personality » Brooke has a strange personality. To people she doesn't know or like, she's a spiky, overconfident rich kid that just knows she's pretty. She's bitchy and sarcastic, and won't hesitate to rip you to pieces publicly. To them, her reputation is all that matters - Brooke, the leader of the pretty, rich kids and resident heart breaker.
But if she chooses to let you through that protective shell, even just a little, the story changes completely. Bright and with a wicked sense of humour that most people don't get, she endears most people to her without even trying. Even around those closest to her, she's still wary and embarrassed of showing emotion, although her temper flares high if she's pushed enough. If she cares for you, she's fiercely loyal and if allowed, would fight all of her precious inner circles' battles for them. And if she loves you, you'll always hold a part of her.
WE'LL TAKE CONTROL OF THE WORLD,
appearance » Brooke is just dark in general. Dark brown eyes, black hair, dark olive skin. She weighs in at about 70kgs, and definitely no more. She relatively tall - 5ft 9 inches, with a fairly light build. She's thin and wiry, but don't let that fool you. What isn't bone and skin, is pure muscle. She's much stronger and faster than she looks, with excellent reflexes from nine years of abuse. She is never without her sunglasses - when she's not wearing them, she has the strange habit of holding her hair back with them. Her hair is naturally wavy, and generally dries perfectly by itself. It sits at just below shoulder length, although it has been layered to the point of no two strands of hair being the same length. Brooke is naturally very pretty, all dark eyes and high cheekbones, although occasionally she looks a little startled.
family » Father: Damien Alvaro*
Mother: Genevieve Cueta
Sister: Sarita Alvarez
Brother: Morgan Alvaro
Half-sister: Alexis Alvarez
*Traditionally in Spain, the female's surname, when ending like 'Alvaro' will change to 'Alvarez' or 'Alvara'
others of importance » Tyler Murray....well. She never has quite figured out what went down with them. After getting royally plastered and ending up in his bed, there always has been something strange between them. But that was four years ago. All feelings and affections for him have died. Obviously. If the Ice Queen ever melted. Which she didn't.
LIKE IT'S ALL WE HAVE TO HOLD ON TO,
medical history » with the exception of a few major bones such as her back and skull, Brooke has broken almost every bone in her body at least three times over. Or rather, they got broken for her. But that's another matter entirely.
Due to the regular shattering and fracturing of her wrists, she now has relatively bad arthritis in both of them. Some freezing days they seize up almost entirely, making it difficult for her to write or pick things up. Her rib cage on both sides is also extremely weak, from the trauma they have sustained over the years. Whereas most people's ribs might bruise or crack in certain situations, several of her ribs will break or shatter in multiple places. Her back is also quite literally covered in scars.

life history » Well...this will be fairly long. Brooke was born into the world of Spanish aristocracy; one of the seven richest, most powerful families in the country. And incidentally, the richest and most powerful of the seven. Everybody knew them, everybody wanted to be them. And most of all, they wanted to be Brooke. She was her parents' pride and joy for the first few years of her life, even after her brother Morgan and sister Sarita were born. The three children were indulged - they never wanted for anything money could buy. And when she was seven, Brooke decided she wanted a pony. Her parents went out and bought her the prettiest, most expensive pony they could find, built state-of-the-art equestrian facilities and even flew in a trainer from Germany for their little girl.
At first, it played out like many stories of a rich child and a pony do. But slowly, under the watchful eye of the trainer, the little girl began to understand and control the high-spirited pony. In the years that followed, an inseparable bond grew between the two. However, four years later and Damien began to realise that his daughter, the first child and therefore meant to inherit his legacy, was more interested in horses than business. And so began Brooke's fall from grace.
Damien sold Flight from underneath her feet that same month, and from then on the relationship between father and daughter disintegrated. Two years later, when Brooke was thirteen, her family imploded. Her father had been having an affair with a 'snowflake'...a white woman that was not native to the country. It was many years ago, when Brooke was only two and Morgan only a few months old. His infidelity led to the existence of Alexis Alvarez. Now eleven and orphaned after her mother's death, Lex had nowhere else to go but to the father she'd never met. Her appearance ripped the Alvaro family into pieces. Lex and Sarita stayed with their father. Morgan and Brooke chose their mother. But Genevieve, driven to despair over her ex-husband's cheating and now having to face the scorn of the rest of the aristocrats, turned to alcohol. The thirteen year old Brooke was now the only thing keeping her family even remotely stable. She started off working weekends, at a stable yard, as a groom. Then she began working nights as a runner in a restaurant. Though below the legal age, neither employer could doubt her skill with horses or with a tray. As her family's bills started rising, Brooke spent less and less time at school, often missing whole weeks at a time. Her extended family on her mother's side helped out when they could, but Brooke's stubborn Alvaro pride refused to let her take charity from others. And then, just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, everything plummeted another 100 feet.
On her fourteenth birthday, her brother's abuse began. It started small - a slap here, a shove there. But as Morgan grew older, he soon realised just how much stronger he was than his sister. By fifteen, she was taking regular beatings. They became a part of her daily routine. Her mother was always too drunk or hungover to even notice. Outwardly at sixteen, Brooke was the epitome of popularity. She was the princess of Madrid, despite her parents' divorce. But she was known for being an ice queen. And as far as she was concerned, nobody was ever going to break through that wall of ice. Nobody would see just how broken she was. When her mother went into rehab that year, Brooke was forced to stay with her father. She went out with her friends, had a little too much to drink and ended up in the newspaper the next day. When she got home, she realised that there would be hell to pay. A beating more vicious than any she'd ever experienced before was delivered by her brother, while her father watched. And when she came around after being knocked out, she wasn't allowed anywhere near a hospital. She couldn't get back to her mother's house fast enough. But Morgan's beatings delivered more and more pain every time. More broken bones, more torture. When she was just seventeen, Brooke tried to commit suicide. She slit one wrist, but didn't expect the pain and started screaming. Her mother, for once sober, found her before she cut the other one too.
And then, at eighteen, she left for Redwood, Virginia. She hoped to start over, and that she did. There she met Tyler...somebody she didn't have to pretend in front of. Somebody who seemed to care. And for once, he was somebody who wasn't interested in her money. So yes, he got under her skin. She gave him a horse, helped him to train it. And then...and then they went out drinking together, and woke up next to each other in the morning. Their friendship ground to a halt. And then Damien found out about what they'd done. He flew Brooke back to Spain, and three months of pain worse than hell ensued. Then she was back at Redwood, covered in scars both physically and emotionally. She moved into an apartment, only to find Tyler living next door. Nothing much happened, and then she moved back to Spain. She has been there for the past four years, choosing Morgan's pain over Tyler's rejection. And now once again, she's striking out on her own. Forgetting that she ever loved Tyler. It didn't matter now.
