Codi had never been to a party that required invitations. At least, no party for anyone who was over the age of ten and those invitations usually included confetti. This one hadn't resembled the multicolored concoctions she'd received in grade school at all. The fancy pattern and dark colors made the party seem lavish without a single mention of what they'd be doing. She knew from the moment she got the invite that she was out of her element. She was quite right.
Perhaps she should have delayed her arrival, but it was too late to change her mind now. She had already parked at his house and was staring from the expansive estate and back to her passenger seat - which had a cigarette burn in the fabric of the seat. She snatched her keys and stuffed them into her tiny clutch before exiting the car. Rolling her eyes at herself she pressed her knees together and slid both legs to the side of the bucket seat. So far so good. She planted her heels on the ground and slid from the truck's seat down onto the paved driveway. Perfect. The last thing she'd needed was to kick off the night by flashing everyone. That would make for a very classy introduction. Taking a deep breath in and straightening her dress, she lifted her chin and looked at the house before her. Gorgeous and expensive.
Breathe. You used to be good at this. Codi smiled. Indeed, before she'd left New York, she'd been very active on the social scene. Granted, those parties were much lower key and the typical invitation was a text message that included 'BYOB.' Never the less, there was a rush she got when she heard the music coming from the house, the promise of drinks and conversation just on the other side of the door.
What welcomed her as she came through the door did not disappoint. Music was coming from speakers she couldn't seem to find and the bar was lined with bottles of various liquors. This was certainly not foreign. The years she'd spent working the bar at various clubs was about to pay off. She took the bar like a chemist takes to a table. Her fingers worked over the tops of the bottles with knowing eyes. Vodka, vodka. Belvedere? Perfection. Ruuuum...got it. T-e-quila? Check. Blue Curacao.. She frowned and scanned the bar, back and forth again. Her eyes caught someone out of the corner of her eye and she jumped at the opportunity. Codi leaned her torso against the edge of the table and offered a smile.
"'Scuse me, sorry" She grinned wider as she used her hand to flag down the passing person. "Any chance you know if there's Blue Curacao anywhere around here?"

'CAUSE TODAY'
that was yesterday, yesterday is over, it's a different day - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - trying to draw attention, but she doesn't want people to become envious of her. But it is kind of hard not to be obnoxious in a $100,000 convertible. The top of the car was pure black, blending in with the body of the car. The roof of the car laid on the back trunk area. The wind blew in Lee's face, her hair blowing fiercely in the wind, until she slowed down of course. As she was driving with one hand on the wheel, she pulled into the driveway of the big expensive looking home. Lee's jaw dropped unexpectedly. She parked her car in the big driveway next to another car, figuring it was the owner's car, or another guest's car. She pressed her finger on the button to close the roof of her car. The roof slowly shifted onto the top of the car once again. She grabbed her purse and hopped out, shutting the door behind her. She stopped for a second, laying her hands on her hips, looking around. As she scanned the whole place, she looked at the girl who just arrived at the same time as she arrived. Pretty girl, but she didn't look like she knew where she was going. Lee started to walk towards the entrance of the home, the big doors wide opened, allowing all guests to walk freely into the home. What a nice appearance it has, inside and out. This is nothing compared to any home she has had in her entire life, hopefully the owner of this place appreciates this place, if he doesn't, he should get a real taste of life once in a while. Lee shifted her head left & right, looking around curiously, eyes wide opened. She moved her purse onto her right shoulder, she flipped her hair once and walked into the kitchen area. The snacks that were laying out on the wooden table looked tempting, but Lee is still on her daily diet. She ate quite a bit when she lived in Korea, that's why she has to thin out her thighs and move down a size. Lee didn't know where to set her purse, so she just continued to hold onto it. She looked at the brown haired girl that she saw outside. There are many people surrounding the home. Lee looked outside of the home and spotted a huge backyard. What else did this lovely la bode hold in it's presence? She walked towards the table of snacks. She wondered if anybody she knew would come to the party, so far nobody there she had met or anything. "I wonder if Shane Moore will be here? Or Genesis Manning?" she thought to herself, putting a questioned look on her face. She looked down towards her purse, she set it gently on the table temporarily. She looked through her purse, many items surrounded the purse. She grabbed her lip gloss and swept it across her lips, pouting them while holding her little mirror to make sure she put it on correctly. Lee tossed her lip gloss back into her purse, same with her mini mirror. She zipped it up and continued to give herself a tour of the home, hoping she doesn't get lost in the giant estate. As she was walking, she heard a feminine voice start to speak. She stopped and saw that it was the brunette girl speaking to her. "Blue Curacao? I'm so sorry, but I don't even know what that is." she told her, putting a sweet grin on her face. Word Count; No idea. For Codi, alcohol had been a way of life for a long time, but she wasn't shell-shocked when someone didn't know what she was looking for. This happened in the liquor store more frequently than you would think. It was, however, her purpose in life as former bar tender to expand the horizons of liquor drinkers everywhere. Codi raised her eyebrows and the corners of her lips lifted with interest. "Oh, well now I have to find it," Her lips curled up further and she dropped back behind the bar to dig through the cabinets, meanwhile, unconcerned by her lack of eye contact, she continued talking. "I'm Codi, by the way." Clang. Bump. Clang. The sound of glasses shuffling replaced the sound of her voice. Then a moment of silence. "I'm about to make something delicious. What was your name?" The girls face reemerged, a grin threatening to spill off the corners of her face as she eyed the girl and the electric blue bottle in her left hand.
She snatched a shot glass form the shelf and started measuring out the various alcohols that were splayed out before her. "I used to bar tend in New York, before I moved here. It's not a glamourous career path, buuut -" She cut herself off as she searched through the mixers for 7-Up and sweet and sour mix. Her finger whirled around as if it was attempting to detect the bottle on it's own. "I actually kinda enjoy it." Codi shrugged and snatched up the seven up and the sweet and sour, dashing them in and eyeballing the color of the drink with the care a toddler might take when doing a finger painting. Bar tending left a lot of room for flexibility, that was a part of the job that Codi adored.
Of course, in New York bar tending was a way to make a living, not an easy party activity. She'd not only made drinks, but also choreographed dances on bars, participated in ridiculous skits and let men touch her inappropriately all in the name of big tips. Though, if she didn't find work soon she'd find herself right back where she started - working the bar at another local dance club and spending all her nights up until all hours. Now that she was trying to really buckle down and be more serious about her riding, that was really a last resort. Beau was a good horse, and Codi wanted to do him justice by being the best possible rider that she could be. He'd been through so much with her already, she couldn't imagine letting him down just so she could make a few extra bucks tending bar until the wee hours of the morning. Codi stirred the mixture into two tall glasses. The drink was the most unnatural blue - a Caribbean shade of azure that nearly glowed when the light hit in the wrong way. With skilled, nimble fingers, Codi tossed in a slice of lemon and a cherry into each glass and then pushed one towards her new acquaintance.
"Do you want this one? It's called an Adios Motherfucker," Codi shrugged, a goofy grin hanging on her petite mouth. It pulled it's name from it's flavor: delicious. The beverage didn't taste a thing like alcohol but was jam packed with enough alcohol to having you feeling pretty good after just one. "Let me know what you think." Codi grinned and dropped the final touch - a straw - into both glasses before lifting hers up and drawing out a sip.

i can't dance, but i can dance on ya
------------------------------------------------------------- Driving along the dark road Crystal looked down the length of her car’s headlights. She had multiple cars, and a truck, but this one was her favourite. She had stuck to trying to keep it mostly factory, except for some modifications that she felt were necessary. A nice loud exhaust, stereo system that could leave your ears ringing, and a few slight adjustments to the engine. Besides that the triple black 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda was as close to factory as it could be numbers matching. She could hear the purr of the engine, feel the wind come up over the windshield and hit her face and loved it. With the roads so far being empty she shifted gears and went faster. She had no schedule in which she wanted to arrive to this party, but she felt like giving the car a good run since she hadn’t been in a race for awhile. Street racing was something she did just as well as riding. It was like second nature to be going ridiculous speeds in a metal machine. She was a speed demon in the car and a collection perfectionist when it came to dressage. Many people wouldn’t agree with her and Crystal really wouldn’t care. Opinions had long since been meaningless to her since the second time she was slammed against a wall. Seeing some read in the distance she let up on the gas pedal and shifted down until she was stopped behind the car in front of her at the red light.
Pulling into the driveway she saw the evergreens on either side of it. It was wide, could like easily fit four cars across. Seeing some other vehicles in the driveway she nodded slightly as she knew she wasn’t the first one there. That was one thing she wasn’t fond of, being the first to a party. Having a few bad memories of being first she always made sure that there was plenty of time between the start time and her time of arrival. As she came to a stop in a place where she hoped she would not get boxed in she checked the time on her radio. The differences in time this time was closer, but she had better hopes for people here in Addison than she did in Las Vegas. Looking in the rear-view mirror of the car she fixed her hair, and did a few touch ups to her make-up. When she thought of herself as presentable she took a glance around the property with her green eyes. The house was huge and had a fair amount of property to go with it. The property itself was immaculate and she couldn’t wait to see what the inside looked like as well. Closing her eyes for just a moment she remembered the real reason she was at this party: to get to know people. She hadn’t met too many people and decided this was a best of time as any. Getting out of the car she shut the door and locked it without bothering to put the top or windows up.
Walking up to the house she went in. As much as the outside was gorgeous, the inside was even more stunning. Even was shining clean and spotless, and as much as she had seen nice houses, this had to top the list. Looking around the place from where she stood she hoped the party would go as well as the house was gorgeous. Moving from her thoughts when she heard a couple voices she decided to head towards them. She saw two other girls and walked over to them. Having not heard the full words of whomever of spoke she decided to stand there with them until one of them spoke to her first.

'CAUSE TODAY'
that was yesterday, yesterday is over, it's a different day - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - she told Codi loudly, trying to allow her to hear her. Her voice doesn't usually carry that much, she basically has to yell just to speak with someone at a crowded place. The girl has a very smooth voice, which Lee has always liked about people. They would probably become excellent friends, if they tried of course. Lee is currently un employed, but she might apply for a bar tender. She would probably most likely enjoy it. Even though she is so busy with her horse, it would give her something to do at night, or even in the daytime. Usually in the daytime she gets very bored, since she takes care of her horse early in the morning, then she goes to get breakfast and then comes back home and watches TV or something that she would be entertained by. Lee listened to Codi closely, focusing on her eyes. Usually that is the correct area to look at when you are having a conversation with somebody, or even small talk with somebody. As Codi shoved the alcoholic beverage in front of her, she grabbed it, bowing only her, as a sign of respect. "Sure." She set it down in front of herself. What a lovely representation it is. She grabbed it and took a sip. "Mmmm" she hummed to herself, closing her eyes, savoring the flavor of the oddly named beverage. The taste was just right, it didn't taste like it had even a hint of alcohol in it, which is weird. "This is wonderful! What do you put in it? It doesn't even taste like an alcoholic drink" she told her, gesturing with her hands. Ever since she was a child, she has spoken with her hands. She got that from her mother, obviously, since everything she says is with her hands basically. Notes; Good muse for being up REALLY late. xP[/ul]

Pursing her lips, Codi felt that the dark berry shade of lip gloss she'd applied earlier that evening was wearing off a bit. While she would need to reapply, she was enjoying her drink and Lee's company, so she opted not to bother. Conversation was so much more important to her than the reapplication of her make up. Codi had perfected the technique of talking loudly - not yelling - but simply talking loudly. Her voice carried, which wasn't something that happened naturally for a lot of people, Lee included. But this didn't stop the girl across the bar from her from making the effort to be loud enough to hear. Codi liked that. She liked people who put in effort.
"Nice to meet you Lee! You lived in Addison long?" She raised her eyes, which had previously been studying the rim of her glass, to look at Lee as she spoke to her. Codi was infinitely jealous of people who could pull off bangs. Her hair was always cut into long layers to avoid short fringe from making her small heart-shaped face look too small for her body. Even the shortest layer of her hair, which fell past the tip of her chin, was kept swept to the sides of her face and was typically pinned to keep it from getting in the way. Lee, however, pulled of bangs easily. They were adorable on her. She wanted to mention it, but the words sounded creepy in her head and typically if it doesn't sound good in your head it really doesn't sound good out loud. Her lips wrapped around the straw in her glass and drew the sparkling liquid up into her mouth watching with curiosity as Lee sampled the beverage. She waited with anticipation on the girl's reaction the way a child waits impatiently for their friend to open the new Lego set they'd purchased for their birthday. A sort of D'ya d'ya like it!? excitement sparkled out of her eyes.
"Good? Fantastic, I'm glad you like it." Codi's train of thought was momentarily derailed as someone new came through the front door, but her attention remained on Lee. "Rum, vodka, gin, tequila and it's all just kinda mixed around sweet and sour and 7-Up. Blue Curacao too, but that's mostly for color I think - so I'm not sure exactly how it works," She took another sip. Yep, nothing. Just delicious. "But I'm not going to question it. Watch out though, that is both their greatest success and their greatest downfall," Codi grinned and winked briefly. "They'll knock you flat on your ass if you're not paying attention."
By this time the new girl in the room had made her way over to the bar, but Codi was already working on something else. Crown. Cranberry juice. The ingredients were in a metal shaker and topped with ice before the new girl was within ear shot. With careful, knowing hands, Codi popped a glass on top of the shaker and churned the ingredients together. Holding the shaker in one hand, Codi used her free hand to scoop up three shot glasses from the side of the bar and line them in front of her, using the strainer to sift the shaker across the three tiny glass mouths. She stood back and surveyed her work. Washington Apples - the strongest shot Codi knew how to make that still had some semblance of delicious fruit flavor.
Drinks were almost a shoe in for meeting new people at a party. Who doesn't like the guy standing at the keg or the girl mixing shots at the bar? Unless of course you didn't drink, and then that made for a moderately awkward situation, but judging by the fact that the only additional information on the invitations had been that alcohol would be provided, Codi could only assume that the people of Addison knew how to have a good time. She was excited to see what that entailed, and was thrilled that there was a party so soon after her arrival. It was damn near impossible to gain social footing by bumping into people at the grocery store and, while that sometimes works in movies, it usually just comes off as weird in real life. Parties, however, were a situation in which everyone was looking to make conversation with strangers. The perfect setting for new people.
Already smiling, Codi looked over the new brunette and smiled. "Hey," She lifted a shot glass and passed it over to Lee, then lifted one to the newest addition. "I'm Codi, this is Lee, and this," Her hand gestured briefly up and towards Crystal, "is for you." She smiled and scooped up the remaining drink for herself.
