the cold air rushed to him as he came out the building. he shivered, rubbing his hands against the arms of his waterproof coat. the sun was rising, and despite the harsh wind, the sun beat down on the boy. a hand ran through his hair roughly as he made his way to the stable block. the boy paused before holding out a mint in his hand and chuckling as char golloped it up. he slipped into the stable, grabbing a dandy brush. he started to brush the mud off char's coat and the chestnut mare greeted this with a low nicker, nudging her muzzle onto his shoulder. he turned and patted the mare on her neck. his words were not much more than a whisper 'morning char.' the horses head tilted downwards and munched up a few loose strands of hay from the haynet. he worked over her full coat and then moved onto the body brush, working in circular motions to get the coat shining. he wasn't going to spend too long grooming considering he was just jogging out on a trail so that char was exercised. then if she was ok, he'd go back to the ring.
he picked out her feet and then ran a comb through her mane quickly before dumping the brushes in his tack box and grabbing char's all purpose saddle and bridle. he slid the magenta red saddle pad before lowering the brown saddle. he flicked on the bridle in expert speed with only a slight problem of getting in the bit. he grabbed his hat and then beau set out. he kicked char on and picked up the reins as he swung into the saddle. he got comfortable then relaxed put char into a faster walk. after walking a little, beau pushed his chestnut into a slow collected trot. Feels like I'm drowning in the rain & If I [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 0b0b0b; width: 399px; padding: 5 5 5 5px; border-bottom: 12px solid #a4cab4; border-top: 12px solid #a4cab4;]shout aloud, You won't even hear me now Despite the fact that Viv no longer lived on a property with a tonne of her mother’s dressage horses, not to mention her client’s horses, that needed caring for, Viv still had a hard time sleeping in, and today was no exception to that rule. She had gotten up early, as usual, despite the fact that she really could have slept in today and headed out to the barn after she had gotten ready, although the cold outside almost made her turn straight back around and go back to bed. But she soldiered through it anyway and by the time she had finished getting Doc ready for a ride she had warmed up a bit from moving around.
Once the gelding was groomed and tacked up and ready to go, she took him outside, figuring that since the weather, despite cold that morning, wasn’t actually too bad out, she’d hit the trails with him since she hadn’t done so in a while. Doc seemed eager to get out as well, it would probably do him some good to get out of the ring, where he had been confined to for a couple of weeks now, and have a day off any huge amount of work.
Once they got onto the trails, she nudged him into a slow trot, letting him stretch out over a couple of yards, holding him back when he strived to go at a faster pace, she’d wait until he had warmed up a little more before she would let him go any faster. Reaching a bend in the trail, she pulled him back to a walk, on the off chance that someone would happen to be riding ahead of her, not wanting to end up running into their behinds because she hadn’t noticed, although when she turned the bend there was nobody there, so it really wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
The sound of hoof beats behind them caught her attention, glancing over her shoulder as she pulled Doc further over to the side of the trail, just in case the pair coming up behind them at a trot wanted to pass, not wanting to get in their way. beau | 362 | outfit | sorry for the wait, i've been super busy! |

he stayed still to let the horse move under him. he felt char's smooth pace as she ate up the ground at an extended trot. beau pulled the mare down into a working trot before guiding the mare onto a more grassy part of the trail. he sat deep and squeezed gently. sending the chestnut into a flowing canter. the mare faltered to start with, but with encouraging kicks from beau she she settled into a good pace. as he travelled further and further, the pleasure grew greater. he hadn't been this happy for a long time. the wind on his face, cantering across the fields with his horse. what more could he ask for. but the best was yet to come.
he pushed on and stood higher in her stirrups. he took char down to a trot and trotted leisurely onto the fields. he moved into a canter again, and before long, he shortened his reins and crept into a jockey position. he gave char the word and the mare flew into a gallop. char wasn't just a thoroughbred for nothing. she had been bred for this. beau had always wished to race, and with char he had thought he could. but problems had got in the way, and he'd just ended up riding english. beau hadn't given up on his dreams though. and he galloped his mare whenever he could. char extended her stride and pushed her neck forward, galloping on faster. just before he reached the end of the field, beau used all of his strength to pull the mare back into a trot, then walk and finally a halt. char stamped her feet and whinnied, still excited from the run. beau felt the mare's neck and wasn't surprised to find it barely damp. he pushed char on and back onto the main trail.
as he joined the trail, beau heard someone ahead of him. he carried on walking, because the hoof beats he heard weren't particularly loud. but after turning a corner, he caught sight of a rider and horse just ahead. char danced around as they drew nearer to the other horse. beau laughed. cut it out char. beau noticed that they slowed and moved to the side of the trail, probably out of politeness. and because he wasn't rude, beau slowed char as well and drew up next to the other horse. he looked up and saw himself looking at a girl with blonde hair. he smiled at the girl and nodded. thanks. he said quietly, because char was already getting hot at the site of another horse less than a metre away from her. char shied from the horse before giving one buck and then settling down as beau moved slightly further away from the other rider. sorry about char, she's just like that.[/style] |

Feels like I'm drowning in the rain & If I [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 0b0b0b; width: 399px; padding: 5 5 5 5px; border-bottom: 12px solid #a4cab4; border-top: 12px solid #a4cab4;]shout aloud, You won't even hear me now Keeping Doc at a steady walk, she occasionally glanced back behind herself at the oncoming horse and rider pair, out of habit more than anything, not wanting to get caught too off guard if they happened to pass close enough to spook her gelding, or if the other horse wasn’t a big fan of her fellow equines. And, of course, you never knew when you were going to come across one of those obnoxious riders who really didn’t care for the safety of other riders and their horses while they were out here, and would do something stupid that could jeopardise them.
The pair pulled up alongside them a little close for her liking, especially with the way that the mare was carrying on when they had, tightening her grip on Doc’s reins a little, the gelding was a fairly calm horse but even he was a little perturbed by a horse carrying on so close to him, especially a horse he had never encountered before. Which, he did, in this situation, turning his head a little to stare at the mare, flicking his ears in her direction before crab hopping slightly to the side when the other horse bucked, Viv expecting it, luckily, and sitting it easily.
Viv glanced over at him as he spoke, giving him her customary polite, friendly smile. “It’s fine,” she answered, glancing at Doc again, the gelding having settled down now that less of his space was being invaded and the other horse had settled a bit more as well. “Luckily he’s not a flightier horse,” she said, reaching down to give Doc a quick pat on the neck.
“She seems like a bit of a handful,” she said, nodding towards the male’s mare. She’d ridden plenty of highly strung horses herself before, but she’d been fairly lucky to land with two reasonably well behaved horses for now. Illusion more than Doc, admittedly, but even Doc wasn’t so bad, he got a little excited when he saw a jump but otherwise he was fairly good. beau | 341 | outfit | sorry again for the wait... i'm a bit behind atm |

beau grinned and stiffened up as he saw the girl's grip on the reins. she pulled char sideways a bit more to give the girl and her horse more breathing space. char waited for a few seconds but that was as far as her patience got her and she gave another restless buck. beau sighed and put more pressure on the reins. he needed to change char's bit, and think about doing that quite soon. he smiled as the girl seemed to accept his apology. thanks. he added, again out of politeness. beau wasn't the sort of person who did not are about other people's horses, in fact he hated those people that were like that. he put his reins in one hand to shake the girl's hand then realised it wasn't such a sensible idea with char acting the way she was. so he simply just introduced himself. my name's - i'm beau. what about you? he offered a smile to cover up his mess of words.
beau glanced down at char as the girl gave the comment about char. he nodded sadly. he'd tried to get it out of her. it had never worked. yes i'm afriad. she's always been like that. always will be sad to say i know. but she's great in the showing ring, never puts a foot wrong. he smiled to himself, char made up for her misbehaving by being incredible in the ring. and because of that, he didn't care that she was naughty when training as long as the training got done. and generally it did because if char was naughty she was still willing to work.
