The dog pranced excitedly at his side, well aware of where they were going. While it was a bit of a walk, Andrew had been coming to The Sugar Shack with Jet for a while now. Long walks through the town, through the woods, or anywhere really were nice, and Jet had stopped tiring out so quickly a while ago. The dog’s golden coat glittered in the sunlight, and his well-built golden-retriever frame made him appear so regal. No one would guess Andrew had snagged this dog from a kill shelter, granted only skin and bones then, but still a full-bred Golden Retriever, who even in his worst state, was gorgeous, and a sweetheart.
It used to be that he’d tie up Jet outside, go get what he wanted, and then come eat it outside. They’d been coming here enough now that, depending who was working, so long as the place was not to crowded, and no one made any complaints, he could bring Jet inside. The dog wasn’t always the best listener, but he was obedient and relaxed enough that he could behave himself. He was also great with people, and loved the attention that he received, going to places like this. Andrew didn’t particularly love it so much, but he’s learned not to mind it.
Today, the place was practically deserted, so Andrew didn’t tie up his dog, instead going in and walking to the counter, ordering a hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant, everything being better when it was chocolate, of course. He also got a mini muffin for Jet, and paid and made his way to a small table in the corner, in front of the window, and sat down to enjoy his food, unwrapping the mini muffin and sending Jet through a series of tricks before giving him the treat.

m a r l e y into a place where thoughts can bloom into a room where it's nine in the afternoon
The walk down the road was a bit chilly. A nice wind was blowing through the city and Marley was glad she brought a large jacket. Of course even if it wasn't so windy the jacket was still a must. She giggled as two little bundles moved around, trying to get comfortable in the large pockets of the jacket. One poked his nose out and sniffed at the air, his little whiskers twitching.
Marley smiled and reached into her pocket, pulling out the young rat and putting him up on her shoulder while she walked down the sidewalk. The white and tan rodent snuggled down into her neck, using his tail, curling it around her neck for balance.
The sugar shack often let her come in with her rats, after seeing how behaved they were. Seeing as a place couldn't have rats running a muck of their place. The duo usually just ran around on the table and enjoyed a muffin when they went.
Marley made it to the small shop and walked inside, noticing there wasn't many people today. 'I wonder if something is going on in the town..' she thought to herself as she walked up to the counter. She ordered a coffee and a banana muffin for the boys.
After getting her food she walked over to a table, gently taking off her jacket and setting it on the table. A sleepy Draven crawling slowly out of the pocket and stretching with a large yawn. "You're just to cute." she giggled, reaching forward and tickling the rats side. Link ran down her outstretched hand and made it to the table, running over to his brother and licking his face a few times before searching around for the muffin.
Marley unwrapped it and sat it in the middle of the table, taking a sip of her coffee while she watched her two pets eat happily.

Jet had found his comfortable place beneath the table, and was making an excellent footrest for Andy, as he sipped at his hot chocolate. It had always been an issue of his, he could not drink hot chocolate without getting some around his mouth, so he had a napkin in hand to wipe it away.
As a girl entered the shop, Jet’s nose rises into the air and samples it, his ears perking forward, and he jumps to his paws so quickly he hits his head, whimpering. ”Hey! Come on, boy.” Andrew hisses, seizing the dog’s collar and pulling him close, stroking his side comfortingly. The sight of a rat on the girl’s shoulder answers the question of his dog’s behavior. While he never had a huge problem in the way of attacking small rodents, Jet was interested in being friends with all of them, and the sight of any other animal made him want to say hello.
As the woman sat down and another rat emerged, a snack being set down in the table’s center for them, Jet got more and more restless. He really wanted to say hello to the rodents, and it was all Andy could do to keep the dog from running over. He wasn’t much of a barker, which was fortunate in situations like these.
”Adorable.” Andy comments, just loudly enough for the girl to hear, as he observes the rats from his table, which was a few feet away from hers, but other than that, right beside it. Jet’s tail wagged as he strained against the collar Andrew gripped, head tilted as he scrambled on the floor, wanting to greet the human as much as her rats.
