Jax is, for the most part, a very likeable sort of person. He's outgoing and is willing to talk to anybody out of the blue. In general, he makes it hard for people to dislike him in the sense that people will put up with his flaws because he is funny and easy going. However, while he often has many acquaintances, there are few that he trusts enough to view them as proper friends. In his opinion, you don't have to party with friends for it to be fun, just people that you know.
His main faults come from being too proud and stubborn. If there's something that he hates, it's having to apologise or admit that he's wrong. Typically, even if he's in an argument about something where he knows he's wrong, he won't just back off. He doesn't exactly take advice from anyone and prefers to make his own mistakes. Jax doesn't appreciate meddlers and would actually like it if he were the only person on the planet...with the exception of Raquel, perhaps.
He's fairly easy going, and is hardly ever serious about anything. That reflects on his relationships - he has commitment issues of the highest level, and has a deep-running fear of the thought of love and settling down with one person. Most people never see the 'real' Jax in that they all know him as laid back and perhaps a bit of a womaniser, but he sees life as a joke and will forever be a bachelor. What they don't know is that he won't ever love a girl the way he did Raquel, and that the second he starts to take life seriously, all his mistakes hit him upside the face.
Jax can act a bit arrogant sometimes, although that's not how he means it. Tact is just not his thing. He holds his ego close to his heart, and anything that makes him look the least bit ridiculous does not sit well with him. He has a bit of a temper when he gets going, but usually he can keep it under control.

Jax is typically Spanish looking; dark hair and dark skin. He is about 6"1', with strong features. He is built pretty solidly, and must weigh at least 80kgs. Although he has naturally olive coloured skin, he is darker than most people with hispanic descent from working in the sun for hours at a time. He has green eyes which set him apart from the rest of his family. They are a dark green, although they get lighter when he's amused or in a good mood. He is fairly muscular, from spending the past five or so years mucking out stables and training horses. He has fairly fine, high cheekbones that stand out and draw attention to his face. Usually his hair is styled so that it looks as though it hasn't been styled...despite the fact that if Jax loves something about his appearance, it's his hair.

Jax was born to a struggling aristocratic family; his father had gambled away their entire savings, and only his mother's side of the family was keeping them afloat. Not long after his sister Santana turned five, his parents divorced. His mother could no longer deal with her husband's drinking and unpredictable flashes of temper, and so she took Jax and Santana and left. They ended up in Seville after several years of almost constant travelling, trying to stay under the radar. After all, his mother wasn't sure what would become of her children if they ended up in custody of their father. Although only ten at the time, the divorce and its aftermath had a big effect on both siblings.
Jax grew up stronger for it, but no longer trusts anyone outside of his family. He is protective over his sister, but understands that if she is willing to open herself up to emotion, it's her choice. He, however, is now very unwilling to expose himself to emotion. At school, he began getting into fights and acting out. He stayed that way all through high school. Once he had graduated, him and his mother both decided that it would be a good idea for him to start somewhere fresh, and so he moved to Addison to attend university there.
Horses had always been a big part of his life, due to the fact that his grandparents had made their millions breeding top-class horses at a stud farm they had started, Reverie Farms. After his parents split, he took to spending every summer on the stud, riding and training the horses to be sold. His mother, while having grown up on the farm, had long since lost interest in horses and was a successful lawyer. Not long after he started studying to be a vet in Addison, his grandfather died, leaving the estate in a mess. His mother wanted to sell it, but instead Jax moved back over there to sort things out, at least until he could find a way to run the business from America.
In the time he had been at Addison, him and Raquel Chevalier had become a couple; however after what had happened with his parents, Jax had always hated saying goodbye. Instead, thinking it would be easier on both of them, he left without a word and returned to Spain. After realising what a mess his grandfather had left, he officially transferred to a university in Salamanca, where the farm was situated, and finished his degree there.
Now having trained somebody to manage the farm for him, and enabling him to run it in a more hands-off manner, Jax is back in Addison - a great deal more refined and successful than he was the first time. He is back because he only ever really found peace here, of all the places he has lived. And partly because a small part of him is hoping that Raquel is still here, although the rest of him wishes she isn't.

He can either be very sweet, sweet enough that you could put small children on him and let him wander around and he wouldn't hurt a fly, or he can be completely neurotic. He was one of the most promising stallions for the Reverie stud, but he is slightly too unpredictable to warrant breeding from without the guarantee of competent riders buying the foals.
