Oh The joys of a gray horse(Irish)

She had gotten up late this morning, rushed to get herself ready and get down to the barn. Her love of her life had eagerly greeted her and basically had shifted and noisily tossed his head until grooming was done and he was out in the arena. It had been a good ride but she was still feeling the ailing effects of Rattlers behavior the other day, she had just nicked her shoulder on the jump set up when he had decided to be a butt and now she had a bruise the size of Texas. She leaned against Magics sweaty neck and he nudged her softly, nibbling at her hair, knowing the his girl was at the end of her rope with her younger hunter horse. She sighed and closed her eyes, relaxing ever so slightly the sting of the pain wasn’t so bad any more but she knew she had to get on and ride Rattler today. Seely looked to Magic and finished grooming him out and put him away, she had purposefully kept Rattler inside to make this whole getting him ready to ride part easier, she hopped today would be better than yesterday. She said her silent prays and looked to Rattler, Now you behave today please, I don’t need any more bruises. She spoke wincing as she rotated her sore shoulder, she lead the beautiful gray out into the arena, she had placed all the jumps away, they were only going to do flat work, no need to hit a jump again today. She mounted and started walking, she could feel he was tense and was going to be a complete butt again today. She groaned inwardly and bumped him up to a trot the horses moved beautiful and seemed to relax ever so slightly until the canter came and it was like something just exploded and try as she may, she just couldn’t hang on and off she went landing on that sore shoulder and her horse coming towards her, just getting her in the ribs before veering off and still throwing his fit, she sat up and winced breathing hurt but she couldn’t let the horse get away with this attitude, she stood and brushed it off for now. When he had stopped, she grabbed the reins and remounted bring the horse back up to a canter, when she felt him tense she turned his head to the side and held until he relaxed, she did the same going the other way and finally had a nice canter around the arena and she stopped letting him walk and cool down before she painfully slid off the saddle and led the horse into the barn, she groaned as she slipped the tack off and hosed him down and placed the now tired horse back in his stall, she made her way to the lounge and plopped down on one of the couches and carefully lifted her shirt to look at the hoof print bruise developing on her ribs, she didn’t feel like anything was broken just painful as all hell, closing her eyes she breathed in and out, not really caring if others happened to walk in right now.

Tank got up automatically and trailed closely by him, at six months old the Bernese Mountain Dog pup was a giant already, and he still had a lot of growing and filling out to do… his name was certainly something that fit him, and would even more so once he was as big as he was going to get. Luckily he was a lot calmer and obedient than he had been… okay, maybe not calmer but more obedient, he’d picked up a lot of good behaviours from Morgan’s dog and he’d trained him the rest of the way. Still probably had more training to do anyway but at least it meant that he wasn’t a nuisance when he took him to the barn. Reaching the tack room, he put Trooper’s tack where it usually sat, before heading back out to the gelding, Tank still following him the whole time, staying well away from the other horses in the barn, he knew that Trooper didn’t mind him but he had learnt quickly that not all horses were so tolerant. Telling the dog to sit, which he did promptly, dropping his furry hindquarters quickly to the ground between stalls, well out of the way, Scott untethered Trooper, who hadn’t moved an inch since he had left and come back to his side, leading the aging gelding into his stall. This would probably definitely be his last year working properly, he definitely deserved a retirement of sorts, although he wasn’t going to quit riding the gelding completely. Just not as much as he did now. Once he had shut the stall door securely behind him, he turned back to Tank, whistling shortly and sharply at the dog before making his way towards the lounge, the pup jumping straight up and following him eagerly, tail wagging… he was fairly sure that even if he hadn’t called him he would have followed him anyway, it was almost like having two shadows sometimes, he couldn’t go anywhere in the house without the dog and he had somehow gotten out of the yard once or twice before and showed up at the garage… Scott wasn’t even sure how he had managed to find him exactly, but he guessed that in a small town, a great sense of smell probably went a long way when you were a dog. He was probably just better off taking him to work and making sure he was secured nearby to prevent him from doing it anymore. Walking into the lounge, he didn’t notice the woman sitting on the couch at first… but Tank certainly did, the large pup forgetting his manners momentarily and bounding over to the redhead, sitting next to her legs and wriggling as close as he could get, sniffing at her while he did so, tail thumping wildly against the floor. “Tank, leave her alone!” he said, once he realised what he had been doing, watching the dog get up and back off a few inches although not completely away from her, whole body wriggling in excitement. Okay, that was something that he was definitely going to need to work on with him. Of course, he wasn’t intentionally staring at her bare stomach but with her shirt held up like it was to reveal the bruise on her ribs, it wasn’t exactly hard to see, and it looked pretty nasty as well. Walking over to Tank, he took a hold of the dog’s collar, pulling him gently but firmly back towards him, the pup backing up and plonking himself unceremoniously between Scott’s legs, tail now whacking the backs of his legs every time he wagged it. “Are you alright?” he asked, after a moment, figuring that he probably should, just in case it was serious or something. i always end up feeling cheated tagged sammie words 668 muse fake id - big & rich ft gretchen wilson notes there we go, meant to get it done earlier but i had a few things to do credits irish & a rocket to the moon! if you would like a template, ask, please do not steal!

The young women couldn’t help but think of the pain she would be in as soon as she walked in the door to her townhouse, she had left the young wolf hybrid alone this morning instead of taking him with her, now she was beginning to think that might have been a better idea to bring him with. She didn’t hear the door to the lounge open nor did she really feel the fuzzy pup trying to get her attention, it was only when she heard a males voice did she jump and yank her shirt down, which caused searing pain to run threw her shoulder and ribs. She winced and quickly looked down at the ground and not him or his pup, Dean had severally screwed her up, she hadn’t been allowed to make eye contact with him unless he wanted her too and she wasn’t allowed to have many friends either. She bit her lip and tried to find some words to say, i-i-im fine its just a bruise, she spoke very quietly to the man in front of her. She glanced to the pup for a moment but not the guy, he’s fine I have a wolf hybrid pup at home, im Seely. Once more it was very soft and quiet almost leaning on the point of being hard to hear what she was saying, Seely sighed quietly and winced as she sat back, gingerly touching her ribs and gingerly rubbing her shoulder, aspirin would be wonderful right now she thought but her bag was all the way in her truck and she defiantly didn’t feel like going down there right now, do you have any aspirin? She spoke with a slight little hint of laughter in her voice, thinking how stupid that must sound, she quietly waited still not making any eye contact.

Not that he had really done that in a while, before when he was still getting into fights and would show up with cuts and bruises and black eyes it had been a lot more common, but obviously he hadn’t been like that for a long while now so he had kind of gotten used to people not starting at the sight of him. But he couldn’t blame her this time really, since she’d had her eyes closed when he actually came into the room, and he hardly thought that Tank nearly jumping on her would have helped the situation. He almost didn’t hear what she said to him at first, having to strain to hear her quiet words, nodding when she said that she was fine. Tank turned around to nudge a wet nose against his hand, shoving his head underneath Scott’s free hand, clearly in search of a pat, which he obliged to, rubbing the pup between the ears, barely having to reach down to do so, thanks to his size. “He’s just really heavy, wouldn’t want him trying to sit on you,” he said, glancing down at the pup again as he spoke. “Scott,” he introduced himself, realising that she had told him what her name was, letting go of Tank’s collar and telling him to stay in a low voice, which the pup did, although he looked like he was just about ready to bound off again regardless, clearly too full of energy. He’d probably have to end up taking him running or something later, when he got home. “There should be some in the first aid kit in here…” he said, walking over to the cupboard it was in after a moment, realising that she could possibly be new and not actually know where it was kept, pulling it out and opening it, sifting through the contents until he found the bottle of aspirin in it. About to take it over to her, he stopped to get a glass of water as well as an afterthought, just in case she preferred to take them with water rather than dry swallow the pills, walking back over to the couch and holding them both out to her. “Here you go.” sammie | 407 | outfit | let me know if you need me to get rid of the scroll :3

She found herself looking up at him, well with the state im in I don’t think I want him sitting on me no offense to the dog. She spoke softly and nodded, its nice to meet you. Was it really nice to meet him? She hadn’t really decided yet but at least he was easy on the eyes and he wasn’t bad to look at either. She smiled and took the contents, thanks I have only been here a week and this is my first time in the lounge it just seemed like a better option than getting in the truck and driving home. Seely swallowed them and took a tiny sip of water, before setting the glass down, im sorry if I confuse you I just had some bad things happen to me with my ex, I wasn’t allowed to make eye contact ever. She spoke softly and adjusted herself, looking about the room, she had to keep telling herself she wasn’t with him anymore and she was pretty sure he wasn’t going to ever show up, after all her dad had won her justice and he was going to be locked away for a long time. She couldn’t help but blush with how much her accent had come out with that last statement, she shook her head and looked to him again, well and it would be pointless to drive home when I would have to come back and let Magic back in from the pasture, she smiled I have two horses Magic my gentlemen and Rattler the not gentlemen who likes to buck me off and make a game of it. She shook her head thinking of the gray quarter horse, she was even being to think gelding was more and more a possibility but his lines were so good she just couldn’t do it at least not yet. What about you any horses? she asked looking at him, waiting.

He stepped back once she took the water and aspirin off him, nodding when she said that it was nice to meet him, thinking that maybe he should have returned that but he didn’t really think about it, wondering why people said that it was nice to meet someone they had only said a few sentences to, not that he had anything against people who said that sort of thing, he just preferred to wait and decide whether or not it was ‘nice’ to meet someone or not until he got to know them better. He honestly hadn’t really noticed that she hadn’t been looking at him that much, possibly because making eye contact wasn’t that much of a big deal to him, and he had been paying half of his attention to Tank and had been going off to get the water and aspirin for Seely, so he hadn’t really had that much of a chance to notice. “It’s fine, I don’t mind,” he answered, obviously not wanting her to feel bad about it and he wasn’t going to ask what happened either, not exactly being the nosey type, he didn’t want to ask her about it because by the sounds of it, it probably wasn’t something she would want to talk to a complete stranger about… something that he knew the feeling of very well, considering his own past. Scott nodded when she asked if he had any horses, looking down briefly at Tank as the pup moved over to him and leant heavily against his leg, panting and wagging his tail as he looked back up at his owner. “I have two as well… my old gelding Trooper, I’ve had him for a really long time now… and then there’s Blue, he’s a more recent addition,” he answered. He hadn’t had the Quarter Horse stallion for all that long yet, but he liked him well enough… he was fairly sure that he would have nothing on Trooper when it all came down to it, but he still had plenty of work to do with him. sammie | 388 | outfit | *rolls*

It had been a couple days, sense she had met Scott at the barn. She had felt as though they had hit it off and had invited him over to watch a movie. Seely was currently laying on the couch watching her wolf hybrid shred his favorite toy, well there would be a trip to the pet store in order sooner than later. She sighed as the wolf pup looked up at her, he was growing like a weed at nine months he was pushing a hundred pounds but not exactly quite there yet, Really Atti was that needed? She spoke sitting up and walking over to him and picking up the pieces from the floor and tossing them in the trash, she went to the cupboard and grabbed a rawhide, it wouldn’t take him long to eat it but it would distract him from shredding her furniture. She laid back on the couch again, Atti eying her, don’t you even think about killing the couch I just got this. She squeaked as the large pup jumped on the couch and laid down right on top of her, his large pink tongue rolling out in a grin of sorts, she scratched his belly and shook her head, we got to work on that too, your getting too big to jump on me, she smiled and ruffled his belly fur watching his bright blue eyes close for the briefest of moments before there was a knock on the door and he was off her and jogging over to the door with a deep bark every step of the way. She shook her head and walked over to the door and put him on a sit stay, she opened the door and smiled, Hey. She spoke softly, seeing Atti peek his head out from around her legs, his tail thumping behind him, she moved away from the door and sat back on the couch the large pup barking excitedly at the thought of a new playmate, she whistled and he came over and sat next to her legs as she waited.

He had stuck him on his lead, for now, since he didn’t quite know how well the meeting with Seely’s dog would go, although he was fairly sure that Tank would be fine, but it was just easier to control him this way anyway. Walking up to the front door, Tank in tow, he stopped outside it, reaching up to knock on the door, stepping back a bit as he waited for her to answer, getting Tank to sit down next to him before she got there, just in case he decided to try and rush inside the door or something when she opened it. “Hey,” he answered, when the door finally opened to reveal the redhead on the other side, giving her a small smile before walking in after she had moved away from the entrance so he could. Tank acted like he usually did around strange dogs, dropping to the floor with his butt half raised to the ceiling, tail wagging wildly across the floor, making small whining noises, clearly wanting to play, but since Scott had told him to stay with him and his lead didn’t allow him to rush off anyway, he just stayed put, waiting until he was allowed to go. “How are you?” he asked, looking over at her as she sat on the couch. sammie | 307 | outfit | *rolls*

Seely kept a close eye on Atti, though she had socialized him sense a young age and knew he wouldn’t do anything bad, such as attack the other dog. She released him and he dashed off, going over to the other pup with his tail chopping the air rapidly, she shook her head and looked to Scott, Im good I suppose, I got the last box unpacked. She grinned she was pretty proud of that fact, it had taken her forever to get such boxes unpacked and the last one had been personal photos, trips she had taken with her father and her first few horses, of course now Magic and Rattler’s face filled a few of those frames, it was always hard to get their pictures. She shook her head and heard a thud and she searched the room for Atti but of course the sneaky pup had snuck off, she groaned and whistled the pup came back with one of her bras dangling from his teeth and it couldn’t be one of her cheap ones, it had to be one of the expensive ones, her face flushed about eight shades of red and the dog bowed and growled, wagging his tail and challenging her to get it, she bit her lip she knew better than to fall for that trick, Atti drop she spoke hoping the pup would fall for it but oh no he just tossed it and dove after it and pranced around the room. She pinched the bridge of her nose and stood grabbing a treat and taking the stairs two at a time, the pup followed looking for the treat and she corned him in her room and snatched the bra from him but he didn’t get the treat, Only good dogs get treats bad boys have to go in their kennel for a time out. Hearing the word kennel he went downstairs and she could hear him sigh as he got in, she cleaned up the mess in her room and closed the door before heading downstairs and locking the door to the kennel. She put the treat on the counter and went and sat back down on the couch he cheeks having returned to normal color, she gave him a sheepish smile, sorry she spoke softly and grabbed the remote and flipped the tv on and then switched it to the hangover two and drew her legs up, looking at him so how have you been? She asked she was curious and was hopping this night would go her way.

He’d had to unpack several times in the last few years, although hopefully moving into the house they were in now that Morgan was living with them would be the last move for a long time, mostly because he just hated the whole moving process… packing, unpacking, and moving everything between places. It was just tiresome and irritating. He hadn’t really noticed that her dog had left the room that much, just enough to make sure that Tank hadn’t followed him wherever he had gone, until a thud came from somewhere else in the house and she turned her attention away from him to whistle at Atti, himself reaching down to pet Tank on the top of the head when the pup came to sit next to him, again never straying all that far from wherever Scott was, even though he was probably quite tempted considering there was another dog running around. When he ran out carrying what was obviously a bra in his mouth, he tactfully looked away, keeping his attention on Tank until she had sorted it out, not wanting to embarrass her any further. “It’s fine,” he replied, when she came back out after she had put her dog away and fixed whatever it was he had disturbed in the room he had been in, walking over to the couch as well and seating himself on it as she turned the television on, Tank walking over with him and flopping his huge furry body down onto his feet, resting his head on his large paws, where he would probably end up dozing off for most of the visit. “I’ve been alright… just busy with work, and horses, and my sister,” he answered, leaning back in his seat a little. The third, of which, was probably the most difficult of the three… he loved her but he was still trying to figure out the whole teenage girl and big brother thing. sammie | 400 | outfit | *rolls*

She smiled and watched him sit down, ah his sister that’s right she hadn’t ever had to worry about a sibling her father had yet to remarry but the wedding wasn’t too far off and she was quite happy for him it was about time. She shook her head and looked back to him, pretty sure trying to figure out the whole older sibling thing is tough, I wouldn’t know though never had a sibling but maybe in the feature I will. She smiled and moved closer to him, cuddling up to him and resting her head softly on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, she really did enjoy her time with Scott he was different then every other guy out there who souly wanted one thing but Scott was far from that and she could just tell that. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment before thinking back to her past relationship, Scott had never brought it up but she wanted to tell him, Scott I want to tell you about my previous relationship... she trailed off for a moment before taking a deep breath, I was with him sense I was 18 thought he loved me but now I know he didn’t, the first couple months were good he didn’t do anything bad but that changed and he started shoving me and hitting me, one night he threw a vase at me I really tried to get out but he threatened me with a gun, my father didn’t know what to do and finally on night after I had turned twenty-one I wouldn’t give it to him I was really tired and sore after a bad ride and he raped me, I called the cops because he left and now he is serving life in London thanks to my father. She stopped and realized how bad her accent came out during all of that, she found the rose color creeping across her cheeks again but it wasn’t as bad as it had been moments before when her dog had gotten her bra. She placed her hand on his chest feeling that steady beating and she closed her eyes sighing as she tucked her hand under her cheek to keep it there, she silently waited.

He hadn’t exactly divulged into the full details of why his sister had come to live with him past the part where their mother had died, not exactly being the sort of person who laid out his whole life in front of someone, a lot more private, especially with someone he really didn’t know all that well yet. Not that he even really shared all that much with people he was close to either, the most he had ever divulged to anyone was what he had spoken to Morgan about the other day, but even then he had left out a lot of it. When she moved closer to him, he lifted his arm, letting her lean against him, dropping his arm lightly back down, half around her when she had settled herself. His attention half drifted off to the movie they were watching while there was a few moments of silence, although he really didn’t pay all that much attention to it, to be honest he didn’t watch a whole lot of television or even films, usually because he was either off at the barn working with Trooper or Blue, or he was out fixing an engine somewhere. If he did it was just because he was at home and had nothing else to do, and even then he generally just flicked through all of the channels and never actually settled on anything. After a few moments she began speaking again, Scott looking down at her as she started, remaining silent the entire time she was speaking, letting her get it all out, not wanting to interrupt her, considering it definitely seemed like one of those things that was really, really hard to talk about with anyone. He didn’t say anything for a few brief moments after she had finished speaking, having to process it all before he could think of anything to reply with, clearing his throat a little before he spoke. “I’m sorry that happened to you… at least he didn’t get away with it,” he answered, not really sure what to say, the fact that he wasn’t a man of many words probably not helping him out in this situation. sammie | 374 | outfit | sorry for the wait, bio sucks.

Seelysmiled and closed her eyes, yes that is a plus that he didn’t get away with it. She sighed contently before peeking one eye at him, you aren’t mean are you? You don’t torture girls by tickling them to death, do you? She stuck her tongue out at him and grinned a small laugh bubbling up from within her as she closed her eyes again, you know I really like you Scott your everything and more, even in ways you wouldn’t understand and that’s not meant to be dirty. She sat up and moved to sit in his lap, she touched his cheek and then placed a delicate kiss upon his lips before pulling back and moving away, going to let her pup back out figuring he had suffered enough in his kennel. She went into the kitchen and leaned against the counter, taking a couple deep breaths, she was afraid he was going to reject everything and just walk right out, afraid of her and avoid her until her death. Seely yawned and grabbed two bottles of water and headed back into the living room and sat down again placing the bottles of water on the table and leaning back into the couch, being sure not to touch Scott in case he wanted to get up and run. She turned her attention to the movie, though never fully, she was still waiting for him to say something, she was enjoying his company and hopefully he was too.

He was a little surprised when she moved into his lap, not saying anything as she spoke, then reached down to kiss him, not really giving him much of a chance to answer as she got up quickly after she had done so, leaving the room. He cleared his throat a little, running a hand through his hair as he thought about what just happened, trying to figure out what was the best way to react to all of this. He had only known her a few days at the most, and it usually took him a lot longer to reach this point with someone… it had taken Josh months to break through the protective shell he had put himself in to get anywhere remotely near the dating stage, and with Zoe he had left it so long that she had moved back to Australia before they had even gotten started. And after what Seely had just told him, he wasn’t sure if moving this fast was such a good idea. When she came back out and sat down on the couch again near him, but not anywhere near as close as she had been before, he leant forward a little bit, trying to figure out how exactly to word what he wanted to say. “I’m sorry, I don’t usually move things so fast… not saying that I don’t want anything, of course… just, all things considering, it might be a good idea if we took things slowly,” he said, glancing over at her once he had finished speaking. sammie | 332 | like a knife - secondhand serenade | *rolls*

Seely nodded when he spoke and stretched out, Atti limbering over and almost glaring at Scott before hoping up on the couch and laying on top of Seely, who absent mindedly started scratching along the pups spin and his ears. She did agree with Scott but she had just felt the need to do that. With a sigh she looked to the tv and focused on the movie for the most part, the other part was on the large pup laying in her lap, she wiggled slightly and Atti moved and went and laid on the floor near Seely enough that he could watch the mans every step. Seely smiled at Atti and leaning forward grabbed her water bottle and cracked it open. Taking a few sips before setting it back down, she looked over at Scott and stood smiling, come on I want to take a walk she said excitedly suddenly wanting to do something or play wrestle or joke.
