Storm my black spotted great dane seeing eye dog led up the steps into a club in West Addison. I followed him carefully so I didn't bump into anything or anyone. I was holding tightly onto the handle bar attached to Storm's harness and we wandered the various areas of the Club i'd only come here to sit and relax and maybe get a soda and something to eat really me and Storm needed a chance to relax after all of the insanity of the past few days.
I felt around until I felt the back of chair once Storm stopped and sat myself down. I looked up as the sound of footsteps announced the arrival of someone the clicking sound on the hardwood told me that who ever was coming was either an adult, the librarian or someone who liked high heels. Turns out it was the waitress coming over who said, "You and your dog are going have to leave we can't have you in here with a dog I looked up at where I assumed the barista was and said, "Oh but you see he's a service dog i'm allowed to go all public places with it's the law ma'am"
The woman shook her head causing her earrings to jangle loudly before she said, "I don't care! it's bad for my business we simply cannot have a smelly dirty dog in here! you'll have to leave I cannot serve you" I shook my head in shock at the woman and said, "Storm is smelly or dirty i'll have you know I bathed him before I left the house this morning and your breaking the law by not servicing me"

It was after a long day of working at the stable and with the dogs and moving in that Maxxie decided to come round the pub and get something to drink. He watched the faces of people exiting as held the door for them to get out, the all seemed rather content or happy. Once thy all finished passing through Maxxie swung the glass painted door out a bit more and entered casually. It was getting darker and the room seemed to just have that haze of black everywhere. It was calming almost. People were sitting at various tables on a flat hard wood floor that hand one indent for lower tables. Occasionally a waitress would pass but with cooling drinks on a black platter with little yellow slices of lemon.
It was calming the whole thing until Maxx squinted to notice a woman making a commotion to some guy with a dog who made some rebuttals. A first, he thought that it was just about having a dog in here. When he took a small step to the side however he could see the harness on the large dogs frame, the man he was looking at the lady but to him it seemed blank and endless. This would not stand in Maxxies book. He started over to the people, his boots from the day making his footsteps sound heavy and harsh even though they were not really.
"I refuse to serve you." was all he really needed to hear from the woman to actually say something to her. He walked up to the side of them and stood erect, body language and all that stuff. "Is there a problem here, if you don't serve him I will. This animal is actually in the best condition at the moment."he spoke sternly in a heavy british accent. Lord knows he didn't work there but he would any way because maybe this guy had the same day he had and just really didn't need some one bitching about something stupid. And plus his dog was actually very clean, for someone who trained dogs he knows what a well kept animal looked like. He was waiting for the woman's rebuttal as he had already thought of the perfect comback.

I was getting to slowly start to get up to leave when I heard the loud thunking sound of boots on the ground as someone approached me and barista and took a stand I glanced in their general direction surprised and flattered that someone had come to my aid. I slid myself back into my seat. Despite the other person's comment the barista however was still pleading her case get me and Storm out but now she tried a different tactic "Look...the kid doesn't have to leave but the dog does all you need is to have the dog tied up outside i'll ever tie him up for you here"
I grabbed Storm's leash and pulled him closer and said, "Don't touch my dog, you have no right t touch my dog I need him with me he's a seeing eye dog I need him" the barista shook her head and said, 'I'll tie him up outside and bring him back to you when you finish your meal and you, young man can go back to your seat I don't need your input"
