It started out however night went, she woke up with a scream and her heart racing and then she would lay there and stare at the ceiling until Hank her bulldog came in and curled up next to her and then she would just quite literally pass out from being so tired. She woke up a little after noon and rolled out of bed still sleepy but begin to wake up, she padded down the aisle and out into her open concept main area and let Hank out into the back yard before she once more disappeared into her room to shower and get ready for the day. She never undressed in front of the mirror and she never glanced in the mirror on her way to the shower. Why should she? She knew the mark was there she could feel it every day of her life, just like she would always remember that night, that horrid horrid night. She climbed into the shower, the water was nice and hot, how she liked showers now because no matter how long it had been she still didn’t feel like she was ever clean and to have had him come after her again right before she left causing her to miscarry made her feel as though she was a horrid mother because she didn’t protect the fetus better then she had. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, clearing everything to the best of her ability and trying to put a smile on her face, which wasn’t hard when she thought of her horses, they always knew how to cheer her up after one of her nightmares, so did Hank. She got out of the shower and got dressed in a pair of dark wash jeans and a mint colored top. She put her black boots on and did her hair and makeup and for once she found herself pretty. She told herself this new life was about moving on and trying to forgive guy kind for what they had made her feel and what she felt they had proven to her. She let Hank in and clipped his leash on him before grabbing an apple and heading out the door. She got Hank up into her new Ford f350 which her father had recently paid to have lifted and she herself climbed in and started it up and drove to the barn. Where she quickly hopped out and went to put Freak and Dancer out in the paddocks and give them each a treat before she hopped back in the truck and went to the park. Once more she helped Hank out and locked the truck behind her and started walking looking for a nice place to sit down and let Hank off the leash. Shortly thereafter she found a spot near the water and lots of space for Hank to run around and not depants anyone or so she hopped. She said a silent prayer as she sat down and then unclipped the tank from his leash and watched him shoot off.

Blake felt like taking a drive today and took out one of his favorites of the many he had. The red 1969 Ford Boss 429 pulled into the parking lot of the park and idled for a minute before Blake shut it off. He loved the sound of this car, but his favorite thing about it was it's power. He stepped out of the car and shut the door before walking to a nearby bench. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt and a pair of faded jeans along with some work boots that were pretty dirty. He put on some aviators as the sun nearly blinded him. For a day in the middle of winter, it was beautiful.
He sat down on the bench and looked around quietly, not noticing anyone here right away. He looked up at the almost clear sky and he smiled. He hadn't been able to enjoy a day like this in a while. Usually it was cold, windy, and just plain miserable. He glanced around quietly again, this time his eyes landing on a woman and her dog. He watched with curiosity as she let the dog, looked to be a bully, off the leash and he smiled as he took off exploring. He looked down to his pocket as his cell phone went off and he quickly pulled it out before looking at the text and smiling. He replied quickly before putting it back into his pocket, his eyes searching for the dog.
He leaned back on the bench slightly and he stretched out, his arms folded and eyes closed. He loved the feeling of the sun's warmth on his skin and he sighed, not being able to get enough of this beautiful day. He was sure it couldn't possibly get any better.

She closed her eyes and leaned back, tipping her face to the sun as they bounced off her white sunglasses. Every so often she would open her eyes and make sure Hank was still behaving, she really didn’t want to have to pull him off anyone today. She sighed contently not even realizing someone else had pulled into the parking lot or was getting out and sitting down until Hank started barking and she couldn’t get it together fast enough to lounge for the dog and stop him. Now most would assume he was an aggressive dog but that wasn’t the case he was just playful and happened to like biting the pant legs of strangers and trying to see if he could get them off. He mostly succeeded when it was a young guy with saggy pants, oh lord that was the worse and very awkward and embarrassing and she hated having to apologize to a guy because afterward she would breakdown and cry. She quickly got to her feet and went after the dog. Hank get back here! She called watching him going strong for the man and before she could get the next set of words out he was biting the man’s pant leg and tugging, Damn dog. She muttered under her breath as she jogged up and gripped his collar and pulling him back and clipping the leash on to his collar. She didn’t look at him at all, her eyes were melting holes into the grass if they really could, she gulped i-i-im sorry about him. She whispered quietly before turning away and starting to walk off again not wanting to breakdown in front of a complete stranger. When she was far enough away her body began to shake and a few tears came down her face and she reached up to wipe them away, sitting down in the grass again, she kept the dog on the leash and drew her legs up to her chest placing her head in-between them and taking deep breaths trying to calm herself down, Hank was nudging her and whining trying to get her away from the memories but he couldn’t, so he sat down and stared in the man’s direction trying to communicate silent messages to come and help.

Blake watched as the dog came running over and started pulling on his pant leg. He started laughing and actually playing with the dog a bit before he saw the girl come jogging over. She pulled the dog off and clipped his leash to his collar while apologizing. "It's ok, I love dogs. He's adorable anyways." He realized that he just sounded completely gay and he shook his head before catching a glimpse of the girl. She was beautiful, but he wasn't going to say anything now. He watched as she walked off quickly before sitting down and curling up. He took his sunglasses off before noticing that she looked to be crying and the dog was oddly staring at him. He shrugged before standing up.
He quietly walked over before sitting next to her. "Are you alright? I really was not bothered by the dog." His eyes looked over at her curiously. He had wondered why she hadn't made even the slightest eye contact with him, although he really couldn't blame her; he looked kind of rugged today since he really didn't bother shaving or doing anything to really make himself look presentable. He sat with his legs close to his chest, arms wrapped around then, and his chin sat on his knee as he looked at her. Watched her really. She seemed to really be in some kind of emotional stress and he really didn't know how to help, he didn't even know her name, or what happened, or if it was him. Oh jeeze, what a way to start the morning.

She could hear the grass under his feet and knew he was coming over, she didn’t expect him to sit down next to her but he did. She took another couple deep breaths and Hank nudged her again, getting her to at least left her head and stare off across the water, she shook her head who was she kidding she couldn’t tell him or could she? He was a complete stranger but there was just something about him that almost made her feel safer. She bit her lip and took a glance over at him, he was indeed very good looking but that didn’t matter now, she turned away quickly and bit down on her lip. Im Lana you didn’t do anything and no im not alright I have issues trusting guys I haven’t had the best of luck, but I cant tell a complete stranger why I am like I am so I leave it at that. She glanced at him again stretching her legs out and wiping the extra tears away, placing her sunglasses atop her head and looking at him once more, I didn’t really think Hank was a problem for you most see him as aggressive when he comes charging wanting to depants some poor innocent person. She scratched the top of his head fondly and unclipped the leash, watching him wander off, nose to the ground checking out every little thing he had five minutes ago. She took a deep breath and sighed, im sorry for crying in front of you it seems so stupid but if you really knew why it would make so much more sense why I cant bear to look at a guy or trust one for that matter. She fiddled with her hands and frowned for a moment, pondering if she should just go ahead and tell him or not, maybe he would be able to help her move on but then again maybe he would do the same thing that man had done before.

Blake watched her closely as she shifted her position as the dog nudged her. His curiosity and concern were both growing rather quickly as they sat here, her eyes on the water, his eyes on her. He was slightly surprised when she stated her name and then continued. Lana, that's a beautiful name. He focused once again on what she was saying he tried very hard to understand when she said that she was indeed, not alright. She said she had trouble trusting guys and hadn't had the best of luck; maybe she was abused? She proceeded to say that she couldn't tell a complete stranger so he figured he'd have to no longer be a stranger if this was to go any further. "Well it's nice to meet you, Lana. I'm Blake."
He watched as she moved again and wiped away some tears before speaking again. She spoke about the dog and he quietly looked at him as he took off sniffing once he was off the leash. That dog was not at all aggressive or ominous looking compared to some of the things that he's seen while on tour. The thought of the dog going around and showing full moons brought a smile to his face, that wasn't something you saw every day.
His eyes moved back to Lana as she apologized for crying and gave him a slight hint as to what was going on. His voice grew softer and more gentle as he spoke, "There is no need to apologize. Did someone here hurt you?" He continued to watch her, trying to pick up any clues that she could be unknowingly giving him but he really didn't want to push her. "f you need someone to talk to, I will listen. It's not a good idea to keep things to yourself. I have a lot of connections from my former job, so if I can help you in any way, I most certainly will." His softer side really started to come out as he was trying to figure out what was going on, but he knew some how she had been abused, and by the way she was acting, recently and brutally; he had to be very careful with how he went about this.

Lana bit down on her lip again, nodding as he introduced himself and listened as he went on. Maybe he was picking up on little hints dropped in her choice of words, when he said he would listen Lana froze for a moment, first time someone other than the lawyer or her parents had ever said they would listen to her story. She looked over to him before looking away again, it wasn’t here it was back home in Greece, she crossed her legs and picked some grass playing with it in between her fingers and absent mindly running it across her hand, I was a ballet dancer and I was asked to join a company directly from the manager of our company, I didn’t think he was bad or anything he came off quite normal but I guess I was wrong, it was the night after we preformed our first show and I was getting ready to head home and he came up and gripped my wrist, quite harshly and took me into the janitor closet and locked the door, no one was there no one could hear my screams as he raped me and then afterward stabbed me and broke my ribs so I would never forget. He got away with it for a while until he came after me again when I was two months pregnant the stress of him trying to hurt me caused me to miscarry, he was arrested and now is going to be executed. She stopped and dropped the piece of grass and looked over at him, the last part of that story just happened a few short weeks ago. She laid back into the grass and bit her lip again before pulling her shirt up and showing him the gash that was now scared, she was lucky he hadn’t punctured anything important that was located in and around her abdomen. She pulled her shirt down and sighed looking ever at him, you’re the first person besides the lawyer or my parents that has ever asked. Hank came over to check on her and when she was satisfied that she was not having another breakdown he went on his way again, So thank you for that, Lana actually smiled for the first time in a long time. She sat up again and undid her black heeled boots and then slipped her socks off before tossing them off to the side and laying back again, enjoying being barefoot on such a lovely day, she closed her eyes and tipped her face up to the sun again, finding herself relaxing the more and more he sat here, for now she was content to leave the fact that she had nightmares every night out of the picture.

Two weeks later ------------------------------------------------------------------- Blake Weston
It was about noon and it was another beautiful day. Blake found himself laying in the same spot where he had met his friend Lana just two weeks again. They had really seemed to hit it off and had become good friends over those two short weeks; better friends than most people he knew for a couple months. They had hung out quite a bit recently and had decided to meet back in the park since it was such a nice day. The temperature was quite high seeing that it was winter and he intended to take full advantage of that.
He pulled his sunglasses over his eyes before putting both hands behind his head, stretching his body out in the sun. He wore a white t-shirt with a white tank top underneath and a dark wash blue jean that was slightly ripped and the wash was starting to fade; he didn't care much to do anything special when he did laundry so all his jeans started to fade after a while. His work boots clunked together as he cleared some dirt off them by knocking then together. He closed his eyes and sighed, loving the sun's heat as it warmed up his body; he loved laying in the sun.
He figured Lana should be here anytime and so he opened his eyes at watched the cloud drift by. He literally had no cares today, after all he didn't have to work if he didn't want to thanks to the father he never met and that rather large fortune he had inherited. He glanced over to his car, the same car he had driven here two weeks ago and man oh man did it looks awesome today. He loved that car in red and he always had it clean and polished to show room quality. There was never a nicer car in his mind.

She sighed as she looked in the mirror and out the window, she was just curling the last strand of her hair, it had taken her a little longer then intended with a slight accident of Hank bumping her and causing the iron to bump her hand and burn it. She undid the iron form her hair and unplugged the curling iron and hairsprayed her hair and checked her makeup and then headed downstairs and grabbed her keys and headed out the door, locking it behind her. She decided to leave Hank home today it would make things a lot easier if she didn’t have to keep an eye on him. She shook her head and glanced down at the burn on her hand it didn’t look too bad but it was defiantly noticeable, her heels clicked as she walked to her new 2014 corvette and climbed in, tossing her clutch on the front seat alongside her phone and closing the door before putting her sunglasses on her face and starting the car and pulling out of her driveway. It didn’t take her long to get to the park and she parked her car next to his and got out, she spotted him in there spot they had meet two weeks ago and she smiled and walked across the grass, stopping when she gave him a little tap in the hip. Hey lazy. She grinned and sat down next to him before laying back in the grass with a soft laugh, so what have you been up too? She rolled over on her belly and rested her head in her hands, looking at him the smile never leaving her face as shifted again and rested her head against his chest finding it much more comfortable than any of her other previous positions. So guess what Hank burned me too, see. She held her hand out so he could see the burn and waited.

He looked over at the parking lot as her car pulled up and she got out. He smiled when she walked towards him and then bumped him in the hip. He smirked as she spoke and just shook his head, "Lazy?! Ma'am I am a former NS, and served for two tours. I do not think I qualify as 'lazy'." He teased and bumped her back, very gently. He turned his head so he could look at her when she sat down next to him before she laid back and laughed. "Oh 'ya know, misbehaving, nothing too unusual." His eyes watched her as she rolled over onto her stomach, head resting in her hands, watching him. He was really glad he had met her and he hoped that she had felt the same way. He really didn't know anybody here so having a friend was amazing, especially with a personality like hers. She was also drop-dead gorgeous so he couldn't complain. At all.
He noticed how much she was smiling today and was glad, when they first met she had been crying and he hadn't seen that in quite some time now. He hoped that her having a friend helped her out a bit too seeing that she really hadn't had the greatest past couple months. He watched as she moved again, this time she rested her head on his chest and he was slightly shocked. Wow, ok, still nothing to complain about even though his heart beat a little faster! He really hoped she couldn't hear that, after all, they were just friends.
He shook his head slightly as she told him that Hank had burned her. "Now how in the world did he do that?" He looked at her hand as she held it up. He found himself suddenly holding onto it as he flipped up his sunglasses so he could examine it further. As he was holding it he found the sudden urge to lace their fingers together, and without thinking about it, it was already done, softly of course to avoid the burn. "He got you pretty good there!" He said trying to get her attention off the fact that he had just done that. He wasn't sure how she'd react, but they were just friends... so it was just friendly, right?

Grinning she shook her head, well you are sure being lazy today. She smiled as he took her hand and even though he tried to play it off like he hadn’t he really had laced their fingers together and she really couldn’t help but feel something more than a friend but she wasn’t going to say anything… yet… maybe. Well he came running in the bathroom while I was curling my hair and he bumped me and the curling iron slipped from my hand and got me. She adjusted her hand in his but didn’t pull it free instead snuggled closer to him a placed her ear over his heart listening to it hammer in his chest, but once more didn’t say anything she made it seem as though he had gotten away with it all. She closed her eyes and sighed contently, I could fall asleep and I may just do such a thing. It really didn’t take her long to relax and feel drowsy and before she could even tell herself no she was out. Her sleep started off peaceful like always but it quickly turned dark as the memories rushed forth and she found herself screaming out loud and jerking awake, she yanked her hand away and sat up and moved away from him, her whole body shaking and not even realizing her reaction had caused more pain with the burn and the pus to start oozing from the few blisters, she shouldn’t have left Hank at home she needed him more than anything right now but then she remembered she had Blake and after a few quick and deep breaths, she moved closer to him and snuggled into him again. Im sorry, she whispered softly holding her hand out to look at the damage she had done, she frowned and took her shirt and dabbed at it, all the while staying close to Blake and not saying any more.

"I'm going to go ahead and pretend you did just say that..." He laughed before listening to how Hank had burnt her. Well, that seemed reasonable. He had no clue that you could burn yourself on a curling iron; it was just something he was extremely clueless about. He felt her adjust her hand and his and smiled, his heart still racing, and now she adjusted herself so her ear was against his chest. Crap, now she really could hear his heart and he was sure it would be hard to ignore.
He listened as she sighed and spoke before he smiled and decided her wouldn't let himself nap, no, he needed to keep guard; old habits die hard. He jerked slightly as she started screaming, startling him out of his skin, his heart nearly failing. That was almost scarier than gun fire in the middle of the night. He sat up as she jerked away and completely moved away, her hand ripping out of his, and her body shaking. "Hey, hey, hey. It's ok." He said softly as she moved in and snuggled up to him. She started to apologize and he shook his head. "There's no need to be sorry." He took his hand and gently put it under her chin, raising it ever so slightly. He looked directly into her eyes before he kissed her gently, and he pulled back slowly before speaking. "Nobody will ever, and I mean ever, hurt you while I'm here."

Notes: Decided to put a picture of her car now lol: CarHerheart was still hammering in chest as she mentally tried to calm herself down but it wasn’t working so well, that was until he spoke and she tuned everything else out besides him and his words. She listened and kept her eyes in the general direction of him that was until his hand was under her chin and gently pushing it up and then she was looking into his eyes and for the first time saw something other than friendship as he pressed his lips to hers and promised her no one would ever hurt her again. She began to wonder if that included horses because it was a given she would at least be bucked of Freak once or twice in a ride, damn horse and his wild childness. She rested her head on his shoulder and nuzzled it under his chin, sighing contently. Ok she spoke softly to his statement and then she relaxed a little more the hammering of her heart stopped and was now beating normally, she raised her head and looked at him once more, before kissing his cheek and then a soft kiss on his lips before pulling away and looking at him again. She hadn’t been some innocent girl before the incident actually the quite opposite, she had a few times under her. But that’s not what matter because the incident had taken other things away from her and she wasn’t ready to have sex again not for a long while and she didn’t feel as though Blake would push for that. She was still looking at him and sighed contently once more, so does this mean we are together? She asked softly, hopping that it did mean just that and she wasn’t dreaming this all had just happened. She wanted to be Blakes everything and souly is everything.

Blake Weston
The kiss had sparked something inside him, something that he truly had never felt before seeing that was always the go-to guy for... well, stress relief, and had never been in a solid relationship. He didn't know what he was feeling but he had butterflies in his stomach after their kiss. This big, fully grown man had butterflies and a rapidly beating heart, what a softy. He wrapped his arms around her as she rested her head on his shoulder, and then under his chin. He felt her head move right before he felt her lips on his cheek, he knew he should have shaved this morning! He looked down at her and caught her next kiss and he happily returned it before she pulled away from him. His eyes locked with hers for a couple seconds before she spoke, and he was completely unsure of how to answer.
He took a couple seconds while trying to put all the words together, his arms still wrapped around her even though she had moved back slightly. He looked to be a bit nervous and his eyes were really starting to show that. "I do believe so..." He paused for a moment before looking down at the grass, "I've never actually been in a relationship. When you grow up in a group home and stay there for eighteen years, people tend to view you as disposable so girls only came to me for one thing, so this is completely new to me. All I know is that I really, really like you and that I've never had this feeling with anyone else." Towards the end his eyes moved back to hers, before looking out across the park. He couldn't look at her due to pure embarrassment, and he was in a sense, disgusted with himself for his past.
He wondered what else he should tell her, because apparently the man was just throwing feelings out there, letting himself be read like an open book. He should probably mention that he's a little messed up from the two tours he was on and that he too had nightmares, and flashbacks that made him panic. If the sun got in his eyes and a car door shut, he'd panic as a flashback of an IED going off. A big thing she should probably know is to never shake him at night and to be very careful waking him up; it had become a natural reaction to defend himself and he surely didn't want to hurt her. There was so much to tell, but he had no idea when a good time to tell her would be, after all, this all was still very new and he had no idea when all this should happen. All he knew is that he would protect her without thinking about it if something was to ever happen.

She smiled and shook her head, turning his head to kiss him again. Its all good we can help each other and before the incident I was not some sweet innocent girl so there is no shame, I still like you for who you are now. She smiled and then thought for a moment if there was something she forgot to say or add, Oh I forgot to say im happy we are together now and thank you. She smiled and then once more something else hit her like a ten pound brick, how could she had forgotten. Oh shit I need to go to the barn today at some point I need to exercise my horses. She bit her lip she would probably lounge Dancer and let her stretch out her stiff leg seeing this seemed to be the worse time for the mare and before they went in the arena she would give her, her medicine and then that just left riding Freak, oh god she could already imagine the war she was going to have on her hands, just so you know I have a freak of a horse and he likes to spook at nothing so there may be… well ok there will always be days were I hit the dirt with that horse, my other horse is a little sweetie I cant find a thing wrong with her but shes souly a trail horse because of an old injury. She grinned and stretched her legs and upper body out. She wiggled free of his arms and pushed him hoping he would fall back, it was all in good humor and playfulness. She giggled and stood dusting her butt off and checking her white skinny jeans for grass stains not that she would mind, she had two pair incase. She started walking off turning to blow him a kiss over her shoulder and carefully slipped out of her boots and socks which she left by a tree. She turned to face him and stuck her tongue out at him, why don’t you come get me? or do tough boys like you not play silly little games. She grinned and kept walking humming softly to herself as she waited.
