She actually had gotten up at a decent time and hit the gym, where she had been avoiding as of recent. Not because she hated the gym, but just because she figured she had more important things to do and was running around so much that she didn't need the gym. On top of that she had finally gotten around to grocery shopping so she had no excuse to eat out. She had perfectly eatable food in her cabinets and her fridge that were a lot better for her. Secretly she knew that she would still end up eating at some fast food establishment, but at least she was half way to eating better.
Of course since she had actually gone shopping that day she forced herself to cook dinner before settling in to do nothing for the night. She planned on making her fettuccine, possibly watching a movie, most likely taking a bubble bath, and then settling in for bed. She had finished her noodles and put the leftovers in the fridge so that she could eat them the next day and had made her way back to her room. She stripped herself of her jeans and the shirt she had been wearing that day before digging through her drawer for something comfy. She ended up pulling out a huge shirt that she was pretty sure she commandeered from one of her male friends, she just wasn't sure exactly who. Shrugging that thought off she slipped the shirt on and made her way back to her living room.
Parker walk/danced over to the door, making sure it was locked since she knew if she didn't check now she would forget later and some crazy person might end up walking in. She picked up the remote to her stereo and pressed play, dancing back over to her kitchen area to pour herself a glass of wine before she went to go pick a movie. The song that played was so upbeat though that she got distracted and she had to set her wine down so that she could dance around her living room. She was just glad no one was there to see it. so call me when you get here [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 0b0b0b; width: 399px; padding: 5 5 5 5px; border-bottom: 12px solid #5D7D7D; border-top: 12px solid #5D7D7D;] AND TELL ME WHEN YOU HIT THAT GROUND Nick hadn’t had any bookings at either of the nightclubs in Addison, or the surrounding towns tonight, but he wasn’t complaining, it was nice to not have to go to a noisy club every night, and who ever complained about having a night off? He wasn’t exactly going broke either, he didn’t throw his money around an awful lot so he could afford not to work occasionally. But he hadn’t wanted to sit around in his apartment all night either, he wasn’t one that was very good at sitting around doing nothing so he had headed to the first place he thought of… Parker’s apartment. Well, she hadn’t texted him telling him not to come over, and he knew she wasn’t working so he guessed that it would be okay.
So he had headed over there, on foot, considering his own apartment building wasn’t too far from where hers was situated, so there was really no point in driving or riding his motorcycle there, despite the cold outside. It didn’t take him long to reach her apartment building, taking the stairs up to her floor rather than using the elevator, fishing the key to her apartment that she had given him out of his pocket on the way up. Luckily he had remembered it, trying her door when he got up there it was locked, which was an easy fix with the key.
Walking in and shutting the door behind him, relocking it, the first thing he spotted inside the place was Parker dancing around her living room, wearing a shirt that he recognised as one of his. “You could give MC Hammer a run for his money,” he called, over the music, laughing as he spoke. “Also, I was wondering where that shirt went. Remind me to check to make sure you haven’t stolen any more of my clothes next time you leave my place.” mae | 316 | outfit | a pooost |

She was just so into the song that was blasting out of her speakers. This really seemed to happen on a daily basis to her. The dancing. Not the guy walking into her apartment. Although that happened quiet often too. And it was usually Nick. And if it wasn’t Nick it was someone almost as close to her as Nick was. She was used to her guy friends just crashing at her place. It wasn’t an uncommon thing. She had even come home once and a few of them were there eating whatever she had in her fridge and watching a football game. Yes she had become very used to this invasion of privacy.
When she noticed Nick she didn’t stop dancing. She instead danced over to him. He knew her well enough to know that she was a total dork and did this type of thing all the time. They were best friends. He was used to this by now. She had been this way since she was a kid. If she didn’t act this way she would probably worry him. ‘Psh I could give all of the people in So You Think You Can Dance a run for their money,’ she said with a laugh as she stopped dancing as she reached to an acceptable space between them. ‘You left it here ok. It went into my drawer of shirts that you guys just leave around my place so I confiscate them.’ Ok maybe she didn’t exactly have a drawer of them, but it was close enough.
She grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the couch, using the remote to turn down the music, and flopped down. ‘So what brings you here? Not that you need a reason, just wondering.’ She pulled her legs up to be sitting Indian style on the couch smiling at him. ‘Oh how did your date go?’ Secretly she hoped it went horribly. It really was no secret that she had a crush on Nick. Ok it was a secret to him, but to most of their other friends they knew that Parker had a huge crush on her best friend and no other boy could really get in her vision of it. She wasn’t going to tell Nick though. No way she was ruining the longest friendship she had ever had. so call me when you get here [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 0b0b0b; width: 399px; padding: 5 5 5 5px; border-bottom: 12px solid #5D7D7D; border-top: 12px solid #5D7D7D;] AND TELL ME WHEN YOU HIT THAT GROUND Nick just laughed as she danced her way across the apartment to where he was standing. It was so typically Parker, he had probably seen her do this, or at least similar, a million times since they were kids, and it had been one of those things that hadn’t changed as they had grown older. Probably one of the things that contributed to the fact he was as vastly different from his father and brother as he could get… because he surrounded himself with people who weren’t like them, as much as he loved them, since they were his family. He just couldn’t do quiet. “Yeah, you might be able to do that. being pant less might give you bonus points,” he joked along with her, a grin spreading across his face as he spoke.
“I suppose you can keep it then. It looks better on you anyway. But that doesn’t mean I won’t come and steal it back if I need it,” he answered, letting Parker grab his hand and lead him over to the couch, sitting on the opposite end of the couch to where she had flopped down herself, spreading himself there comfortably, just like he usually did.
He shrugged when she asked why he was there, letting out a deep breath and running a hand through his hair. “No particular reason, just visiting. I’m not working tonight and I knew you weren’t, and I was bored, so here I am,” he replied. Well, that wasn’t exactly something out of the norm for him to do. Parker’s was typically his first choice when it came to going somewhere in situations like this, either by himself, or with Griffin and Scott. “It went alright. Got cut a bit short though… and she told me she has a kid,” he said, glancing over at her as he spoke. mae | 309 | outfit | a pooost |

She loved hanging out with Nick for this reason. No matter what the occasion the two always ended up laughing. She remembered in high school her first broken heart she had instantly gone to see Nick. He of course bought her ice cream and chocolate syrup and somehow by the end of the night they were running around a park and her tears of sadness were just tears from laughing too hard. She really couldn’t imagine her life with Nick not in it any more. Sure when she went to school he wasn’t there anymore, but they talked every day and skyped whenever possible. Plus she would come home on weekends that there weren’t football games or he wasn’t coming up. It was being away from him though that really made her realize how much she cared about him. It was probably a month after her first semester at college that she realized she was totally and completely in love with Nick. It was probably good she hadn’t realized it in high school though. They were older now. Loving him could actually mean something. Not that it wouldn’t have in high school, but the likelihood of a high school relationship lasting were very slim. So she was glad they remained friends, but now that she was back she just wished that something could be done to move them past just friends.
‘Being pants less would definitely give me bonus points. I mean, have you seen my legs?’ she said laughing a bit more. ‘You can’t suppose anything. It’s my shirt. Been here at least three months. Once it’s been three months it’s mine. And it does look better on me,’ she said poking his shoulder, another grin growing on her face. ‘Why would you ever need it? You have enough shirts of your own. You don’t need mine.’ Ok so yes technically it was his. And yes technically she couldn’t do anything if he showed up while she was gone to take it back since he had a key. But she was determined to keep the shirt for herself.
‘What a better way to spend a night off. With the most amazing girl you now. Scratch that. The most amazing person you know.’ Honestly Parker was glad that he came over. Even though it probably hadn’t been more than a day since she had last seen him it felt like forever. She was pretty sure he’d probably end up staying the night and she really didn’t mind. It was Nick after all. ‘She has a kid? And she told you on the first date? Run Nick. Run as fast and far as you can. That’s a warning sign. Get out. Danger Will Robinson.’ She laughed a bit poking him a bit more. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 101010; border: #262626 solid 10px; width: 515px; padding: 5 5 5 5px;]It felt good to be back to this. It hadn’t fully hit him how much he had missed Parker when she had gone away from school until she had come back. Maybe he just hadn’t tried to think about it too much while she had been gone, but he had missed her a lot. They had grown up together, basically, and she was one of his closest friends and he didn’t know what he would do without her. He would be lying if he said that he hadn’t thought of her as more than a friend on more than one occasion, but he had never followed through with that, she was his best friend and the last thing he wanted to do was screw anything up there. He doubted he would have let it get to him too much to get in the way of their friendship if she had rejected him but he didn’t want to risk that. Plus, as teenagers, perhaps it wouldn’t have been the best route to choose. Sure, maybe they would have turned out like those couples that had fallen in love as kids and were together for sixty years or something, but how often did that turn out well?
“Maybe, but then again, considering most dancers don’t wear much to begin with, it’s not like they wouldn’t have seen their fair share of bare legs, so you might not have too much of an advantage,” he pointed out, grinning again. “And as if you don’t have enough clothes without needing to steal mine as well… I’ve seen your wardrobe, so you can’t deny it,” he said, swatting her hand away playfully as she poked him on the shoulder, chuckling as he spoke. “And really, I probably don’t have enough shirts to spare. I hate clothes shopping, so I’d rather not have to go and do it because you’ve taken all of my shirts… then again, people probably wouldn’t be complaining too much if I showed up at work shirtless.”
“I’ll admit that you’re pretty awesome,” he conceded. Well, he did think that she was pretty amazing, so it wasn’t a lie. But of course, said lightly, to match with the tone of the conversation that they had been having since he had arrived at her apartment and she’d realised that he was there. And he just had to laugh when she started talking again, shaking his head a little at what she’d said. “It’s not so bad, she’s really nice… I’m still trying to wrap my head around it a bit though, it was a bit of a big thing for a first date… you know I never really planned on doing the whole kids thing for a while yet.” - - - - - - - - - - it doesn't matter when we get back to doing what we do, 'cause right now could last forever just as long as i'm with you, you're just a daydream away, i wouldn't know what to say if i had you, and i'll keep you a daydream away, just watch from a safe place, so i never have to lose |

Agree with me or pay the price.’ She pointed a threatening finger at him trying hard not to laugh. It was so easy being around Nick. She just was herself. Not that she wasn’t herself in any other situation, but it was just easier with Nick. She felt like she could be a little more weird than she normally would be and it be perfectly ok. She attributed it to the fact that she had known the boy since she was ten. It had been almost eleven years so of course she could easily slip into her natural state with him. But then again, she had known Kennedy since she was five and sometimes she didn’t act as weird or goofy around her as she did around Nick. Those were little details though and she tried to forget them knowing that friendship was all there ever would be from their relationship.
‘I do not have that many clothes Nicholas. I don’t know what you are talking about.’ If you stepped into Parker’s closet you would see an explosion of the most random mixture of clothing. Most of them either t-shirts or those big comfy cute tops. If not those then her different array of clothing that she had to wear to work. And on top of that for some reason she still held onto the clothes she used to wear for riding competitions. She just couldn’t get herself to throw them away just in case she ever changed her mind and wanted to get Jimmy back into the competition scene. ‘Maybe that’s my evil plan Nicky. Steal all your shirts so you are forced to be perpetually shirtless.’ This flirty element had always been a part of their relationship and there was no way that Parker saw it changing anytime soon. Plus she would not be complaining if Nick was constantly shirtless. Just because he was her best friend did not mean she did not find the man attractive. ‘Meaning I will be needing to steal that shirt from you. Hand it over.’ She stuck her hand out highly doubting that he would actually take his shirt off, but she might as well stick to the story she had fabricated.
‘Only pretty awesome? I am the most awesome person you know Nicky. she said shoving his arm once more. She let her head rest on her hand after pulling it back to her knowing that she was on thin ice with all the shoving, but would continue regardless. ‘Ya I know you didn’t Nick. If you don’t feel ready then don’t let her make you feel pressured. Look out for yourself Nick.’ She knew that one day Nick would be a great father. But that was one day in the future. She knew he friend and today was not that day. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 101010; border: #262626 solid 10px; width: 515px; padding: 5 5 5 5px;]“Yes, your legs are much better,” he answered, chuckling as he spoke. It had been like this between them since they had been kids, really… well obviously, the older they got the more mature their conversations tended to get – although obviously they were also still prone to their more immature moments – but it always felt so easy around Parker, it always had been. Not that he had trouble feeling comfortable around most people, but it was still different with her anyway. She was his best friend, always had been, and losing her would kill him. It had been hard enough when she’d gone away for college.
He raised his eyebrows at her, pulling a slight face. “Oh, so we’re going with my full name now, are we?” he said, the tones of his voice joking. “And don’t deny it, you know it’s true. If you have more clothes than me, then as far as I’m concerned you have a lot,” he added, laughing again. Okay, that wasn’t really true, he didn’t have that many clothes to begin with, probably less than a lot of people so it really wasn’t a good measure of how many articles of clothing the average person had.
He shook his head, clinging to himself dramatically. “Nope. This one’s mine. I refuse to give it to you. You’ll have to fight me for it,” he answered, grinning again. Although if he ended up staying the night here he’d probably end up losing it at some point, well, before he went to sleep anyway, as usual. Just not right now, and she’d have to give it back anyway when he left to go home in the morning. “And I knew that was your plan all along. You can’t fool me Parker. I know you too well.”
He nodded when she said that he’d make a good dad one day. He didn’t doubt that one day he would be a good dad, he just wasn’t ready for it right now. Especially so soon. “I know. I mean, I haven’t even really thought about kids yet, I mean I kind of have but it was more of an in the future when I’m in a stable relationship I’ve been in for a while… I mean I have no problem with it being someone else’s kid but you know, there’s usually a build up to that sort of thing, not just all at once,” he told her. - - - - - - - - - - it doesn't matter when we get back to doing what we do, 'cause right now could last forever just as long as i'm with you, you're just a daydream away, i wouldn't know what to say if i had you, and i'll keep you a daydream away, just watch from a safe place, so i never have to lose |

Really if anyone looked into the conversations they would be lost and confused and probably thought this was more than a little innocent flirting. But that’s all it was. They were just friends and their weird flirty comments were what made them them. They wouldn’t be Nick and Parker if they didn’t have the more than occasional flirty comment. Actually most of their conversations consisted with at least some type of flirty comment every few moments. Not that Parker cared. It was what she was used to after all. ‘Yep. Full name because this is serious business,’ she said trying her hardest to look serious at him, although she was failing. ‘Nick you have less clothes than a hobo. Hobos have more clothes than you. That says something. I have the amount of clothes a normal person has. You need to get more clothes hobo man.’ She couldn’t help but laugh at the image in her head of Nick comparing how many clothes he had to a hobo. She could just see it now. And the hobo would feel bad for him. If that ever happened Parker hoped that she was there to witness it.
‘I’ll fight you for it Nick. Don’t tempt me.’ She would too. She couldn’t even count on two hands how many times her and Nick had ended up wrestling over something. Just like the flirty comments it was just a part of their relationship. It was just who they were. ‘Well if you know me so well could you guess I was going to do this?’ And with that she launched towards Nick. She pulled at her shirt trying to take it just so she could add it to her collection and make hobos feel worse for him. ‘Give me your shirt Nick!’
Parker nodded a little trying to catch her breath after attacking Nick. ‘Ya I know Nick. Then back off. Don’t talk to her as much. Or tell her how you’re feeling. I mean are you wanting to actually date this girl?’ Parker could tell by the way that Nick was talking that he didn’t, but she might as well ask. Less clothes than a hobo? I know I don’t have an extremely extensive wardrobe but I still think I’m doing slightly better than that,” he objected, laughing as he spoke. Okay, he really didn’t think that he was that bad, maybe he didn’t exactly enjoy going clothes shopping at the best of times but he did have enough clothes to last him at least two weeks or so, maybe a little more, without having to do any laundry. Probably less now that she somehow kept ending up with his shirts, but it wasn’t like he was that worried about people seeing him wearing the same outfit too often, it wasn’t something he particularly cared about. “And you have to admit, I probably have a bigger wardrobe than Scott and Griff.”
He just laughed, reaching a hand up to run it through his hair, half stifling a yawn as he did so. “Yeah, I know you will,” he answered, grinning again – then again, he might have just been grinning from ear to ear the entire time he had been in the apartment anyway – not even the least bit surprised when she jumped on him and proceeded to try and tug his shirt straight off him, fighting her off half-heartedly for a few moments before easily picking her up and sitting her back down next to him on the couch. “And yes, I did know you were going to do that… I can see right through you,” he told her, leaving an arm around her while they sat there.
His laughter died a little as the conversation took a more serious turn again, letting out a deep breath as she spoke, and as he thought about what she’d said. “No, I don’t think I do… it’s just hard to just cut it off though, you know me… she has a kid and everything and I’ll probably end up sounding like an asshole when I try to explain,” he answered. It wasn’t like he had trouble breaking up with people if he needed to, this was just one of those tricky situations that was harder to work around. because lately, this is what it's all about i'm yours, tell me that you're mine, can we say goodbye & drive away tonight, & i just want to say, here & now i am not afraid to drive away, drive away with you, just maybe, we can take the long way home, because lately, this is what it's all about, can we say goodbye & drive away tonight |

Less clothes than a hobo.’ She loved making fun of Nick. She had been doing it since they were little. She was pretty sure one of their first conversations was her making fun of him for one thing or another. It just was their relationship dynamic and she really wouldn’t change it for the world. She could literally sit here for hours just joking around with Nick and making fun of him and then talking about something serious before going back to joking. ‘Ya probably. You three are the less than hobo gang obviously. I am friends with a bunch of people who are lower than hobos. What has my life come to?’ she asked trying hard not to laugh.
‘I will and I will come out the victor. Just you wait.’ She poked his shoulder trying to look stern and menacing. Not that she could ever truly look menacing, but she could at least try. She knew there was no way she would win unless Nick let her because well Nick was bigger and stronger than her. That was just life. ‘So mean. Just let me win for once you big bully.’ she stuck her tongue out before snuggling closer to him. His arm was around her anyways so why not cuddle into him. It wasn’t like they hadn’t cuddled before. In fact all of their hanging out ended in snuggle sessions so this was no surprise.
‘Yes well it would be pretty heartless to go up and tell her you didn’t want to be with her because she has a kid. But you are both adults so I am sure you can have an adult conversation about it without sounding like a total jerk.’ Nick really was one of the nicest people she had ever met so him being portrayed as a jerk just because he wasn’t ready for the commitment that this girl was wanting from him was stupid. She knew that Nick wasn’t ready for that type of thing. Maybe if he had been it would be a different story, but she knew her best friend. He was immature and crazy and definitely not ready to father children.
