personality » Tyler is a little conflicted personality-wise. In his high school days he was quite the player. Being the Quarter Back of the Dallas High football team, he had an impressive ego, with a large following of females. To put it nicely, he got around, a lot, and was lucky that in all of his getting around he never reproduced. After his time in the military, he's become more reserved, and almost reclusive, with a lot of emotional issues from the trauma he was put through over-seas. A bit of his former self still lingers, in that he still sleeps around, but committing to a relationship is incredibly difficult for him. He tends to stay away from crowded public places because of the number of people, which makes it difficult for actual "dates" to ever work out.
WE'LL TAKE CONTROL OF THE WORLD,
appearance » Tyler is 6'2" with an athletic build. He has rather wild and unruly curly brown hair that rarely looks as though he's put any thought into the way it looks. He tends to be a bit scruffy, but never lets the scruff become long enough to qualify as actual facial hair. He has gray/green eyes. His body is littered with scars, but he keeps them covered and never mentions them.

life history » Tyler was born and raised in Dallas Texas, bu his grandparents. His family had always attended North Dallas High School, and they were big Bulldog fans. It was only natural that Tyler be on the football team when high school rolled around, and with his athleticism, it was no surprise when he made QB for the freshman team, and his sophomore year was the replacement for the starting QB who graduated and went on to play for Ole Miss. Tyler was cocky, like most high school football quarterbacks are, and certainly had his way with the females, particularly the cheerleaders. He planned to go on to college football, and if everything went as he planned, he would play at Texas State and then on to the NFL. Everything was shaping up to work out perfectly for him, until a sudden heart attack took his grandfather's life his senior year of High School, shortly before the end of football season.
After that, all of Tyler's plans to go for fame and glory as a professional football player were pretty well destroyed. His performance on the team crashed and burned, and before long, the recruiters who used to line up to try to get him to commit to their team started calling him a flop. Their sympathy for his situation was quite literally non-existent. Even if they hadn't lost 4-32 to Addison High in the play-offs (their four points only thanks to their kicker who did his best to not let their team be humiliated by their struggling quarterback), and recruiters had showed up at their door, he would have turned them down. Not only could he not afford to go to college without a full ride, but he needed a job... something to keep his grandmother and sister together. He couldn't let them take Gracie away. With the economy the way it was, he saw no option but to join the Army, which promised that his sister and grandmother would be taken care of, and they would even pay for his schooling once he got out.
Unfortunately, nothing went as planned there, either. He completed his training and was rather promptly deployed to Iraq. He served for about a year before a mission went wrong. There were rockets and grenades and IED's coming from everywhere. There was so much chaos that no on noticed the gunshot among all the explosions. With pretty well zero visibility from the dust and smoke, no one noticed when Tyler was suddenly no longer with them, and they didn't realize that he was gone until after they'd managed to retreat from the war zone, and by then it was too late.
It was 13 months, two weeks, and four days before a routine raid accidentally stumbled upon the old slaughterhouse where he was being held... but it wasn't a moment too soon. He had given up hope of ever being rescued from the torture they inflicted on him, and had, moments before, attempted to use a shard of glass he'd found on the floor to take his life. Fortunately for him, in his delirious state he'd not been successful, and shortly after he'd tried, the door was kicked in and a hoard of US soldiers flooded in. Once they realized that he was one of their own, they had him flown off to one of the "hospital ships" for immediate emergency surgery. Once stabilized, he was moved from the ship to a state-side hospital where he underwent all sorts of surgeries and rehab to repair the damage that had been done. For the most part, besides the physical, mental, and emotional scars, he would be fine, with only a few lingering side effects of what he'd gone through.
Without the military salary, the house in Dallas foreclosed, and they moved to the much cheaper housing in Addison... which meant the trailer park, which wasn't really the ideal place for a seven year old to be raised, but it was all they could afford, even with Tyler working two jobs to pay for it.
