broken arrow. Just A Simple Melody.Truck. Trailer. Dust kicked up from the driveway as Lilliana pulled in with a trailer hooked to her truck. In the small gray trailer, two gorgeous horses were tied up and ready to be out. The Arabian threw her head up, pulling at her lead as if trying to escape. Lilly parked the truck as close as she could to the barn without blocking anyone else. She climbed out of the truck and opened up the trailer doors, to reveal the bay Thoroughbred in his glory. She smiled at the gelding and stepped into the trailer after she secured the door. Broken Arrow was the name for the gelding. Her boy she had raised from birth and trained to be the perfect western horse for her. Sure, they weren't at the top of the pack, but she was making her way up. Hopefully the move to Texas would help her out in making a name for herself and the horse. Maybe she shouldn't have gelded him, because then she could have bred him with a champion mare, but she didn't want to deal with a stallion at the time. Arrow whinnied at the girl, and she began to untie his lead so she could lead him down the trailer. He was such a well-mannered horse. He'd follow Lilly around like a puppy if she would give him the chance. She walked him around to the side of the trailer and tied him up. "Good boy, Arrow," the girl coos to the Thoroughbred as she ties him up outside the trailer. She pats his neck lovingly, and walks around him to head back to the trailer. A gorgeous black Arabian mare is still tied up inside. "Your turn, Melody," the blonde encourages to the horse. Lilly unravels the mare's lead and leads the horse down the trailer and heads to the barn. Arrow could be left by the trailer, unlike Melody, who would spook at a squirrel if she saw one. Melody is a great jumper, listens to everything an advanced rider could signal her, but she likes to spook. It could be a rock, or even just something out of the ordinary. The mare loves to prance, and she likes to act as if she owns the place. She has quite the personality, that's for sure. Lilliana took the mare in when the mare turned two, and she's been working with her since. It's been three years, and she's turned into an amazing horse, if you know how to handle her. The blonde leads the mare into an empty stall that she reserved in advance. The stall read Just a Simple Melody on a bronze plate. Melody's show name. Lilly unlatches the lead and checks to make sure the mare has water in her stall. Melody whinnies to the girl, and Lilly smiles at the horse. The mare begins to pace the stall and checks out the new place. All of the unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells begin to waft through the air. Melody rears up slightly, but quickly calms down after a couple minutes. She sticks her head over the stall door and Lilly strokes her nose and heads back to retrieve Arrow.[/ul]

& DON'T YOU WORRY YOUR PRETTY LITTLE MIND PEOPLE THROW ROCKS AND THINGS THAT SHINE ( but they can't take what's ours ) Abby fiddled with the lock on her locker. It finally sprung open, revealing a small cupboard filled with leather and saddle pads. With time on her hands, Abby had decided to do some early spring cleaning. She stood back for a moment and gazed over the mess. Saddle pads would all need a wash for starters and of course all the leather could do with a very good clean. She grabbed out all her bridles and reins as well as her stirrup leathers and sat down on the ground with her back against the wall. She crossed her legs and laid them out over her knees.
Once the were clean she hung them on the hook on the door. She pulled everything out at this point and placed them carefully on the floor. Her locker was completely empty, aside from the dust of course. She swept it out and ran a damp towel over the three posts sticking out from the back wall. She placed all her saddle pads on one and then two of her saddles on each of each of the others. She then sorted through her various trays of products. Shampoos, leather soap, first aid kit, hoof oil and such. Eventually she had a small pile of empty bottles which she bagged and placed in a nearby bin.
After cleaning her saddles and sorting through the last of her stuff, Abby finally decided she was done. She had all of her saddle pads in her arms and started towards her car. In the parking lot there was a large trailer and a new face. She deposited the dusty pads into the boot of her Swift and decided to go say hi. She wiped her hands on the back of her Jodhpurs and walked back into the barn. With a friendly smiled plastered across her face she opened her mouth to speak."Hey!"

broken arrow. Just A Simple Melody.Truck. Trailer. The Thoroughbred gelding whinnied as he saw Lilly approaching. The blonde smiled at him, and stroked his nose before untying his lead again. She couldn't wait to ride him. He was quick and energetic, always trying to please his rider. She couldn't have asked for a better horse with him. Lilly had raised Arrow from birth, and taught him the ways of his riding. He'd follow her around like a puppy dog if she allowed him too. The lead attached to his halter was just for show. He didn't need it at all. As they walked into the barn, Lilly's Arabian was pacing her stall. "Melody! Chill out, would yah?" Lilly scolded the horse, giggling slightly. Melody turned towards the sound of her owner, and whinnied delightfully at the sight of Arrow. The Thoroughbred nickered softly back to his lover. "Hey!" an unfamiliar voice calls out. Lilly turned towards the sound and smiled at the girl approaching her. "Hello!" Lilly said and continues to open the stall door next to Melody. She leads Arrow into the stall, and unclips his lead. Lilly walked out of the stall and latched the door behind her. She watched her gelding carefully, making sure he had everything he needed. Arrow paced the stall and when he felt comfortable, he leaned his head out of the door and nickered again to Melody. The mare flicked her head up to the familiar sound and seemed to calm down. She wasn't a bad horse, just a little jumpier than most. It made for an interesting ride, that was for sure. Lilly turned back towards the girl, offering her another smile and an extended hand. "I'm Lilliana, she introduced herself, "But call me Lilly." It was good Lilly was meeting a new person. She needed someone to show her around this town and maybe strike up a new friendship. [/ul] Notes;; Me too! They'll be good friends, I'm sure!

& DON'T YOU WORRY YOUR PRETTY LITTLE MIND PEOPLE THROW ROCKS AND THINGS THAT SHINE ( but they can't take what's ours ) Abby raised her hand to rub the nose of Lilly's horse. She smiled warmly as she looked over the mares kind face. "She's gorgeous!" She admired the horse before realizing she hadn't even introduced herself. She shook Lilly's hand as she spoke. "I'm Abby Taylor. Call me whatever you like!" She smiled and stood back as an awkward silence grew between the two. She rocked back and forth of her feet a few times before having an idea. "Do you want to go for a hack? I mean I know it's cold out and that we only just met but it's a great way to see the property, especially if you're new!" Abby had to shut herself up before she scared the poor girl. Abby was basically bipolar when she met someone knew, she either talked too much or didn't talk enough. Either way it usually just annoyed people. She flicked her plait over her shoulder and adjusted her flannel shirt. She'd have to grab her puffer jacket out of her car if she was going to go for a hack, as it wasn't particularly thick.

broken arrow. Just A Simple Melody.Truck. Trailer. The Arabian mare whinnied at the other girl as she stroked her nose. The horse knew her beauty, that was for sure. "She's gorgeous!" the girl said, and Lilly smiled at her. "And she knows it, too," she joked, and let go of the girl's hand. Lilly looked back at the mare who proudly held her head up, and flicked her ears forward as she listened to the two girls. "I'm Abby Taylor. Call me whatever you like!" Abby had introduced herself. There weren't many ways to shorten Abby, as it was probably already a nickname. But at the same time, it might not be. She wasn't sure, and she wasn't going to ask. There wasn't much point. "Do you want to go for a hack? I mean I know it's cold out and that we only just met but it's a great way to see the property, especially if you're new!" the other girl suggested. Lilliana nodded, ready to get back on her horses. She would ride in the snow if she was given the chance and her horses could handle it. "Sure!" she agreed, walking towards her gelding. He'd be the better of the two horses to take, especially with another unfamiliar horse. Melody wouldn't handle it well, spooking at everything they came across that looked a bit strange or moved. Lilly wasn't ready to deal with that, although the mare wouldn't be too happy in her stall without Arrow. But she'd be better off in her stall than in the pasture with a bunch of unfamiliar horses. Once they were settled in more, Melody would be just fine. [/ul]

Taz shrugged off feelings of loneliness as she grabbed Miles' red and white striped lead rope and the ratty old halter from his stall door. She could hear the sound of voices in the distance, one was Abby for sure, she would know Abby's voice anywhere, after riding with her for ages. It really wasn't that she wanted to talk to Abby and her new friend, because like the rest of the town's residents, they would probably just tease her about her used clothes, messy hair, and retarded horse. And right now, Taz really just wasn't in the mood to deal with that. Tossing her long braid back, Taz lifts up the bolt to Miles' door and slips inside. The bay nuzzles her gently, snuffling her hair and wuffing her hands softly for treats. Taz runs her hand up the bay's face, starting by tracing her index finger along his snipped nose, tracing the soft bay's face until she reaches his large star which, she gives a soft pat to. "Here bud," Taz whispers to the horse, and slips his a loose peppermint from her jacket pocket. With a graceful and experienced movement, Taz slips the halter on the horse, buckles it, and pulls the bay into the open. Miles' feet clack on the cool floor as Taz leads him out. There, she sees Abby and the new girl, chatting and petting their horses. Taz scrowls, as much as she would like to introduce herself, woulden't it just be AWKWARD? It seems like it always is. Ever since she lost dad, everyone says the Taz had really just lost her magic charm. But it wasen't like she accutally cared. All she cared about was Miles. Proving she was better than this stinking life. Proving herself to everyone, most of all herself. Miles stops to stare at the two figures down the row, and snorts nervously. "C'mon, you big chicken!" Taz hollers a little louder than she needed to. Miles snorts and spooks at her echoing voice. He prances, pulling on the leadrope to dance into the sunlight. Damn. Taz really should have ridden yesterday, instead of just tossing Miles some hay and moodily stalking off. Her mom was working extra hours, and that always made Taz moody. She was mad at her dad for leaving, mad at her mom's boss for not giving her the raise or bonus she desprately desereved, mad that they didn't have enough money to send Taz to any real shows, just dinky local schooling shows. And that they didn't have the money to pay for a trainer, so Taz had to deal with her mentally retated horse by herself. Giving the lead rope a yank Taz hisses at her horse "Miles. Seriously, come ON!" The sharp yank spooks Miles, and he lunges forward, hitting Taz with his big old hunking shoulder. The lead rope slithers from her grasp and she hits the ground. On her butt. Hard. But being a little sore isn't her problem right now. Far from it, in fact. Her biggest problem is the fact that her mental Thoroughbred/Warmblood is snorting, leaping and racing down the barn isle. Toward Abby and the new girl. And the open. Dang it. ***Notes: Yay, this is my first real play post EVER!! Yipppeeee!!!! ;P***

Lilliana had agreed to it and in her head, Abby had already compiled a list of all the things she needed. In the distance she could hear a muffled voice trying to encourage a stubborn horse. Abby didn’t recognize the voice-probably because it was muffled-so continued thinking. ”I’ll need to grab my puffer jacket out of the car, I’ve been training in the indoor arena all day clearly.” She indicated towards her thin flannel shirt. ”How about we meet at the outdoor arena in like,” she paused, calculating how long it would take her to get ready. ”Fifteen to twenty minutes?” She nodded and leaned forward off the stall door just as the previously muffled and somewhat calm voice, made a reappearance. This time Abby could recognize it as Tazara’s. This time it was a lot closer.
This time it was a lot less calm.
Abby whipped around to see Taz sitting on her butt in the middle of the corridor, clearly her fall had hurt but she was only worried about her horse who was now blazing towards her and Lilli. Not sure whether or not Lilliana had realized, she grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the way. They fell back against the stall doors once more, startling the horse inside. It whipped past heading towards the exit of the barn. Abby looked after it and then turned back towards Taz. “Lilli, get Taz!” With out a second thought she whipped around and sprinted out the door in pursuit of the horse, feeling for any spare treats in her pockets.
Abby felt a blast of cold air as she rounded the corner and saw the large open doors of the barn. The horse was already 30 metres from the barn. Abby knew she wasn’t going to catch up. She screeched to a halt and stood in the doorway of the barn, with one hand on her hip and the other on her forehead. As she caught her breath she thought about how they were going to catch him again. Taz was known for having one of the unruliest horses at Crossfire, though it wasn’t her fault. She made her way back to the others, thoughts swirling in her mind. 398, TAZARA KOPLAI and LILLIANA POTTER, OUTFIT and HAIR, NEW TEMPLATE. I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO HARD TO READ OR ANYTHING |

Taz gasped as Miles raced towards the barn exit, the open doors, and freedom. Taz gasped, eyes widening. Miles heading for the great wide open was never a good thing, espically now, when he was hyper. Feet smacking the ground as she ran, Taz sprinted after her loose horse. By the time she rounded the corrider, Miles was galloping off into the parking lot, head high, tail spewed out behind him like some sort of racehorse. His leadrope swirled around his legs, threating to trip him up and send him sprawiling to the ground. Sure, Taz got frustruated with her horse, a lot, but the mere though of him getting hurt made her wince. Dang, she had better catch Miles before he inturrupted a lesson. Then she would be in BIG trouble. Again. Last time he had gotten loose, he had spooked a new rider on her horse, and had gotten her bucked off. That had earned her a good lecture and a call home. Her mom had been pretty dissapointed that Taz 'failed to control her horse and it resulted in the injury of others.' She had better catch her boy before she earned a repeat of that. "Miles," She calles softly, "Mi mi!" Miles slowed to a quick trot and peeked back to look at her, blowing and troting in a large circle around her. She knew from experience with him that chasing him or trying to grab him was fruitless, all she would end up with was a heap of trouble and a loose horse. "Miles, C'mon boy, it's alright. Shhhhh, shhhhh, buddy you're gonna be OK. Easy now, easy." Taz cooed to her slowly slowing horse as he eyed her warily. You would think that after owning Miles for as long as Taz had, he would trust her some tiny bit. Miles came to a halt, finally, and Taz allowed herself to breathe. Now, all she had to do was grab his lead rope and- Miles lept into the air as if something had stung him, for absolutely no apparent reason. He stepped into a strong trot and took off in the direction of the trails, the stopped after a few strides, peering back at Taz. "What Mi?" Taz stepped forward and crinkled her pants pocket, relieved to hear a crinkle from the candy bar she ate earlier. Miles' ear immediately pricked at the sound of possible munchies, and he stepped forward hesitently. A grin spead over Taz's face. Finally, she could catch her boy. Miles, look! I have cookies! Yummy yummy." Taz took a slow, easy step towards the bay, crinking the wrapper temptingly. Miles, unable to resist the temptation of food, walked easily over to her. Taz grabbed the lead rope before the bay could change his mind, and pulled him forward. Miles didn't even seem to mind the fact that he was caught, just curious for the sound of the food. Still grinning, Taz led her bay back toward the barn, patting him softly on the neck. Crisis averted.

broken arrow. Just A Simple Melody.Truck. Trailer. Lilliana ignored the new voices in the barn, not worried about anything going on around her. She looked at Abby as she spoke and nodded. "Eh, give me twenty. Gotta figure out which one of these guys is going," she said, gesturing towards the horses. Arrow was probably the better one to take, because he'd get along with new horses better. But Melody just wasn't ready to be left alone yet. Lilly didn't want to be stuck with an injured mare just because she was afraid of being alone. Lilly stroked Melody's forelock, thinking of where she had put all of the mare's tack. She hadn't even gotten quite settled into the barn yet. Most of her stuff was still in the trailer, but it wasn't going to hurt it. Her trailer was still in the parking lot, out of everyone's way. She didn't think anyone would mind if she left it there while Abby and her went on a trail ride. The faint voice got louder, and Lilly heard a loud thud. She looked past Abby to see a girl sitting on her butt and a horse running through the barn. What would the owners think if they saw a horse knock their owner over flat like that? Lilly didn't think anyone was allowed to own a dangerous horse in the barn, but she wasn't quite sure. Abby snapped directions at Lilly, and the blonde nodded. Who was Taz? She watched Abby run after the horse, so Lilly figured she must have been talking about the girl. But once she got over to the girl, she was snapped at again. Apparently, she didn't need help. Lilly watched the girl run after the horse as well. She figured the two girls could get the horse under control, but she walked after them anyways. She was curious on what was going on, and why the horse just took off like that. By the time Lilly made it out of the barn, the unfamiliar girl had the horse under control. She looked over at Abby, giving her a strange look. She then looked at the girl, and her eyes softened. "You okay?" she asked, cautiously. She didn't want the girl to be offended by her words. Lilly walked over towards Abby, and shrugged. It was apparently a very eventful day in the barn. Hopefully, not too many people noticed. It wouldn't be good if there were rumors that a crazy horse was running around the barn. [/ul] Notes;; Thanks for fixing that Taz!

Taz looked over and noticed Abby and the new girl standing by the barn. The stranger was very pretty, with beautiful long blonde hair dancing around her shoulders. Should she go introduce herself? Sure, now that she had Miles under control, she may as well so no bad ideas started running around. Taz led her bay over to the two girls, feet feeling like lead. She felt dumb, like a little walk-trotter with a too-hard-to-handle horse that she coulden't control. Halting Miles before he ran over the two girls, Taz stopped and looked at the girls. The new girl said; "You okay?" To Taz. Her eyes were just the littleist bit soft, not harsh or judging for her losing control of her horse. It was nice, not to be judged for a change. "Um, uh, hey. Sorry I-" Taz shifted uneasily. Talking to people wasn't exactly her specailty. Usually she would say the riding or horses was, but after that little blowup, she wasn't sure she could say that she was usually good with horses. "-I kinda snapped at you, I was, ur, just concerned about Miles." Taz gives her horse a little pat on the forehead and smiles thinly at the girl, feeling more and more awkward by the moment. The older girl seemed waay too far out of her leauge. Usually older, no, really everyone, looked down on Tazara Koplai and her pshyco horse, Miles Away. And it really wasn't that he was crazy, just, spirited. Taz liked his spirit. Sometimes.
"Um, hey Abby." Taz turned to the girl she kinda new, giving her a little more of a real smile. "Thanks for helping me grab Miles," She looked back and forth between the two faces, trying to read their thoughts.

Taz gripped the bay's reins and she led him down the isle. Miles' head was high, his ears pricked, and he snorted and spooked at everything. Taz cursed herself for the hundreth time for not getting Miles out yesterday, the eight year old obviously needed it. Suddenly, Miles spooked at some unseen demon as the entered the sunlight, leaping straight up in the air and kicking out fiercly. "Miles! Quit!" Taz gave the gelding a rough yank and pulled the fiery horse toward the mounting block, giving his neck a small pat as he stood somewhat quietly. Taz winced as her used consignment riding britches streched and creaked as she pulled herself into the tack. Taz didn't even have her right foot in the iron, just brushed it, as Miles lept forward. Hands clenching on the reins, with gritted teeth, the teenage girl managed to sit her horse's mini temper tantrum. Sliding both feet into her irons, Taz shortened her worn jumper reins and lightly squeezed the gelding's sides. Miles pranced forward, moving into a jouncing trot, head held high and tail out. Man, he was high. The girl turned her bay away from the barns, walking him toward the main ring. If anyone needed a work today, it would be Miles.
