Nervous did not even begin to explain how Jasmine currently felt about the night's events. She had been on a few dates here and there before, but this one somehow felt different. She knew that Casey had a bad reputation and if her parents knew she was with him they would probably have a heart attack and ban it from happening. She was both thankful and not thankful that Jeremy was gone. On one hand, he would probably do what he could to sabotage it, since she was fairly sure that Jeremy would not approve of Casey any more than her parents would. On the other hand, though, if things didn't turn out the way that she hoped they would, there would be no one at home to talk to besides Max since Lauren was gone at a show... and Max wasn't exactly the sort of person who one would want to talk to about their problems.
She had spent the whole day nervously changing outfits and going over impossible scenarios in her head. What would happen if Casey's bad reputation came through in their relationship and he really did turn out to be a bad guy? What if he decided he didn't like her? What if he was only interested in her for the physical relationship? There were so many possibilities, that she almost forgot to consider the good ones... like if he turned out to be amazing and perfect? What then? What if Casey was absolutely everything that she wanted to find in a man? She probably wouldn't even know what to do with herself if he turned out to be perfect. She really didn't know what it was about Casey that even drew her in in the first place, but he had, and she couldn't stop thinking about him. When he'd asked her if she wanted to go out with him, she'd been so surprised that she'd almost forgotten to say yes.
By the time she had finally settled on an outfit, the doorbell rang, nearly making her jump out of her skin. She knew that Max was home, and she really didn't want him to be the one to answer the door, since he would probably give her a hard time. So she slipped on a pair of flats and hastily scampered down stairs, stopping halfway at a mirror on the wall to check her hair one last time before continuing down to the door. She heaved it open, and as she expected, there he was. Now that he was actually here, she was even more nervous than she'd been all day. She was already thinking she should have gone with the black dress rather than the blue one and should have put more effort into her hair. "Hi... She managed to choke out followed by a meek smile. Jasmine couldn't explain the butterflies that she felt whenever he was around, but they were definitely there in full force now, and they could certainly not be tamed.

What was he even doing? Since when did Casey ever go on dates? Apparently he was the sort of person who did now anyway. He hadn’t even really taken Jo on any dates and he had married her. He had conveniently chosen not to tell Ash or Jason, or Anna for that matter… because he knew that they wouldn’t let him hear the end of it, and that was the last thing he wanted before he took Jasmine out, for them to put him in a bad mood because then he wouldn’t be much company and he didn’t want to end up doing something stupid to ruin it all.
He drove through Brentwood, looking out for her address… feeling a tad uncomfortable driving through all of these fancy houses… they probably could have afforded one growing up but they never had, his dad preferring to spend money on other things… but at least Jasmine wasn’t one of your typical rich girl types, as far as he could tell anyway, which made it easier. He had only barely just remembered to clean his car out when he had gotten in to leave to pick her up… hurriedly fixing it so it was decent, wondering when he had started to bother cleaning up after himself for a girl before.
Thankfully he found her house without too much trouble, parking outside and slowly walking up to the front door, fighting back the slight nervous feeling in the pit of his stomach. Ugh, why was he nervous? It was probably just because he was so worried that he was going to end up screwing this whole thing up. And probably partly because this whole thing was something completely new to him as well… he’d never actually truly wanted to be with someone before he had met her. He finally reached the door, pausing a moment before reaching out to ring the doorbell, letting his hand fall back awkwardly down to his side as he waited for someone to answer it.
Before long the door opened, revealing Jasmine standing on the other side of the door. “Hey,” he answered, returning her smile with a somewhat wider one of his own, feeling the slight nerves he had been experiencing earlier starting to fade now that she was standing in front of him… maybe part of him had been worried that she would change her mind about going out with him as well… but here she was, so he probably didn’t have anything to worry about there.
“Ready to go?” he asked, stepping back a little from the door so that she could walk out without running into him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #304064 solid 10px; width: 450px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]i've been waking all my life tagged Casey words517 musemoo notesHe makes her swoon creditstemplate by irish! Jasmine had found, in recent years, that her luck with boyfriends was rather slim. As a hopeless romantic, she fell for them easily, and was hurt even more easily. She wasn't hard to take advantage of, since she loved to believe in the good in everyone, and all too often she found herself on the losing side because of it. After a while she had started to wonder what she was doing wrong, when it really wasn't much of her fault. After her last relationship had ended she swore to herself that she wouldn't go out with anyone who so much as looked a tiny bit like they might be the sort of person to use a girl... but that obviously hadn't worked out for her too well. She didn't know what it was about Casey, but he just tantalized her, and whenever she was with him she felt like people really just misjudged him.
Of course, she was well aware that it was unlikely that every person in Addison had misjudged him, and that he probably had done something at some point to create the reputation that he had, but as far as she was concerned, things that happened in the past should stay there. That was why she'd said yes when he asked her out on a date. Sure, he was older than her and he had a bad reputation, but those butterflies that she felt whenever she saw him... those couldn't be denied, so why not give him a chance? People always changed, and she desperately wanted to believe that whoever Casey had been when he made everyone think so negatively of him was not the same person that he was when he'd asked her out.
She was always surprised at Casey's immense size. It wasn't like she was unaccustomed to tall people, considering she'd grown up with the towering Jeremy, but Jeremy was really nothing compared to Casey. Jer was tall enough, sure... but when she opened the door, Casey practically filled the entire thing. At first, when she'd met him, she'd been intimidated by his size... he could essentially crush her with his bare hands if he so chose... but now that she'd spent more time with him, she had come to appreciate it. No one would even consider bothering a girl who was accompanied by a man the size of Casey Sharpe. Jasmine's mind had mostly been changed on that matter when he'd kissed her out of nowhere then walked away without so much as an explanation. She'd been shocked at first, but then, a tiny little bit giddy. She'd wanted to ask for an explanation, but before she'd had the chance, he'd asked her to go out with him... and then it all made sense... although Casey hadn't struck her as the sort to be a mini golfer... or even a regular golfer for that matter.
"I hope you know that I have terrible aim," she said brightly, as she stepped out of the house and they walked down to his truck. "So if you're planning on us making it through the whole thing, we might be there for a few days." Anything that involved athletic type things could generally be ruled out as something that a Scott would be good at... with the exception of Max who was really just a freak of nature. Pretty well all of them were either smart, or musical, Max was the only athlete for probably five generations. Jasmine in particular was quite awful at things with angles and velocity and other such physics related sporting events, so she was really not kidding at all when she said it was going to take a while... maybe exaggerating a little, but not by much.

Yeah, I'm no angel, I'm just me [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 0b0b0b; width: 399px; padding: 5 5 5 5px; border-bottom: 12px solid #768fa5; border-top: 12px solid #768fa5;]But I will love you endlessly What was he even doing? He probably should have just gone with his first instinct of staying away from her. He was already enough like his father without dragging someone like his mother into the mix as well. But it was all he knew how to do, and he wasn’t even sure if he was capable of being a better person. He hadn’t even been able to stay away from her when he told himself that he was going to. He hadn’t meant to kiss her that day, hence why he had left straight after it happened, hoping that it would just get it out of his system and he would be fine after it. But that obviously hadn’t worked, it had been all he had been able to think about since and now he was here, taking her on a date. Maybe it was because she had tried to help him anyway, even though at the time he wouldn’t have blamed her if she had just left him there after his run in with Danny, and she hadn’t seemed to categorise him as bad news like almost everyone else he had met had. She really should have, and he probably really should have stayed away.
He kind of forgot how tiny she really was until she was standing near him… then again, most females were tiny compared to him, he had married Jo, after all, and she had been tiny as well, but the way they both carried themselves differed a lot, which was probably why it made him so aware of it. He had already picked up that she was quiet, and shy, not what he normally went for but something had changed for him this time around. Maybe that was what he needed, someone different around him, but he still wasn’t holding out too much hope that he would be better this time around. He’d try but… he still wasn’t sure he could do it.
He stepped aside as she came out, turning to walk down to his truck beside her, looking down as she spoke. “To be honest I’m not even sure I’m going to be decent at it myself, so. If worse comes to worse we can always give up if it doesn’t look like we’ll finish by the end of the night,” he answered, grinning a little at her as he spoke. To be honest, mini golf wasn’t really his thing either but it had been one of the only things he could think of to do with her on this thing. He wasn’t very good at sitting at restaurants for an entire meal, especially nice ones, the movies didn’t seem exactly first date worthy, especially since it was a drive in and he wasn’t even sure if there was anything playing that both of them would want to sit through, guessing that their taste in movies was probably very different to each other’s, then again he didn’t really sit around watching many movies to begin with anyway. So when he had looked at all of the places that they could go, it seemed like the best option… at least until they were more settled with each other and knew a little more about each other… if this whole thing didn’t end terribly, and she wanted to see him again after it.
When they reached his truck, he went around to the passenger’s side door, opening it for her, before going around to his own door and getting into the driver’s seat. “Just let me know how I’m doing, okay? I’m not exactly used to going on dates so you might have to give me a few pointers.” jess | 617 | outfit | whee |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #304064 solid 10px; width: 450px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]i've been waking all my life tagged Casey words517 musemoo notesHe makes her swoon creditstemplate by irish! Jasmine had to smile when Casey said that he wasn't so sure that he was going to be any good at mini golf. To be completely, the thought of giant Casey on a mini golf course was rather amusing. He was just so... manly, he didn't seem like someone who you would typically see on a miniature golf course. Granted, she had never gone mini-golfing, so she was sure that she wasn't exactly an expert on the sort of people who would be there. For all she knew, mini golf could be all the rage for motorcycle gangs. She doubted it would be that extreme but then again, Casey could very easily be in a motorcycle gang if he felt like it, so it was entirely possible that there would be people like that there.
Jasmine had really never thought that someone like Casey could not have gone on many dates. He was quite a bit older than her and he seemed to know his way around a woman, so she had really just assumed that he was a "dating professional." She'd never really considered that a man could very easily know his way around a woman without ever having gone on a single date. She liked to think that everyone who spent the night with someone else did so because they loved each other. She knew it wasn't true, but that was just what she liked to think so that she could have the most positive view of people as she possibly could. Maybe she was living an "ignorance is bliss" sort of life, but she would rather give people a chance to prove themselves to her rather than taking the words of other people. She didn't want her life to be influenced by the bias of other people.
"You're doing just fine," She said, smiling up at him as he got into the vehicle, "But I'm hardly an expert on dating." Being that she was only just nearing 19, and about as shy as they came, her boyfriend experience was rather sparse. Partly because Jeremy, in all of his crazy hilarity, had a knack for somehow intimidating any potential boyfriends. This was the first time that Jasmine had been apart from Jeremy, and it was kind of nice to not have him prying into what she was doing and who that boy was all the time, even though she did miss him now that he was gone. "And for the record," she added as they pulled out, "I wouldn't really mind spending the whole night there with you." She really hoped that wouldn't sound to eager, but she felt like she should probably tell him that. She really liked him, and she had a feeling that, based on that kiss which he'd never explained, he felt the same way. That was her hope, anyway.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 101010; border: #262626 solid 10px; width: 515px; padding: 5 5 5 5px;]“Well, if I haven’t screwed up so far, I guess I’m going alright then,” he answered, chuckling slightly. Well, it was true really, he hadn’t turned up to pick her up late, he had managed to make himself look presentable and he hadn’t said anything inappropriate or that made him sound like a dickhead just yet, so that really was going well for him, considering most of those things tended to be his daily life whenever he had to interact with people. And to be fair, the first time he had met Jasmine it hadn’t gone so well, and it had only been progressively getting easier to do the more he talked to her, so he was surprised he really hadn’t screwed up that badly yet.
He almost wanted to tell her that she really shouldn’t want to spend the whole night with him, that she probably shouldn’t have even agreed to go out with him in the first place. But he had always been selfish, and this didn’t seem like it was going to be any exception to that rule, he should have really been pushing her away and making sure she didn’t get any closer to him so that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her, like a normal person in his situation would, but instead he was just going ahead and pulling her closer to him. “I wouldn’t mind it either,” was what he said instead, giving her a small, quick smile before starting the car and pulling out of her driveway.
It didn’t take overly long to drive to the mini golf course, surprised really that he even managed to find it, it wasn’t exactly like he had been there before but he’d done his best to memorise where it was, luckily he wasn’t terrible with directions as it was so that probably worked in his favour. Finding a free spot in the car park, he shut off the engine, getting out and walking around to the passenger’s side door again to open it for her. “Time to go see how terrible we both are at this then, I guess.” - - - - - - - - - - the ink may stain my skin and my jeans may all be ripped, i'm not perfect, but i swear i'm perfect for you, and there's no guarantee, that this will be easy, it's not a miracle ya need, believe me, yeah, i'm no angel, i'm just me, but i will love you endlessly, wings aren't what you need, you need me |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #304064 solid 10px; width: 450px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]i've been waking all my life tagged Casey words517 musemoo notesHe makes her swoon creditstemplate by irish! Jasmine was quite grateful that the drive to the mini golf course was not very long. She couldn't really think of anything to talk about and it seemed he had the same dilemma so it was quite a relief that the trip was not long. Jasmine had never been a big talker and she wasn't one to start conversations usually, but with Casey, she felt like she was obligated to say something. The trouble was finding the subject. Small talk seemed inappropriate for a first date but she didn't know what else to say really, so they really didn't say much on the drive over.
"At least you're pretty much guaranteed to be better than I am." She said with a smile as she stepped out of the truck after he opened her door. "But that probably won't be much of a consolation." It wasn't hard to be better than Jasmine was at sport type things, even something like mini golf. She was definitely more cut out for doing non-active things. She wasn't exactly the most coordinated person i the entire world to begin with, and she was a bit accident prone on top of it all, so she was definitely not likely to be going to the professional mini golf league any time soon. Though much to her relief, there didn't appear to be any biker gangs at the mini golf course so at least she had that going for her, right?
As they walked through the parking lot towards the entrance, she was desperately trying to convince herself to do one bold thing and instigate hand holding. It might not have seemed like a very bold thing to your average person, but to Jasmine it might as well have been a leap off of a cliff. There was absolutely nothing bold about her, so something as simple as holding her boyfriend's hand and being the one to start it… that was a huge step for her. They were halfway to the entrance when she finally convinced herself to just do it and reached over and slid her much smaller hand into his. If Casey so desired, crushing her hand with his would have been like breaking a toothpick… so she was certainly glad that he seemed to like her well enough to not have that desire. "You never did explain that kiss." She said after a moment, not entirely sure how she expected him to respond. She knew he liked her, that much was true, but she'd never had someone just kiss her out of the blue before even asking her out on a date with him… but then again, she'd never really liked someone as much as she liked Casey either.

You didn’t have to hit a tiny ball with a stick and get it in a hole in the ground in football, so there was a lot more precision and good aim required, and about the only thing he had going for him in that department was the arm strength, but even that could probably work against him in mini golf.
As they walked towards the entrance of the mini golf place, he was a little surprised when he felt a much smaller hand slide into his… glancing over at Jasmine as she did so, before letting his fingers curl carefully through hers in return. Well, he hadn’t really had much experience at hand holding either – Jo wasn’t exactly the hand holding type to begin with and neither was he, and even though they had been married their relationship had never exactly been the typical romance-y kind. He wasn’t sure how he felt about it exactly just yet, but he guessed with the fact he hadn’t just pulled his hand away straight away, it wasn’t too bad.
When she asked about the kiss he had to think for a moment. Well, he knew why he had kissed her, but he had never exactly thought that he would end up actually dating her, he’d thought that he would kiss her and get whatever this was out of his system and that would be the end of it, but obviously it wasn’t. “Well… I did it because I like you, a lot… but I probably could have gone about it a bit better,” he answered, it was really the best answer he could come up with, he’d never been good with words in the first place – that was more Ash’s department than his – and it was the truth really. yeah, i'm no angel, i'm just me, but i will love you endlessly, wings aren't what you need, you need me, there's a house on the hill with a view of the town and i know how you adore it, so i'll work everyday through the sun, and the rain, until i can afford it, yeah, your friends may think i'm crazy because they can only see i'm not perfect |
