the other swinging ever so slightly as he walked.
Jas managed to approach the front of the singer before he reached the door, smiling though glancing at the ground somewhat shyly. ”Hi, I’m Jas. That song was really…” He racked his brain for a word to describe it, and eventually came up short. He had a fantastic vocabulary from the amount he reads, though that seemed to be failing him now. ”I honestly don’t think great does it much justice. Empowering? Extraordinary? I don’t think I can think of an accurate description.” He said, dancing upon the line of his comfort zone, falling off the edge. Now his own eyes met the boy’s, and he held out the hand that was not occupied by his book to shake. ”Jasper. I think you can consider me a new fan of yours.” He said, face lighting up in a smile as he bit back the nerves that came with saying this.

RykerIt's the world versus one _______We're not scared of you |
[/div]
Ryker's arm barely missed the other boys hand that reached out to him, and unknowingly ignored the poor boy. But his movements were quickly stopped by another boy that cut him off. Boy was he glad someone finally decided to walk up and talk to him. It was his first time playing there but hey it was always good to hear critique. Sure Ryker was afraid of judgment about his sexual orientation, but not his music. Ry was VERY confident in his voice and music.
He smiled slightly as the boy couldn't find his words. Ry looked over the boy. Gosh he was attractive, and was that... IT WAS... it was Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Ryker had always wanted to read that book but never really had had the chance to. Maybe if him and this guy became close friends he would let him borrow it? Exactly close friends. There was no way in hell such an attractive guy could possibly be gay, and even if he was he wouldn't be interested in Ry, that was for sure.
Ryker blushed slightly and all for the sudden compliments to his song. "I ah, uhhh" Ryker looked down biting his lip slightly and running his hand through his hair shyly. "T-thank you" he said reaching out his hand to shake the other boys. "Ryker. Nice to meet you Jasper" he smiled his little crooked smile. He took a step back slightly and stumbled back nearly falling on the other boy. Way to go RY, making a fool of yourself already, especially in front of a fan, yet a lone a cute boy.

He didn't touch him, just barely missing. Feeling rather stupid when he realized that another boy had come up and started to talk to him. He kind of in a strange way looked like the singer, but maybe it was just his thoughts. The two men in front of him started talking to one another and at this point he was to close to ignore what they were saying. It's not like he wanted to be ease dropping, it just kind of happened. He could feel his face getting hot as some blood rushed to his fairly tan cheeks as he glanced down at the hard wood floor trying not to be weird, but his feet just wouldn't move away from the two. Why this? he asked himself, slightly getting flustered with himself and his very uncoordinated actions.
During there conversation Maxxie noticed, before looking away that is, that the guy who had come up to the singer had Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. He wasn't gonna lie, it was a good book, he'd read it once when he was with someone of importance who is no longer here. The next thing he caught was that the performers name was Ryker and the readers name was Jasper. He liked both the names and soon lost himself in something other than the boys, trying to make himself avoid the ease dropping.
He was almost getting ready to leave before in an instant, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something coming towards him. He turned on the heel of his foot to try and catch whatever was falling. Turned out the thing falling was a person, and that person was "Ryker", who didn't really fall apparently but stumbled; however, Maxxie still was ready to catch him, coming in to some contact with his back. For some reason he felt his cheeks get red again, and some guilt for being where he was struck his conscious. He couldn't really look the singer in the eye, as he couldn't bring himself too.
After he could manage some movement from his arms to push easily against his weight and help him up. After he thought that the person could stand, he tucked his hands quickly in his jean pockets not knowing what else to do with them. Facing the two he felt like he needed to apologize. "I-I'm umm sorry about that." His voice was shaky yet still clear with his British accent in the way. "I just wanted to say that your song was really nice and ask if you were okay." He smiled shyly and glanced up quickly then back down."Twice if your okay now I suppose." He stood there for a moment letting his slightly long blonde hair fall in front of his green eye slightly.
Again he glanced up but this time at the reader, Jasper. "That's a really good book. Douglas Adams is brilliant." Taking a deep breath and finally looking up permanently a bit more calm than before. He spoke one last time, voice still aqwardly shaky knowing that he looked like an idiot at the moment. "I'm Maxxie." Why was he so dumb sometimes?

Jas hadn’t intended to leave the boy tongue-tied. Often, he forgot that other people could get weird trying to have a conversation too, because normally he’s the one constantly tripping all over his own words, losing his thoughts. He shook Ryker’s hand, and then his free hand joined the other in hugging the thick book to his chest. Almost like it was protecting him, it was just something he did. ”Pleasure to meet you too, Ryker.” No, no, that sounded forced and formal. He often sounded formal with those he just met, but he was probably just giving the impression that he had no interest in the musician he currently faced. This, of course, was quite far from the truth. With his luck, the adorable boy was straight. Or perhaps he was taken. Jasper knew better than to think that such a man was single.
Oh, that crooked smile made Jas melt inside. He gripped the edge of his book. Ryker had such a childish aura, and it just stood out to Jas. It pulled him in enough to actually initiate a conversation of any sort, an amazing feat in itself. He quickly flitted his eyes away when he realized he’d stared a moment too long for it to be normal at Ryker’s little smile. Well, oops.
Only when Ryker stumbled backwards did Jas take notice of the blonde boy standing near them, and felt himself blush. Had he interrupted the boy? Were they friends? Panic ran through him and he felt quite useless as the other helped Ryker up, and he slowed his own breathing and tried to relax.
He tried to ask if Ryker was okay, but the other boy was speaking, and Jas contemplated leaving when this “Maxxie” addressed him. He glanced down at the book he encased in his arms. ”Isn’t he?” Book talk, now, was something Jas could do. His apartment was overrun with bookshelves all over the walls, and boxes of books upon the floors for where there was not enough room to fit the literature upon his walls. ”Hello, Maxxie.” He paused for a moment. Did Maxxie hear him introduce himself earlier? Should he repeat his name. ”I’m uh, I’m Jasper.” He said, chewing on the inside of his right cheek; nervous habit. He’d often completely chew out the inside of his cheeks. ”Jas works, though.” He added, and then looked back down at his book. ”So, so you read?” he stuttered slightly, regretting ever trying to talk to Ryker. It was just a reminder of why he kept to himself.

RykerIt's the world versus one _______We're not scared of you |
[/div]
Ryker felt a hand on his back helping him back up. His face flushed almost white before turning a deep red. He was so embarrassed! How on earth could he have tripped. God what was wrong with him. All these thing were running through his head as he felt so stupid and foolish. He turned around to see who had helped him, it being another boy, his hair was almost white but still blonde. he was pretty cute, but something about this Jasper guy really caught his attention.
He shyly fixed himself and looked at Maxxie. "I am so sorry, thank you so much though, I probably would have fallen and probably killed myself if you hadn't, you know, saved my life pretty much" he began his nervous child like rambling now. He always seemed to do so when he was embarrassed.
The other two boys began to converse, Ry just standing there somewhat awkwardly as he watched the two not wanting to interrupt. one because it was rude. Two because he knew nothing about the book for he still had not read it. He kicked his feet slightly. Should he leave or would that be rude too? But who would notice right? Its not like either of them would be interested in him anyways.

Ryker thanked him and Maxxie could tell that he was pretty embarrassed. How cute. Reasonable banishing such thoughts from his head he retracted his arms back to his sides and stuck his hand in his jean pockets again. "It's okay, really, who doesn't trip from time to time?" When Jasper spoke, he reintroduced himself, and said hi with all that introduction jazz. Maxxie went with it knowing fully that he'd heard his name once already... when he was accidentally ease dropping like a moron on their conversation. Maxxie just smiled trying to have some composure went they started talking about the book, which seemed to be acting like a shield at this point for Jasper.
So you read?
"Yeah, whenever I have time lately..." he did read, and actually really enjoyed the written word but it was something few people actually knew about him. Some of his favorite books he'd read while he was recovering after the "accidents" in the hospital. Thinking about the events even remotely, subconsciously made him wrap his arms in a crossed way across his chest. "I've been working with my horse for the upcoming rodeo." Hemy was his black quarter horse stud, who had a bit of a record... in the ring and making "fun" of people around the stable.
Glancing back to Ryker, he felt bad for not including him and just kinda taking over the conversation. You are being rude! He slightly moved closer to Ryker by like a step and asked both; "Do you guys ride?" As he asked, for some reason he felt as though it was a bad idea to ask, wasn't sure why though. He sighed to himself and tried to find something to go off of that he should stick around or stay... he just felt bad. Rather rude.

He listened to the blonde boy speak, and couldn’t help but smile warmly as Ryker rambled. Why was he so cute? Jas turned his book over in his grasp, simply to have something to do with his hands for a moment.
His attention was pulled back by Maxxie. Ah, so he was a rider as well. Western, from the sounds of it, but Jas didn’t mind. For the most part, he rode English, though sometimes he hooked either of his horses up to a cart – they both knew how. Not that he showed a lot, he wasn’t highly competitive, going to shows puts a lot of stress on, so he sticks to shows that someone he knows is going to who would help him chill out and stuff. Since the one girl he’d had to help him moved a few months ago, he’d been at a loss.
”Yes.” He said in a soft voice. ”I event, and my horses pull carts too.” He replied, not going in to detail. He could go on day and night about his horses, Septemberism and Little Lion Man: Bear and Lion for short – but he wasn’t a good judge about whether he was talking to long or not, so he had a habit of keeping things short. Anyways, he’d learned that the quicker he stopped talking, the sooner he could begin reading again.
He always had time to read, or at least made some. It wasn’t too difficult, he was currently the only chef at the town’s quite fancy restaurant: Providence, and since the restaurant was so nice as well as expensive, it was typically only open for dinner and on special days they had breakfast or lunch. He made a decent amount, and still had a lot of free time.

Ahhh finally something the boy could talk about! Horses. Ry loved his horses more than anything on this planet. Ginger and Ike were like his prized possessions. He wouldn't know what to do without them, and well singing of course. Ryker smiled softly.
"Yeah I have horses. Two actually, a friesian mare named Ginger Soliloquy or Ginger, and a warmblood stallion name Texas Eye Que or Ike. he blushed and chuckled slightly looking at his feet. Why did he have to be so damn shy? I um, I jump and do dressage he said shifting his wight slightly as he spoke. He really hated the way he always got so nervous when speaking to anyone.
He looked at the two boys before them, both super cute, but this Jasper kid, something about the way he looked at him and that smile, just made his heart melt. He smiled unknowingly as he looked at Jasper. He wasn't purposefully ignoring Maxxie, it was just, it was like he was in a trance when he looked at Jasper. He wasnt one to believe in love at first site, but Rykers heart felt like it was about to just leap out of his chest and flop on the floor, and he would just casually die a slow painful death, but hey! That would never happen! Ryker bit his lip trying to not laugh at his own thoughts.
